Mrs A breathes huge sigh of relief. On a more serious note, I't looks a good appointment but God help NA if he doesn't start with 10 straight wins. Here's a crazy idea - why don't we all get behind him and give our full support? Sorry...... what was I thinking.. NA out

Or, to put a more positive spin on it - if he did that well with a small budget, what would he be capable of with a big budget?

We can't imagine being Cortese making this decision because we don't know who he's interviewed or will interview, not to mention their dogs (who have been seen eating their Winalot, drawalot but losealot more at the Grand Harbour kennels this week) We could just wait and see?

Lighten up guys, you're taking this all far too seriously. You have to understand that to post on here you have to either make up some complete b@llix and say it came from a mate/ good source/ steward/waitress at Grand Harbour etc, or you have to launch into some vitriolic knee jerk reaction to something taken as a personal attack. Variations on this include smug and vague comments that you know everything but can't say anything and p!ss takes over sub-optimal spelling/grammar, izzit. Having said that has anyone else heard about the ex-World Cup winning young foreign manager with Premiership experience currently looking for a mansion in Northam? I know all about it but can't say yet, you @rseholes

I drove past the Grand Harbour hotel earlier. Just thought I'd mention it.

I'll have a go then - Swindon

Its one of those new Saints press conferences - without the press. They will be issued with a statement and official photos after a private function. Best to keep watching the De Vere breakfast room, Saints car park and the Winchester lettings list.

I imagine Mrs A will be quite relieved

In the interests of balance perhaps we should have an Alan Pardew ambivalence thread..... he was OK

the excitement is in tents

If you knew as much as the rest of us you wouldn't have to ask All I can say is......no I can't say Oh, sh!t, Ive started playing these stupid games myself now ... lets all just knock it on the head shall we, and just wait and see.

I can't believe so few of us know

Dont encourage them FFS - just dont bite!

You can pretty much make up anything and put it on here at the moment. You always could, but theres so much more scope now. As usual 99% in complete b@llix, but good fun if you don't take it too seriously.

Thats genius - deserves a roly eyes thingy at least!

No, it was my mate's wife who makes the tea at the training ground during the day and prints the echo on her night shift - she got the tip off from a player's wife who spoke to an agent that also works as a translator for NC and moonlights as a press office security guard.
-
So lets recap on what we know for sure... AP was sacked because of a training ground bust up with the staff, couldn't work with some of the players, reacted badly to the Guly signing, couldn't get money for signings, didn't spend money on signings, didn't get the right result at the Orient (ML memorial) game and was having an affair with one or more players wives (allegedly) while talking about the vacant job at Villa. ML wanted him sacked last season but NC helped to keep him in place until now, although AP and NC never got on and had their own separate ideas for running the club, all against the background of poor results and signings made by AP, NC or a committee of 4. NC made a snap decision to sack AP and his mates on Sunday despite having made up his mind last season and/or persuading ML to keep AP to see how results went until well into the new season - about 3 or 4 games. Now NC has to bring in the management team he has had in the wings for over a month i.e. Zola and Steve Coppell - or sift through a list of around 200 applicants, most of whom have this week been seen in the directors box, in the car park or breakfasting at the De Vere. The list includes every manager currently in or out of work in this country or abroad, alive or dead. Don't take my word for all this - its just what I've heard.
