  1. Well Freddy Adu definitely seems available if clubs want him. Swiss side Sion have just turned him down after he was on trial there for the past week. And his Twitter says: "Guys I will let everyone know what I decide to do. I havnt decided anything yet. Lots to think about. Hopefully some good news in the next couple days. I know I'm going to be praying. Until then I will be incognito. Ill keep you updated."
  2. Seems like he'll be in their starting XI this season, but wouldn't mind a cheeky bid for Tommy Smith.
  3. 1-0 Saints, blocked shot came to Mills who slotted past the keeper. Bart, Harding, and Doble all came on at half-time, and Wotton has just come on for Hammond.
  4. Not a great game here, Holder-Spooner has been lively, whilst Dickson has looked a bit rusty. Barnard curled one over the bar but apart from that it's pretty much been Barnet putting on most of the pressure, and they've had a fair few corners (including one suspect punch from Kelvin, although he also pulled off a great tip over the bar from a header). Rain has now stopped, hopefully a better second half! Oh, and according to the PA the subs are: Harding, Bialkowski, Doble, Holmes, Mcnish, Tafazolli (sic), Reeves, Wotton, Hoskins, Robinson.
  5. The ITV4 bit with Le Tiss: http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=153459
  6. Stay on the line! I was holding for a bit longer than you, and just got off the phone with 2 tickets.
  7. I've just tried it, and it let me right through to the payment page - before saying I don't have permission to buy them yet. Bit confusing letting you through all the way, but yeah didn't work.
  8. Erm it does, you on 96.1? Lambert has picked up a knock, should be alright to continue though.
  9. You can't keep saying we don't have wide players - we are playing four in the middle, two of those are "wide", whether you think they're naturally comfortable there or not. James and Lallana should be getting down the line and getting balls in regardless.
  10. If we get to half-time 0-0 I'd take that - then let Pardew have a right go at them. I'd like to see Mellis come on down the right for a bit of pace as well, see what he can do.
  11. What I mean is, having seen him last year in the CCC he was ropey - and I don't see that improving much even with us being a league lower. To be honest though until any player arrives and settles into the team who can really judge, so whoever it is (hopefully we are actually getting a Chelsea player after all this!) I'll be more than happy to welcome them.
  12. I have a horrible feeling it will be Bridcutt. Even at this level, average at best.
  13. Thomas should have a bloody hat-trick!
  14. Rickie Lambert debut gooooooooaaaaaaal!!!!!
  15. Scrappy game so far, no real incidents of note. Murty made a slight error early-on and Northampton should've done better, but apart from that tame stuff. Bit of confusion in the Northampton box as I type, Lambert causing problems after good work from Harding and wanted a pen - not given.
  16. Absolutely brilliant signing, and a nice transparent explanation from Bristol's point of view as well I think: http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10328~1749339,00.html
  17. My friend and his family all have season tickets at Crystal Palace, and each year when one has dropped out or they've just not renewed - they get a phone call from the club to ask why. Twice, Simon Jordan himself has personally rung them up, and they've then been offered further discounts on the standard renewal price if they take up their season tickets again. It's worked well for both parties, the family have got cheaper tickets - and the club have sold a few extra tickets!
  18. Truly outstanding place, and with the set lunches you can get (£15 - £20 for three courses, as opposed to their £60 tasting menu or whatever) it's amazing value for the quality you get.
  19. Expected the penalty, expected relegation. But still, when it happens... absolutely gutted.
  20. Dave Hockaday (and Geraldine Hockaday, I'm assuming his wife?) were guests of the Watford directors at Vicarage Road on Saturday, where they watched Watford v Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. I'm not saying this has any relevance to anything, just passing on the info!
  21. Well so far it reaches.... Sway. It'll get there eventually though!
  22. What's wrong with us!! We've got a Subway and everything now!
  23. I really loved Krakow, not a million things to do there, but that's kind of the point. Pretty much everything revolves around the main square - and no matter where your hotel is (we stayed in a couple of cheap and cheerful hostels) they'll no doubt be walking distance to anywhere you need to get to in the town. The nightlife's pretty decent (it's a big place for students), and there's plenty of bars and clubs - again all just off the main square. One to check out is CK Browar, where they brew their own beer, and you can have it brought to your table in something like 6/8/12 pint tubes, and then just pour it yourself from the tap. Couple of restaurants I'd say are a must, first one is "U Babci Maliny", lovely place done up like a woodshed from a fairytale or something - and you can get a massive meal for about £4. Then there's a place literally across the street which sells "pierogi", little Polish dumpling things. Again, about £4 a plate (the street both those places are on is Slawkowska, right off the square again). You've got the old Jewish quarter as well which is great to wonder about, and the only area where pretty much no one speaks English, which makes ordering food from the little market stalls a bit of an experience. Then there's the castle with the river and everything, umm yeah just a lovely place really. A bike tour is well worth doing - worked out at about a tenner for almost the whole day - get to see all the old ghettos, Schindler's factory and areas you probably wouldn't get to by yourself. Definitely enough to do for 2/3 days not including Auschwitz!
