Yes Harding has but didnt exactly excel in the teams he played for. Chaplow was good for us in the Championship in 2006 but perhaps isnt as good now (dropped by relegated Preston) I think the important thing is to give players a chance and to keep a winning team, but inevitably there will be weaknesses and we'll address that in January.

I think we'll be pretty average and the likes of Hammond, Harding and Chaplow will be exposed as not good enough for this league. I reckon we'll then invest in January and push towards the play offs ending up 5th or 6th.

Our initial aim should be to simply compete in this division. Saints are notorious bad starters so if we can win some, lose some at the start, thats fine by me. Then maybe invest in January and go for the play offs or if possible make a late charge for auto. I would be happy if it went like last season (09/10) where we didnt make the play offs or anything but still had some memorable days.

Yes it does. Brighton fans are using the fact they signed off before our game with them as an excuse for us only finishing 3 points behind them. Yet when we use excuses such as having the Pardew/Adkins changover and other teams raising their games against us, these are just poor excuses. The league table is only a true reflection of achievement once every team has played every other twice. Brighton won the league fair and square but if you look at the season as a whole, we werent far behind them, especially if you consider goal difference.
