Put it this way - assuming both Saints and Hudders win their last games of the season, we get 4 bites of the cherry. 1. Beat Brentford, if that doesnt happen; 2. Brighton beat Huddersfield, if that doesnt happen; 3. Beat Plymouth, if that doesnt happen; 4. Playoffs.
-
Looks like they are down to bear bones. Get them on set pieces I say. Would be highly dissapointed if we dont win this.
-
I'm really worried that Hudders will beat Brighton and we only get a draw at Brentford, putting real pressure on us to win at Plymouth. Coz if we then only draw at Plymough, it's playoffs for us. However, I think we will really put everything into the Brentford game which will leave us just needing to beat Walsall, whatever Hudders do at Brighton or us at Plymouth.
-
You have to ask though, how come he never really cut it in the Championship, both at Leeds and at Ipswich?
-
Why dont you buy some in blocks 1 - 3 too then when its all sold out, sell the lesser tickets on here (at face value obviously)
-
I tried to get some tickets for Walsall yesterday online but it was down. Got 3 tickets first thing today though.
-
Me too. I had to pause until l celebrated. But when I did, all my kids started crying in the back of my car as they thought something was wrong with me. The price you pay for 3 crucial points.
-
It is. If we lose tomorrow then we just have to match them on Monday then next Saturday (which we should if you look at the fixtures), then it's down to the Plymouth (should be already down) game in hand to take the 2nd spot again. Just leaves Walsall at home.
-
Knew this would happen but even if we lose tomorrow its still in our hands. If we match what huddersfield do next saturday when theyre at brighton, its all down to the plymouth game.
-
Yeah I was gonna covert mine into an office chair but didnt want to put holes in it. When I got it, there was chap near me who brought a complete toolkit so I was able to extract it with minimal damage.
-
No. If we win both on Saturday and on Monday and Hudders and Posh lose both, we would be 6 points clear with them having 2 games in hand. Not mathematically safe. Even if the worst was to happen this weekend and Hudders won leaving them 3 points clear of us, we would only need to make up those 3 points playing both Brentford & Plymouth away whilst they play Brighton away. I reckon we'll go 3 points behind them this weekend, then make it up next weekend leaving us with 2 games left and them 1. We will only then need to win our wallsall H game.
-
I'll tell you what is a blessing. Posh & Huds playing on Friday and us on Saturday. If results go against us, we'll have a massive sense of urgency against Brighton. If results go our way on Friday, Saturday will be seen as a massive opportunity - we win and Hudders lose, then all we need to do is win our home games.
-
I think we'll win at least one of Plymouth or Brentford away. And how are Hudders getting anything at Brighton and not us. Here's my prediction: Saints: Brighton A LOSE Hartlepool H WIN Brentford A LOSE Plymouth A WIN Wallsall H WIN Huddersfield: MK Dons A WIN Daggers H WIN Brighton A LOSE Brentford H WIN This puts us up and isnt an optimistic forecast. Also I think Brighton will start the game slowly on Saturday after the various celebrations before the game, whereas we will be focused (are we doing guard of honour btw?)
-
Dont like the idea of relying on Connoly. Thats like saying Killer is on the mend. Getting nervous now. However, if Mk Dons can somehow beat Huddersfield and we can take advantage of Brighton's pre match celebrations on Saturday, we could be in a position where we only need to win our homes games to go up. Do feel we need Huddersfield to slip up though.

Rochdale 2 - 0 Southampton - Post Match Reaction
bender replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
To be fair they played us a two perfect times. The first time we had just sacked Pardew and the second we were clearly fatigued by the recent fixtures. -
Just back. Great day out. Saints fans were tremendous. First half seem to be all us despite them having 2 goals ruled out for offside. 2nd half they seemed to cause us problems without massively threatening. Didnt play well 2nd half to be honest but looked like we could if we needed to. If we win on Tuesday's then Huddersfield slip up at Charlton next Saturday (and we win at home obviously), it's all over for me.
-
This is our 91-93 admiral strip

We are playing on Tuesday and neither of them are. So for me I think : We will get 4 points from Orient and Rochdale and 3 next weekend. Hudders will take 3 by beating Posh but losing away next weekend. Posh will lose tomorrow but win next weekend. Therefore by 5pm a week tomorrow, we'll have 7 extra points and those two only 3. Result = 2 points ahead of Hudders, 5 ahead of Posh and with a game in hand. And the run in looks good for us in comparison to Hudderfield. Simples.
-
After Tuesdays upcoming game in hand at Rochdale, I firmly believe that 4 games after that we can afford to be 3 points off 2nd. After these 4 games we go into the last week of the season with that extra game away at Plymouth on the Monday. Surely with them already relegated we win and go 2nd going into the final game.

Is that David Cameron in a Saints shirt

A pointless post. I have a back garden full of gorgeous virgins who are willing to put out to only those who's Saintsweb name is dannysfc. No wait, that's a lie, sorry mate.
-
Yeah that would have to be my worst game.
-
A team we'll be playing next season.
-
I noticed that, although we could easily be sitting pretty in 2nd on Tuesday night with two games in hand
-
I reckon tranny might get something tomorrow. Come on Saints. This is there for the taking.
