  1. Well Corpy, you are right about one thing. We all hate both you, your cr*ppy club, and city.
  2. Look I know you're trolling but, here it is in English. If Lowe had said we need to balance the books, so we will reduce the squad, but try and stay in the league, I think people would have accepted it. He didn't, because he had a hair brained scheme to bring in two Dutch coaches with no experience, and a belief that the players in the Academy were better than any established pro's we had. Therefore, he got rid of the experienced players, and replaced them with the youth team, not just because they were cheaper, but because he believed himself that it would work. No English manager would have put up with it, so he went to Holland and pulled up some bloke who would agree with him. People boycotted because if we hadn't gone into Admin, Lowe would have continued in this mad plan. He thought he knew more about football coaching than anyone else in the club, and probably in the league. Even if he had attracted new investment, people would still of wanted him out, because the natural progression was to have Rupert Lowe as first team manager, fitness coach etc. You may have had some chancers and crooks in charge, but you haven't had a maniac like Lowe in charge of your first team.
  3. I think that Corpy misunderstood what I was saying. Crap results and crap football never stopped me going to watch my team. Knowing that it was the only way to remove Lowe and Wilde was why I stopped, the football, as crap as it was, had no bearing on it. The difference with the shambles down the road is that they have never tried the no money on the team principle, so we don't know if their fans would boycott on those grounds.
  4. For all the mad ideas, it does sound as if Clifford was a pretty much innocent party in the shambles that was going on around him. He also had the decency to walk away without drawing all the salary he was owed. However, he does paint a disturbing picture of Clive Woodward, and is starting to hint that Harry was up to everything we always suspected. Lowe just looks gullible, Woodward a nutter, and Harry, well nothing about that particular sleaze bag would surprised me. If Clifford is prepared to say more, I'm looking forward to hearing just what a dinosaur Bassett was, and what an absolute c@ck Dennis Wise is/was.
  5. What I protested about was that we were no longer even remotely trying to operate as a football club, we were trying to reduce outgoings. The team was incapable of competing in the league it was in because we had sold or loaned out anyone who could play at that level. Add to that a manager with less experience than the average schoolmaster, and many people, me included, did not think it was worth propping up Rupert lowe and Mike Wilde by buying tickets. I and others like me knew that the only way to rid our selves of Lowe was to stop going, and force the club into admin, or into the ownership of someone else. It was a gamble that could have had very serious consequences, but the alternative, in my mind was worse. When Lowe and Wilde were removed by the administrator, I started going to games again. None of this has any relevance to you lot, apart from the fact once again it underlines the different approaches each club took to going bust. One tried to balance the books and avoid it, the other just hoped it would go away. Now we are a football club again I and many others will accept good and bad times, and support it with ticket money, but I would stop going if we reverted to playing the Youth Team and charging £30 to watch again. We won't know if your fans are the same, because you have refused to play the youth team, preferring the has-been approach, and still the attendance drops.
  6. As I keep pointing out, if Aviva have a problem, it should be with Barclays. We were never behind on mortgage payments, but after admin, the administrator had to get the best deal for the creditors. He managed to get £14m, and Aviva were forced to accept what they got. Barclays bank lost Aviva the money they were owed, because they forced the company into admin. As I understand from the Poopey admin, there has not yet been any money paid to anyone, because the only person to receive any cash has been your former owner, and of course those hard up football clubs like Spurs, Chelsea and others.
  7. But we did have the money to pay for the stadium, we were never behind on the repayments, nor did we lie to Aviva about our ability to repay. Aviva were shafted because Barclays pulled the plug over a £4m overdraft. If we had Peter Storrie in charge, we would have got Aviva to fund an expansion to 80,000, and then told them we couldn't pay.
  8. I was there. I suspect you are the kind of person who continually said that MLT was too fat, lazy, and that the odd hat trick was a fluke.
  9. We have some fans who nothing about football. On Monday I heard some t**t say "how did Lambert get Man Of The Match?". Well, it could be that he got the penalty, scored the penalty, and crossed the freekick for Fonte to score the second. It is almost as stupid as saying he was rubbish at Bournemouth apart from the goal he scored, and the one he made in our 3-1 win.
  10. In the home games at least, it is because we are trying to play a passing game, that some fans are getting annoyed. The ball is constantly played to the closest man in space, which in the last three home games has meant across the back four, and then back to Kelvin. We would look better if we actually carried on with this but did it half way up the pitch, rather than across our own penalty area. Last season, was at times great to watch, but was also awful in parts. Trying to break down sides by hoofing the ball 60/70 yards to Rickie's head was our tactic if the opposition had ten men back. This season, we have attacked well at times, and kept possession well at times, and the only time this season I can think of a lack of passing at home, was the Brentford game when Kelvin was the starting point for nearly all our attacks in the second half. Adkins has, for me, tightened the defence, tried to play more possession football, and changed things around to get results. And on that basis, I think he is doing things the right way.
  11. The Spa was behind Boots. You get there by going from the precinct, up the side of the Echo building, and then it was at the top of a short road that now would lead you to West Quay, Costa Coffee entrance. One of the old landlords was Tony Pocock of Tom Tackle, Buds etc, next to the Mayflower.
  12. No one will get him, he signed a new contract at Huddersfield last week.
  13. Kingsland ST holder towards the Northam, quietest since our last relegation, in the first half. Second half was better, but hope for more noise on Tuesday.
  14. You have no idea what you are talking about. Also, as someone who actually goes to games the atmosphere today before half time was terrible, no noise at all.
  15. I'm sorry, but Morgan did very little yesterday, and he and Chaplow had no idea what the other was doing at any time. Also, his shooting is terrible.
  16. The friendly club tag was on the first bus out of town when RL took the club on.
  17. More abuse coming, just do one you six fingered retard, nothing you say has relevance nor is it worth anything.
  18. The key to automatic promotion is to get 10 points per calendar month for the whole season, giving 90 points by May 2011. It doesn't matter whether we beat Plymouth or not, as long as by the end of August we have 10 points, 20 by the end of September, and so on.
  19. The club don't pay for the road closure, it comes out of the Police budget. It will be dangerous letting everyone cross when they feel like it, but then the road isn't closed before the games.
  20. It may have been my mistake, but Private Eye have been known to incorrectly report things.
  21. I thought it was funded by a loan Corpy, because Private Eye raised the fact that Standard Chartered had loaned money to GayBoy, with the club as security in early 2008. Whilst I accept that Private Eye is a bit highbrow for most of the inbreds in skatemouth, I would have thought a true man of the world like you wopuld have read it, and possibly asked some questions of all your "top contacts" at the club.
  22. So what you really mean is cheap tickets, not supporter friendly, and there is a difference. For me, it is about seeing my team, if I am lucky enough to afford it. I also wouldn't write off all supporters other than the Northam end, simply because they go for a pre-match beer somewhere you don't, doesn't make them less valid as fans. p.s. I drink in the Alex pre-game.
  23. I have had a season ticket every year bar one, since the early 80's. I decided not to two years ago, because I didn't think we were trying to win football matches, but save money, and I objected to paying for that. I attended most games until Christmas, then stopped completely, until Lowe left. Last season I had a season ticket. My point is that I will pay to watch football, but once the result is secondary to the financial outcome, I'm not interested. It will be the same if NC went down the same route.
  24. Do you think that the majority of other football clubs are "supporter friendly". At nearly every Premier League, and a majority of Football League clubs, there are fans groups who will tell you what crooks etc their owners are, and how they are fleecing the fans. The real issue is that football clubs are not normal businesses, because as fans we are loyal to one club, and won't go and support someone else. Therefore, we put up with much more than we would from our regular supermarket. The only thing that would stop me from buying tickets to watch Saints would be if we went back to two years ago, where we actually set the club up with no chance of avoiding relegation. I refused to pay to watch that, as for me, if a team has no chance, or intention, of competing, it can't expect me to pay for it. If the current regime took us back to those days, then I would stop buying tickets.
