To be honest, the guy who told me, who is best mates with FT (who i know really well too, if it is who it is), doesn't talk bollox for the sake of it, he really doesn't. If it had come directly from FT, well, that's another story. I was always a bit sceptical myself but as I said, the one really ITK isn't on SM, he's a regular guy that works in sports media and very unassuming, but a top bloke.

Barely saw a mask in the Itchen North concourse and so what, we are all vaccinated. That’s the point of the covid passport isn’t it?
-
yes, just read the UI and apart from son's embarrassing spelling, it's all there really.

I've been told it happening in the next two days, reliable guy, but does not have a clue who it is. Supposed to £125m, big loss for Goa but he needs to get something back. Apparently EPL have already approved it. I'm dubious in the fact that these things are never kept under wraps, so even though i trust the guy that told me, still don't believe it.

At last our government have some common sense
-
Fair enough, a bit crap really. Anyway, wouldn’t worry about details mate, we went to palace and weren’t even covid checked. Just leave them with original details, they aren’t going to be checking ID.
-
not sure anyone's going to help you until you change your profile picture mate.

But that’s not happening is it? The numbers aren’t increasing whatsoever. At what point do we call this variant as what it is, pretty much a flu virus. So if it kills less than 20k, then it’s actually safer than the annual winter flu.
-
The facts are presently that this variant has been massively overstated, and if we are dealing with ‘ifs and buts’ then surely we should lockdown in case the next one really is bad. Otherwise, we should just carry on taking the sensible precautions in that fir our own personal agendas. It’s quite simple.
-
Right, so they need to make some up for tomorrow then otherwise they’re going to look like they don’t know what the fuck they are talking about, again.
-
So the figures are coming down? Right, confused now as I thought it was ‘out of control’.

What also makes me laugh, we’ll cringe is my FB pals posting ‘Boosted’ like it’s some badge of honor FFS. I get for some people, they feel like it’s a necessity and that’s fine if they feel they need it, but to feel Proud of getting something that we really shouldn’t be doing (in the sense of it’s pretty Imuch chemical warfare) is like saying in the Cold War “I’ve got my nuclear bunker sorted!”

I’ve been wearing a mask for the last couple of days in supermarkets, golf etc. first time for ages but on reflection, why am I doing it? Because I guess, almost subconsciously I was feeling the pressure of standing out, which is very much unlike me. We got people coming round at Christmas so there was a bit of ‘not a good time to catch it’, though it’s not the end of the world if they don’t come and they all had it a few weeks ago. They probably would still come anyway. But one thing that has inspired me not to wear a mask in a supermarket, which is a big open place and I don’t really get close to people, are the twats on here, just brainwashed on the crap that comes out on the media day after day. I think Matts main point was the lack of information, I mean, if we have to have a daily death count, which is fucking ridiculous, then let’s have the average age, let’s have a daily survival count as well. Let’s have a vaccine complication count while we’re at it and let’s have some really hospital % figures, not just the hospitals are overworked. One thing that doctors and nurses have always said, and rightly so to be fair, is that they’re fucking overworked. So let’s see those figures and then we can actually decide what’s really going on. or we can hide behind the sofa like kids watching Dr Who, like some of the absolute bellends on here.

and no checks of course, so that plan is working well

Away end was pretty packed last night though heard plenty of example of people not going who had tickets, which is fine, you have to make the decisions based on how you personally feel about risks etc. However, as I said, the whole ground seemed fairly full and to be me that says that the majority of people just want to take whatever precautions they feel they need to and then just get on with it.
-
I don’t comply with their rules but I enforce my own. For example, off to Palace in a minute and will wear a face covering on the UG because of the space confinement, makes sense of course. I will getting on the main London train and walking through but once sat down it will come off if we have our own 4/6 seater bit. The guys I will be with will be drinking in pubs with me all day, so what’s the point? Far enough from other passengers. Common sense should prevail, I don’t wear one in a supermarket cause I don’t mix with people. I also take a test pretty much every day, just taken one now and I’m negative. Therefore as I’m not worried about getting it, I can morally say that I’m not at risk of infecting others, at least today anyway.
-
And this is one of the reasons I don’t comply.

Wish this Tory government of double standards would just tuck off. But like Trump, they actually get voted in. I guess when you read some of the tripe on this thread then you can understand why. It’s shame that KS isn’t the great white hope we thought he might have been.

Embarrassing to see Savid on TV this morning, looked uncomfortable, didn't know the figures and could not say that this variant was actually medically any worse than the previous. If this is going to be the reaction to every new variant, then we're in for a shitty 'rest of life'.
-
I think SRL would do better than the current crop we have to pick from
-
ok, so if we get the deaths from covid down to 20k, we can forget about it and carry on?
-
But ones too many yeah?
-
and for flu and other transmissible diseases too? so when someone dies of flu (approx 20,000 per year), we should lockdown?
-
has he not answered this yet?
