  1. Even some of the Liverpool lot realise this. Madness. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-hoping-third-time-lucky-7291245 The Moyes strategy of 2013/2014 repeated?
  2. I really had to look for them, tbh.
  3. Steven Davis is the obvious candidate. He captains NI and used to captain Rangers before making the trip south. The only real question is whether he makes the team every week. I can't fault him for effort.
  4. I've actually tried this. Better than Firefox/Waterfox, but chokes with 1080p video just like they do. Good general browser, but I think I'll stick with Chrome for video.
  5. Yes, and so is her father and his cricket bat.
  6. I love wearing older home shirts. This marketing ploy wouldn't work on me. Didn't buy this year's kit. Didn't mind it, but it was a ripoff.
  7. We concur, Tim. Rightly so, if true. Still, wasn't that much contrition. The bit of the interview we saw was mostly about how much he loves MP. Didn't even say Koeman's name out loud, did he?
  8. Cheers, chaps - from the sounds of it, access doesn't seem to be restricted. Their FAQs page implies that people can come and go. http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/campervan-and-caravan-field-faqs/
  9. Brendan: "Unfortunately, Southampton didn't roll over when we tickled their tummy, so they didn't"
  10. Well, given the frequency of posting and the potential quality posts you've got in you, it's a shame for most of your triumphant return to be product placement for your phone Will get tickets if you fancy making the trip.
  11. Here's one for you, KRG. How easy is it to stay on another site? The 18 year old is likely to want to kip with her mates in the camp site. We're over in the campervan place.
  12. 23 or not, she looks like a 14 year old. Source: my 14 year old.
  13. Really looking forward to this now. Seems weird that in a week's time, we'll be zooming off. It's a big deal for our little clan; it'll be the last big thing we all do before Juvenile Unit #1 buggers off to Uni. Wellies should be arriving today. I hope we don't need them. btw, ms pap is starting to get nervous on account of the general lack of cleanliness
  14. Sort your Tapatalk signature out, Dad.
  15. Interesting; not surprising. The rebels in Syria are similarly supported; the situation there must provide ample cover for operations. On Nigeria; there have been a lot of questions raised lately about unpaid remittances and subsidies. http://newtelegraphonline.com/49-8bn-missing-oil-fund-panels-verdict-dissenting-voices/
  16. The setlist should see you right. I'm very interested to see how they go down. I suspect not as many will be as diligent as you, and will just know one or two of their songs. You should be able to get through most of it. It's mostly about repeat play and absorption. The haze will lift and it'll click. Just be glad you don't have to decode Lamb of God for this one I thought you were glamping, Phil. Really looking forward to it too now; not just the music, but all the crazy pre-****. Just hoping that your thunderstorm practice is for another festival.
  17. Thanks Chris; very good piece.
  18. Lallana is a special player; wouldn't be rocking his England shirt otherwise. That's based on an excellent season in form with some standout individual performances. He'll do well at Liverpool; the transfer makes perfect sense for AL and LFC. The sticking point is the dosh, and to recycle some language from last season's window, the super add-on plus-plus "final offer" might be described as "derisory". If Rodgers is a fan of haggling, he can fk off and watch Life of Brian. At this point, I'm relatively ambivalent about things. I can deal with a heftily financed transfer exit to Liverpool, a reformed and repentant captain or even a sulky bugger in the reserves as an example to others that try the same. The only bad outcome is us bowing to pressure and selling him on the cheap.
  19. I haven't seen it directly either, Bear - but we saw the reports on the BBC and elsewhere. All with a degree of separation, but all pushing the issue nonetheless. If the stories did not come from his camp, then where? Why would Blackmore put his reputation on the line to repeat such sentiments? I've seen enough of this media lark to know that stuff is parroted endlessly, so I know you can't equate plurality with credibility. That said, AL could have come out straightaway and said "nope, this story is all bóllocks. I haven't asked to leave the club". Having a word in the club's shell-like is no problem. Rickie did exactly the same, as long ago as December, and no-one thinks any the less of him for it. Going to the media to get your own way is a different story, especially at a time when its club should be celebrating some impressive representation at the World Cup.
  20. Nothing new. When I did A level Politics, our tutor told us that 1 in 6 of our countrymen were unable to find Britain on a map. This was in 1991. Think this is a case of the Internet shining a light on what's always been there, although with Michael Gove at the helm, peeps could conceivably get a lot dumber
  21. It's Tim Roth, innit? He's been excellent in most stuff I've seen him in. He gave an electric performance in Made In Britain and I've kept an eye on him ever since. He really carries the show; it's nowt special - but it is a bit less rigid than similar shows.
  22. The forum awaits hypo's abs shot with baited breath.
  23. Hehe. In some cases, I definitely think there's merit in the wánking alone in bedsit accusations. I think you can be serious, but you'll be a total bore if that's all you do. I've admitted in the past that this place is a dumping ground for stuff I can no longer be arsed discussing with the missus. You're right; she doesn't give a f**k about Saints, my political views or my music tastes. We talk about Game of Thrones and the kids. Think the trick is to be aware of what's going on around you and recognise a wind-up when you see one. Finally, the ignore button is redundant if you can exercise a bit of self control and use the "scroll" function in your browser.
  24. It's completely relevant. A formal transfer request would have put the matter to bed, but AL did not make one because money would be lost. Instead, we get the spectacle of our captain appearing in various news articles effectively saying that the team he leads isn't good enough for him anymore. And of course, once one rolls in, especially the captain, others feel able to make the statement as well. He signed a five year contract last year and committed himself to the club. We all know he'll go if Liverpool stump up enough cash, and we all know he wants to go. Liverpool have used him like a chump, getting him to moan about wanting away instead of putting their fúcking hands in their pockets. He's been idiotic enough to play along. As for Adam's gifts over the years, let's not forget that throughout, he was a professional footballer being paid a wage that'd make the vast majority of us seem like paupers by comparison. He has not worked for free and it's not like the gains haven't been mutual. We've shown huge faith in him as a player and have made him captain in a team that has far likelier leadership candidates. We have done right by him. In recent weeks, he's been the worst sort of ambassador an up and coming club could wish for.
  25. I say this as a total nerd, social recluse, holder of a 10K+ post count. I'll freely admit that my life is f**king boring by most standards. That all said, some people really need to get out more. For me, football is a specialised form of entertainment, another distraction to keep me out of trouble when I'm not doing anything useful. It's specialised because I only really support the Saints; it's also one of the few areas of life which is not decided on best quality. For most Saints supporters, it's an irrational and illogical decision brought about by the accident of being born in or around the city - otherwise we'd be glory boys. Sideshow Bob style, I'm aware of the irony of using the medium of a football forum to decry people on a football forum. To some extent, I suffer from the same problem as yourselves. I'm miserable after a loss, happy after a win and punish the F5 key on transfer deadline day. I'll travel half the country to go to a game, and brother willing, should be pitching up for every home game next year. That, and a bit of debate about the team is enough for me. My level of involvement. Now I'll accept that if you work in the game, football is serious business. I accept that if you like the game, you'll always want to find out more about it, understand it better - some of our best posters do precisely this. My understanding of the game is improved as a result of what they share. That's a far cry from what happens here during a crisis. Worst case scenarios instantly posited and believed. People losing their shít left, right and centre over things that haven't even happened. We've got quite a few posters with absolutely no perspective, and if they get this wound up about something they are so detached from, one can only assume that there isn't a great deal else going on in their lives.
