They're headlining Sonisphere, which means that if people know they're going to Glasto, they might not go there.

Titanfall on 360. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-04-07-titanfall-xbox-360-footage-arrives-online Of course, the amusing thing'll be XBox One owners who previously said "graphics don't matter" now saying how much nicer the One version looks

If I'm being perfectly honest, half the reason I started this thread was to have a snipe at some of my semi-regular correspondents. In doing that, and especially in playing with the Bear, I've probably done the topic something of a disservice. If Snowden is to be believed, the Internet is serious business. Turkey suspended Twitter for weeks recently after some tweets linked a leaked transcript of Turkish commanders ostensibly planning a false flag attack in Syria. The US government also recently setup a Cuban variant of Twitter for disinformation and propaganda purposes. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/04/07/us-cuba-usa-idUSBREA350MO20140407 In terms of bang for your buck, opinion formers on the Internet are worryingly cost-effective.

NME's take on the mysterious third headliner. http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/glastonbury-2014-who-could-be-the-mysterious-third-headliner Their Metallica shout is pretty good. e.g. They could be booked, but can't yet announce due to doing other festivals.

I'd be interested in the intersection of those who don't like Leicester and the fans that sing "you're just a town full of pakis" whenever we go up there. It's rough and ready, sure - but had a good chat with the Leicester bunch after my last visit there. I hope they stay up.

You don't stand for something, you fall for anything. Harder than you think is a beautiful thing. (instructions for use; wait until very sunny day, then cruise around local barrios with tune on full blast and elbow hanging out of window, etc)

I doubt that anyone that gave you the sales tour fled persecution from the Nazis. How old were they? You're impressed by their story? Fair enough. On that basis, I'm a Desert Rat that fought Rommel's armies and came back to tell the tale.

It's like Goatboy says. Take a deep breath and read what you're posting. No harm to you, hypo; but this isn't the first time you've shot from the hip and lived to regret it. If I was really interested in point-scoring, I'd have gone to town on Ludwig's response, which was very smart on that level. While I admire Ludwig's creativity here, putting you down really isn't my interest. Just do a bit of research before signing any direct debit mandates, mucker.

Weird. When people don't understand what I'm saying, I normally elaborate further. Very defensive on this, mucker. Joined a new, "different" church lately?

LIVE DEBATE: The EU - in or out - Clegg vs Farage
pap replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Lounge
Indeed he did, and FWIW, although Bazza and I probably wouldn't be natural mates in Southampton, the boy has his Hampshire about him and seemed pretty normal to me. I didn't feel like I was talking to a nutter, put it that way. An incredibly stubborn person? Potentially different answer solentstars is another boy from the Flower Roads, and I've got a lot of respect for his posts, but I'm not sure how easily anyone can assess the impact, positive and negative, that the EU has made to our lives. There's always going to be a great deal of personal perspective involved. My mate has just moved to Spain and has spent the past week reminding everyone how shít British weather is. I'm sure he loves the EU. An under 25 on the dole (or even their parents) may not be so keen. Clegg never really sold a benefit of the EU, apart from the mobile roaming stuff. Even that isn't really something that can only come about from the tightening political union we find ourselves in. The Union as a whole has already shown that it's willing to suspend democracy to protect repayments to central banks. The entanglement in Ukraine has come about through EU expansion. How many people here really expected Eastern Europeans in the EU equation? How many would wager their lives for Ukraine? It's a massive expansion of horizons absent any real control of our own. -
I'm not having a go at you hypo, and I don't think Halo Stickman is either. I've no doubt that in your best professional judgment, which I'm not calling into question, these people seemed like they were running a sound outfit. As Halo says, these sort of groups are adept at presenting themselves as one thing front and centre, yet having different views behind closed doors. We've got a couple of evangelical churches up here doing similar outreach programs. They were doing alright when they were running foodbanks, but got their pants pulled down over one of their other programs, "pray the gay away". http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-frontline-church-centre-row-3360219 Ultimately, most of these organisations never really say what they're about. When it comes down to it, they want 10% of your income and your unyielding obedience. And no, I'm not a survivor or anything like that; but I've helped a lot of people out of situations where they could be exploited by groups like these.

Already revised opinion here, mostly agree.

Need a better back up keeper. There, I said it. EDIT: As posters above have said, better #1 might not be bad either. Boruc is good when he's available, but his absence really cost us today.

Mwah. Hope we give a better account of ourselves in second half. Kaspar in the summer please, Katharina.

Come on Saints. You can beat this shít.

Needs more content, though. I dug into the "European Union" topic. Read something about filth invading our lands -
I saw this on a plane. Didn't hate it, but felt myself playing "other sci fi film bingo". How many films does this bastard rip off, exactly? Meh.

Crap thread title. Made sense yesterday. Haven't you people heard of dates? Tomorrow is kinda relative, y'know

Predictable quips too, surely?

Great contribution, sir. Week 1 chart, broken down by format. Already linked as post 308, btw. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=789860 Don't let an inability to read and comprehend ruin your reputation as a poster, James.

It's not just one website, hypo - there are plenty out there covering the same sort of treatment from the Bruderhof lot, plenty reporting bad experiences within a movement in control of something you are promoting. I'm not even singling them out either. Quite a few religious groups ostracise their members if they fall out of line. Who in this circumstance has the most credence? These people offering articulate accounts, or you (and me, if I took you up on the visit challenge) spending a couple of days listening to a sales pitch? No disrespect, mate - but I see a lot of religious groups claiming to be one thing ("nice and forward thinking" - look at our teaching methods) and being something else ("you disagree. you are banished. never speak with fellow church members again"). Potentially putting a kid into the care of people with those sort of ideas is not something I would countenance.
-
This organisation that you are praising so much is financed by an overall movement that seems to exclude its members when they offer any sort of dissent. Given the guiding principles and the apparent vengefulness of the parent organisation, do you think it is appropriate that one of their companies should be entrusted with the development of children?
-
Actually, hypo - I think Grey Crab may have a point. Community Playthings is run by Church Communities UK. They're part of the Bruderhof. http://www.perefound.org/em-s_sp.html Fill your boots, sir.

Oddly enough, I'm a Green. That is an excellent site, btw.
