  1. Yeah, as I said in the other thread, there's a reason that this bloke is the chap is their go-to conspiracy guy. After his performance on Piers Morgan show, the Sunday Politics can't have been in the dark as to what they were getting.
  2. Hey wow. You've found a video of Alex Jones kicking off. You've also started a UI-style thread on SaintsWeb. I know it might have seemed like your life has been wasted to this point, but a true believer can see that everything you have done in life so far has merely been the lead-up to this crowning double-achievement. Good for you.
  3. That's quite alright, Polaroid - and rather a noble way to expend your efforts. There is a lot of satisfaction to be had from refinement.
  4. Very nice comeback, Glasgow. So nice that when you do re-invite, I may even shorten my accept delay to 2 months instead of 3.
  5. What's all this nonsense about professional pride being bruised or nerves being touched? I appreciate the climbdown and retraction of your out-of-date comment, but the part of me that used to hire developers and sniff out professional bullsh!tters has got blood in his nostrils now. When asked for detail of end product, you start at the beginning, with heroic tales of soldering PCB boards together and writing code from nothing. If that's genuinely what you do, why are you doing it? If you came back to me and told me you were Frankensteining ATI cards together to build a low-cost bitcoin miner, I might be amazingly impressed. As it is, it just comes across and vague and directionless. Now, I appreciate that you may have started out way earlier in this industry than I did, and may be approaching things from a different level of abstraction. I think that the first computer I ever saw in someone's home was a kit computer, where the owner had done all the things you say that you do. Built the machine. Soldered bits together. Coding with nothing more than a reference to the various hardware registers that he had in his machine. I take my hat off to him. Tremendous achievement in 1981. These days, I think you'd have to have pretty specific reasons for hitting the metal at such a low level. What are yours?
  6. It's not the only factor, otherwise China would be perpetual world champions. However when nations do care about football and have a strong league, population does help. International football teams can only pick from their own nationals.
  7. Norway is a country of 5m people. To your point, they do better than most countries of a similar size at qualifying for international tournaments, if not very fun to watch once there. As for why Forren hasn't played this year? Only people in the club will know that. Worst case scenario; he's a load of crap on a big contract that'll siphon money from the coffers. Best case scenario; wasn't ready for the cut and thrust of a relegation dogfight / needed hols.
  8. Y'see, if you'd looked at the post above there CB, you'd have seen me already admit my mistake. It's called humility, matey Do continue wasting everyone's time, though.
  9. Ah, might be my bad. Says he has played 81 games in total from 2009 onwards with Blackpool in between. Potentially crap example, but the general point is that "full international" isn't a term that can be bandied about as if it's equal. Full Spanish international not making the team, such as with Casillas at Real Madrid, is one thing. Full Norwegian international from Norway is something else. And yeah, I acknowledge that there are anomalies like Ibra who seem to sparkle in comparison with their international team mates, but generally, a full international from a big nation is likely to be better quality than full international from a smaller one - something that has been borne out by the results of major international tournaments.

    Solent City FC

Weirdly enough, that's the official colour of Liverpool City Council and hence, the colour of my attractive bin.
  11. Signed up for 5 1/2 year extension jan 2012. Hasn't really featured for Everton since 2010 - been playing his football for Blackpool. Fact check, CB?
  12. 27/28 and playing for a country that has more people to choose from? Norway has got the same population as the Republic of Ireland ( probs a bit less ). Why are the likes of Everton signing up people like Seamus Coleman ( 24, full international with ROI ) for five and a half years?
  13. I hate to think of Glasgow as having the burden of too many friends. I have taken action.
  14. The first helpful suggestion I gave remains the best. i.e. go buy PC Pro and pick the best in your price range. I mentioned the Dell because they are decent machines with some good finance options, and Bazza's price range was limited. I rather enjoyed your attempt at the end to label gamers as perpetual man-children. Of course, there are two main problems with your closing statements. First, I'm not sure whether you've noticed, but geeks have done a pretty good job of inheriting the Earth. Gaming is something enjoyed by people of all ages. The other problem I have is your stated "purpose", if you can call it that, on PCs. Tweaking OSs and hardware? To what end? It genuinely sounds like the most boring thing ever. Could you explain a bit about exactly what it is you tweak? Are you soldering 6502s into ZX Spectrums as some kind of sick joke? Making the fonts really big, then really small? Switching between a Windows-managed page file and one where you determine the size yourself? Toggling ClearType on and off to marvel at Microsoft's font-smoothing tech? I'm just going to keep making stuff up, so please, let me know what it is about tweaking operating systems and hardware is so damned interesting, and I'd be particularly interested in how that helps you afterward.
  15. ^^ Pretty much why you can't buy a laptop without help
  16. Ah, you lost me at the "I don't play games on my PC" bit. That creative output term is a bit vague and catch all. What are you talking about, exactly? Word processing? Word Perfect on a 286 was good enough for that.
  17. Actually got an overclocked i5, not an i7, in my own machine. Not a laptop though. Let's hear your up to date IT knowledge before you impugn mine, eh - JPTCount

    Green shoots?

Over the long term, prices should stabilise if the laws of supply and demand come into effect, assuming, of course, that the house building that this scheme will generate creates enough supply. We're looking at a Redrow place at the moment, and they're already building two new developments in the area to keep up with demand. The one thing that puts me off is potential value for money. The place we're looking at is £225K. There are similar sized places in the same area that have been there for ages going for £160-180K. If you've got the deposit, the latter looks a much better deal.
  19. I've got it, but am a little disappointed with the quality of the textures on my iPad3. Actually, I'm a little disappointed with my iPad3 full-stop, but that's another story. It really is one of the most memorable games I've ever played, and probably constitutes one of the best Star Wars experience since the original movies. It's all there; the big twist, the utter revulsion at f**ked up Sith without their armour on, light-sabers, people who say "I've got a bad feeling about this", etc. If you're a fan of this, you really owe it to yourself to play the Old Republic on PC for a month or two. Yes, it's an MMO; but the main class sagas are on a par with KOTOR's, and you get eight of them
  20. I bet this is the most excitement he's had in weeks, bless him.
  21. I'm sure he's thrilled to have the support of such a respected poster.
  22. Check the nets, bear! And the other conspiracy threads! It's the same people, dude! Same people! Can you get a positive ID on Verbal? He dissed my appearance earlier and I want to know if he is better looking, etc.
  23. Lordy. You have some front, Verbal - I'll give you that. I've never seen one person get so many things wrong on one thread and still try the discredit tactic. Gemmel posted a link to the incomparable Captain Edmund Blackadder earlier in the thread. Your continued efforts to plough the same f**ked furrow remind me of Melchett's brilliant plan to beat the Bosche; doing the exact same thing he did seventeen times before. Doing it again would be the last thing the Bosche would expect, which was according to Melchett, "precisely so it's so brilliant". The Germans weren't fooled by Melchett's one trick; I'm not fooled the few you have to offer. Ignore the difficult, seize on the stuff you can cherry pick and invent the rest. Some may mistake that for something approaching intelligent debate, but I'm less impressed. I've actually been stuck behind some pretty harsh corporate Internet security measures for the past couple of days, which is why one of the reasons I haven't posted more often on this (the other being out of respect for JustMike's wish to bring things back on-topic - sorry in advance, JustMike) Didn't post at all yesterday, so I was amazed to see Verbal weighing in again, replying to no-one. His entire SaintsWeb experience involves replying to me, inventing things about me, or as we saw yesterday, getting so wound up over the course of the day that even without one iota of "me" stimulus, he's still posting about me. And I'm the one who is obsessed? lolz, or whatever it is the nippers say these days.
  24. Went to a wedding up in Cumbria and went past the sign. I wondered if the town got its name from one resident bloke who was spectacularly gifted at pleasing the ladies.
  25. Even so, Real's interest in him at an early age is encouraging.
