  1. Crass stereotyping maybe, but is anyone feeling like Saints have been greased up and put over the proverbial barrel here? These feckers are worse than RyanAir for hidden charges. I shan't be be doing my weekly shop in Italy following this less than stellar vicarious customer experience.
  2. You should check out Bully. In many ways, a spiritual successor. Never got to play Back to Skool in the day. One of the few games the speccy boys could use to lord over us. We had sound, though
  3. I don't work in games; hit the cross-bar there, but have some friends in the industry. Met Jeff Minter via a mate who was hooking up talent to hirers at the time. They'd been out partying, and turned up at mine.
  4. Second only to trolls, I believe.
  5. Nah, he's from the same neck of the woods as me. Most of us aren't as depressed though
  6. Chin up, Alps. Plenty of time and the last few days are always mental. If no change by the end of the week I'll happily jump on the grief-wagon.
  7. Yes, really. One of the vids that came up when I was first looking into him (never heard of him before last week). I live in Liverpool and certain LFC fans, Missus and daughter included,do my f*cking head in.
  8. They also have a Gaston Ramirez -welcome to Liverpool vid on YouTube
  9. Wears his boots like Gaston Depresses sad SaintsWeb fruits like Gaston!
  10. Why does he need big shoulders? Is it your expectation that people will wipe their dirty pants on him?
  11. I hope you enjoy the remaining free speech that you have, Glasgow. Bearsy will own you when Gaston signs.
  12. That part of the world is a real mix. Shame we're on such bad terms with the Argies really. Buenos Aires is often referred to as the Paris of South America.
  13. I pick you as the "no bloke" I will own
  14. That's a great suggestion. Given the numbers, each of the "yes" crowd will own slightly more than one of the no crowd ( 42% vs 58%, basically ). How do we handle the fractional component? Some kind of timeshare ( you own hypo for a week, then someone else gets him ) or even some kind of mind-share ( each yes man taking in a proportion of no man's personal prejudice). Which no bloke will you adopt, Bearsy?
  15. Not sure gloatings is the appropriate term. I more or less saw it as "if he signs, the 'yes' crowd owns the 'no' crowd". Could you live with that, Bearsy?
  16. You'd think so, but I doubt it. Saints fans seem to be undergoing an identity crisis at the moment. Ok, we're definitely not a CL team, but then, we're not the debt-ridden operation of old either.
  17. Well, fair play to you for sticking your neck out. At least you have had the good sense to be able to change your opinion over the course of the thread. Not quite sure how supersonic is going to cope though.
  18. Fairly sure I've met one of your heroes judging from all the Jaguar and Llamatron references. Jeff Minter turned up at my gaff late one night. Think it was around the time he'd signed the deal to provide the visualiser for the 360. Peed on my bathroom floor, as Ms pap always likes to remind me
  19. Mileage does tend to vary. Know that Russia is not part of the EU, but they seem to be at the other end of the scale when it comes to foreign imports.
  20. This is probably the point where you'd go running to a mod screaming "sarcasm". Enjoy your day, hypo.
  21. Like yourself, stuck my neck out with a yes vote on the poll and backed it up with my reasoning here. Whether he signs or not, I don't think anyone who is now treating this transfer as outside the realms of possibility. If it breaks down, it is not because Southampton FC can't get a player at this level.
  22. No one heads like Gaston Does nutmegs like Gaston Inspires incredibly long SaintsWeb threads like Gaston. The Gaston saga goes on!
  23. Freight was excellent. I love the A-Team improvised crime stuff, but man, what a gut punch at the end. I've seen the following episode too. Breaking Bad is consistently providing excellent opening scenes at the moment. The opener that followed Freight was brilliant; so sensitive to what had just come before. But yep, excellent episode. Really looking forward to the conclusion.
  24. Why not reply to the fella on Twitter, Norm?
  25. That is very similar to my machine odyssey, TDD. Started out with a C16, upgraded to a C64, got the Amiga 500. Had the NES and Megadrive around that time too (you could actually plug your Megadrive controllers into your Amiga - and one or two games even recognised the extra buttons). First PC in 1994, and until very recently, have owned every console ever released (multiples of some, including XBox orig, 360, Saturn and DS). My advice to you if you love the old style stuff is to check out iPad games, XBOX Live games and PS3 downloadable titles. You should also play the Portal games, the last ones I played that genuinely seemed magical.
