GoldenEye was N64, I think - but what a game. Difficulty on single player was perfect, particularly as you ramped up to Secret Agent and suchlike. Extra goals, more aware enemies. The bunker on single player was one of the best designed levels I've ever played. Basically had to headshot everything in a very precise, very quiet way for most of the level. Toward the end you pick up a pair of silenced Walther PPKs. That shift from complete sneakery to balls out blasting was genius. And multiplayer, like you say, absolutely amazing - to the extent where I'm surprised I ended up getting a degree

Chap who still posts under his original username

I'm not disputing the fact that some people reply directly to Alps. Most don't. It's a sad little "me too" response that only occurs because people feel empowered by what others have said. Look at the post I weighed in on, for example. Not a reply - just a call for a ban.
-
No one accused you of anything. You were asked a question, to which your only response was "you've gone off on a tangent". If it was just people arguing with Alps, that'd be fair enough. But it's not. People are jumping on with "me too" responses calling for him to be banned. They are reacting to the reaction, not to Alps' posts.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree with pretty much all of it. Herd bullying happens because most of the herd are too weak to operate alone. And, btw - if Alps stopped posting today, you'd probably all be speaking about him for the next 5 years. Interesting way of putting it tho, mate. "no-one would have any reason to think of him" That your endgame, is it? Would you like people to think of you instead?

Ramirez is 149 years old and is "easy to open"?

Is this about the song for Mayuka?

People react. That's the key. Alps and I have clashed. He has said some things I consider to be idiotic. I'm sure he thinks the same of me. I have no problem with that, and one thing I will say about Alps is that he's decent enough to hit you head on. I know full well that Alps is trying to get a reaction out of people. I commend him for every time he manages it. I've definitely took the hook enough times. As distasteful as Alps' opinions may sometimes be, and despite the fact that much of the stuff he posts is designed to wind people up, those "crimes" pales in comparison when set against what appears to be a herd-mentality bullying session. I don't get it. Do people think they're going to attract kudos by pointing out what is painfully obvious? Are people so fragile that they can't read one of his posts without exploding into reply-rage? F*cking sort it out, chaps.

Sorry mate. I'm in the minority. Dragged up on a council estate, etc, etc. Indelibly colours your views. I just think you're a grass.

We could get the same quality as Green at a much lower price. Getting a packet of butter and smearing it on Kelv's gloves before each game, for example. A much cheaper way to get the same end result.

I'm not really a fan of shirt sponsorship or brands for that matter. Love my sponsorless retro kit, also love the sash kit. Both look much classier than the ones plastered in hoardings. I'd pay a small premium for a kit without the sponsor. Bet a lot of people would too.

Ah yes. So much like Super Mario Brothers that by time Nintendo's legal department had finished, you couldn't actually buy the thing!

Ah, c'mon. Nice to have a little variety. Bloke descending onto a thread, admitting that it's not what he thought it to be, then speaks about it anyway. He was undeterred by his initial confusion. Hats off, I say!

The Turkish project to defuse the word has obviously succeeded.

Don't mince your words, Saint_Donovan!

"No, I want platinum fences you moron! PLATINUM!" I admit it. I'm just jealous.

That is rather amusing, considering where he ended up.

Best team in Stevenage mate, and we mullered them Man Utd next, and they're not even the best team in Manchester.

Well, I always thought the restrictions on transfer budgets and wages were a short term thing while they made the transition to the Emirates. Seems like they can't keep a player. Perhaps they're thinking financial fair play and learning to live within their means ahead of time. Perhaps they just don't rate Theo as highly as he values himself. The wage structure, along with what is on offer elsewhere, is crippling that club. Even worse now that so many players are in financially warmer climes and probably telling their former team-mates how much greener the grass is on the other side. Like I say, they may be ahead of the curve - but it must be bloody frustrating to be an Arsenal fan right now, and each defecting player just makes further defections more likely.
-
Gotta say, in two minds about this myself. The idealist in me thinks it's a great idea. Short term, sort it out, bish bash bosh, etc. The cynic just says it's a bridgehead to get noticed. Dispensing with the personality, I think the merits of the policy are pretty good. Just not sure about the motives, is all.

Looks like he's on his way. This normally only goes one way at Arsenal. Liverpool and City alerted. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/28/theo-walcott-rejects-arsenal-deal

He was on fire during pre-season. Not every effort is going to be goal of the season material, but I love the way he seems to find them from nowhere. (tonight's effort not included )

Caught them just in time thanks to this post. Ta.

We're not going to get relegated. I appreciate that "nil points" is not a great return on the two games we've played, but that hardly signals Premier League oblivion. Everton are currently confounding pundits by not having a totally crap start to the season. Wigan couldn't buy points at the start of last season. In our previous stints in the top tier, we've suffered defeat week after week and still survived. So here's why I don't think we'll get relegated. First, I think we'll strengthen before the end of the window. The Ramirez deal is edging closer and there are some encouraging reports surrounding other potential targets. NA and NC know we need more in defence. They can't not. If we make it to the end of the window without acquisitions I'll be completely wrong, but hey, neck stuck out. Next, there's such a thing called form. Teams go on runs, beat teams they shouldn't, while others collapse. Finally, consider our relegation rivals. QPR are a timebomb - never rated Sparky as a manager; the shopping spree, etc. Cannot believe he keeps getting top flight jobs. People will point to West Ham's "difficult to beatness", but I suspect that is a reputation they will quickly lose under better opposition. Honestly don't think Swansea will struggle, and I rate Hughton - but keeping Norwich up might be difficult this year. We'll also see other relegation candidates emerge during the season ( chickens at Blackburn of last year, etc). Whatever, it's the start of the season. I may revise my opinion if we hit the deadline with no new players, but I think we'll be alright. We are going to be thoroughly depressed at points, anxious at others and occasionally, bloody elated. Welcome to the big league, boys and girls. (We'll be alright).
