  1. Some good picks there. Had an NES instead of a Master System, so didn't really play much Alex Kidd. Haven't played Heroes of Might and Magic either, but the rest are bonafide classics. Wings is a personal favourite. Never completed it. Got spanked whenever Bloody April rolled around. Could never bring myself to continue with a new pilot. Someone really needs to do a serious WW1 flight combat game again. You ever play Knights of the Sky or Red Baron, TDD?
  2. The old computer game forum doesn't get much love. I reckon that there are a sizeable proportion of forum members who indulge in a bit of gaming - I happen to love computer games (when I'm not feeling guilty at spending time on them). Recently, I've been playing Sid Meier's Pirates! on the iPad. It occurs to me that I've been playing that game, or a version of it, for over 20 years now. I'm also keenly aware that I have other "go to" games. Tekken, for example, is my fighting series - mostly because I spend a lot of time getting pretty good at Tekken 2, and my brothers still play it. I'd happily play Mario Kart until they stop making it (or alternatively, I am physically unable to play it) too. Thinking about it, there are tons of games that have been very influential. Think Metal Gear Solid gave me my first real idea of what gaming could be. Grand Theft Auto 3 too on PS2, but for totally different reasons (c'mon, who wasn't floored by being able to explore a 3D city?). Those are just a few off the top of my head. What are the games of your life?
  3. Didn't go to the game - just listened to the boys on Solent. Sounds like it was a disappointing and deserved loss. Going to happen. Just hope that this highlights the need for reinforcements. Losing 0-2 to Wigan at home? I feel like a Saints fan again now.
  4. Why would this be the case? All that a club can reasonably infer is that we don't want to pay 15 million net ( from Bologna's point of view ). Says nothing about the other transfers we're looking at, nor about the other money we're prepared to spend. Transfers are a case-by-case thing. If anything, I think the way that the club has gone about things with respect to the Bologna transfer makes signings at a reasonable price more likely. If we'd stumped up the extra cash for that immediately, we could realistically expect to be weakened in future negotiations.
  5. Seconded. Fight the (lust for) power, JustMike.
  6. Only if you don't know the person wearing it. The dude with the shinpads probably needs help.
  7. Apologies for genuine Winkers out there ( our cuddly friends from Winchester, of course ) - but wanted to share something I found closer to home. Had to bit.ly the link because some of the link text is rude. e.g. It isn't "winker". http://bit.ly/OdKjRe Full kit 'winkers' in the Liverpool style.
  8. The write-up linked earlier says he can play as a striker and a winger. It is only recently that he gas been playing left wing. Can see him on either side of our 433. Seems to be able to adapt.
  9. You'd think so, but I doubt it.

    Hamsters

Don't necessarily assume that a no-moving hamster is a dead one. They hibernate. The missus "resurrected" one of ours with a hair dryer.

Yup. Exactly how I assessed junior unit #1. Even told her she'd never beat my score, because that's good motivating (with that defiant one anyways ). My plan for the next on is to inform her that she'll never beat her sister's score. We're all very competitive in this house.
  12. Yeah alright, mate. So erm what about last year's meltdown because someone closed the big HCDAJFU thread? Or all the times we've agreed on the euro? Or when you've been chastised for bullying teenagers. That last point alone puts your moral high ground on spanking well underground. Still, gotta have something to do in your bedsit, eh mush? x
  13. Bless ya Dig Dig. Hypo doesn't have a strong opinion that isn't designed to wind someone else up

That is an excellent score. Happy house tonight? It's been ace here today.
  15. Wet toilet paper was more what I was aiming for, warm water from a tap, for example.
  16. I've had the same opinion the whole time. Call it wishful thinking or delusions, but I'll be right or wrong by the end of the window. It has been a fascinating one to observe - everyone using the press and social media to influence opinion. The only thing that kills this deal is another bid, and with the way Bologna have acted during this transfer, can't see many clubs lining up to do business with them.
  17. See, so many reasons to be positive!

When Andy makes his meteoric rise to Lib Dem leader on a de-Cleggification ticket, you'll be able to say "hur, I used to bully him online when he was a teenager".
  19. Can anyone bring me up to speed on genuine transfer targets apart from Ramirez?
  20. Ah, the age old "what's the best way to wipe your butthole debate". Bidet all the way, people. If you can't do that, at least have the decency to wet-wipe until "you can no longer see brown". In this world of artificial divisions, few things unite the human race as much as extreme distaste for someone who smells of sh!t.
  21. Yes, if Hans Gruber and a splinter group from the Volks Prime movement took over St Marys for an entire season before being disarmed by a man with a vest. Also, like what Bane got up to The Dark Knight rises. How could Saints possibly fulfil their fixtures? Each match would be a forfeit. In those circumstances, we could be relegated without management culpability. Isn't that right, Alps?
  22. He is usually correct. He turned out to be wrong on the ol' "Adkins for the chop very quickly" by-line that turned up in the People. I tweeted him on that and he back-pedalled, so maybe his continual insistence that deal is still on is a good sign. Even with the thing he got wrong, looks like he got some of that right. Said flat-out that Cortese had lofty ambitions in the transfer department, and here we are.
  23. Lovely stuff.

Excellent. Can you give me a lend of your old boys network when I implement my socialist revolution?

Bread was awesome at the time. Got worse when Peter Howitt left, though.
