  1. He would have agreed under the terms of the "play nice and we'll let you move" agreement that is probably in place. I like your optimism, but don't get your hopes up. It only leads to millions in the bank and quality replacements.
  2. He'll be back. Maybe not as a player, although I'd have him back in a flash if Liverpool wanted rid.
  3. Superb. Great to see MLT back in official material. Lambert is great too.
  4. Nope, I'm simply referring to the fact that if you sell "time" and time only, people will take the píss in ways that they would not if for example, you sold something tangible. Not sure you're getting my point. There is good overtime and bad overtime. Good overtime is when you get paid for it. Bad overtime is when you're expected to work for free and that time is not tracked.
  5. Depends on whether the overtime is official or not. If you're in the business of renting your brain out as a timeshare (many of us are in that category) then employers always take the píss.
  6. Alpine is very much yesterday's man due to results, whereas Turks has managed to continue under these "difficult" circumstances.
  7. Already did this. Toby Alderweireld to the tune of Highway to Hell. Simple. Effective. Fits the many syllables.
  8. If you called an Indian or Sri Lankan a Pakistani you probably wouldn't be fine, or at the very least, would be corrected. I think half the problem with the term "Paki" is that it's applied to far too many people. The other half of the problem is the context in which it's used.
  9. Was in Southampton and speaking to a fellow poster. While I don't mind Turks, other poster specifically mentioned him and said he was a c**t. That there boys, is what we like to call mongboard glory. Escaped into real life, y'see.
  10. So if you're working for free, during normal work hours, how exactly do you find yourself paid work? You reckon prospective employers would open their doors on a weekend to interview someone else's slave?
  11. Taylor Swift has pulled all her music from Spotify. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/nov/03/taylor-swift-spotify-artists-discography-streaming-services I believe KRG has already cancelled his subscription
  12. Well, at least you're now thinking outside of the box. However, a robust policy platform for my presumed Prime Ministerial career isn't really required here. I could simply rely on a Tory virtue and have done with it. Work should pay. This particular example is completely unacceptable. The guy was let go on minimum wage by the company, then forced to work for the same company to get benefits that he wouldn't have needed if he wasn't let go. It clearly demonstrates how the policy is removing paid work from the economy. The "beauty" of this case is that it happens to the same bloke, so the causality is all the more apparent. This is all against the backdrop of HMRC forgiving large corporations billions in tax, which I'd guess would be pretty handy for paying benefits when companies make indifferent decisions about how many people they'll employ here. There are times to be a tub-thumping apologist for your favourite political football team. This isn't one of them.
  13. Job creation, affordable housing, re-prioritisation of funding, renegotiation with banks and central bankers. I suppose most of all, having a mind capable of seeing past the "either-or" binary buttfúck of a choice given to you by lying politicians.
  14. Bloke let go from company. Refuses to work for same company unpaid for 26 weeks on a community work placement. Loses benefits. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/nov/03/dwp-benefits-electrician-work-placement-labour?CMP=share_btn_tw The whole policy is f**king disgraceful anyway, but this is especially messed up.

The 80s is an interesting comparison. The Conservative government of the day was truly polarising. The alternative comedy scene reacted to Thatcher and her policies, took the píss beautifully. Spitting Image was superb. Perhaps the relatively bland entertainers we have these days are a reflection of the centrist teflon twáts we have now. Or maybe I'm getting old In the music world, people like Bono had credence because they were involved in Live Aid, and rightfully so. These days, your pop stars are more likely to be fronting Mastercard, appearing on one of Cowell's TV shows, or both. It could be argued that the mainstream media has reflected the general political apathy in the population. People like Brand represent a transition into media reflecting general dissatisfaction and getting a wee bit wider. Personally, I'm glad he does his videos. He talks about off-the-menu concepts that have no coverage on mainstream television, many of great interest to anyone suffering in austerity Britain. The fact that most just aren't going to take him at face value is probably a benefit. People will be inclined to do their own research to determine whether the info checks out. It'll only be jealous nobbers that go around holding "successful people that get listened to" in contempt that have a real issue.
  16. I maintain a small interest in this thread now, but I've got to say, I'm really not arsed anymore. But please, don't let me stop the rest of you. This thread should be required reading for any player thinking of doing the offs

And that really is fair criticism. Potentially interested in the message, put off by the messenger.

I probably keep up with more media than most. The 9 points clear of Chelsea shít is disrespectful to both us and the maxim "the league don't lie". It is borne of a big club bias; if United were in our shoes on Saturday, Chelsea would be "four points clear of United". Simple as. That said, while there have been very few pundits to stick their neck on the line for top four qualification, our ongoing knack of winning games has made the punditry a lot less patronising, although how much of that is down to self-preservation, I don't know. We've shown most of the punditry world up with our league position. These are people that are paid because they supposedly know what they're talking about, repeatedly having to eat humble pie and admit they were wrong. If we're still there or thereabouts at the end of the season, expect a huge disturbance in the force, as if a billion Alan Hansens had suddenly cried out "you can't win anything with kids". Never did his career any harm, though

trousers does that one better. Doesn't have the slightest whiff of desperation when he deploys it.

Coming from you, that's glorious. I'm sure everyone appreciated both your attempt at a smackdown, plus the eventual delivery. Find life, Tim. Crying on an Internet forum after someone beat you to the chase isn't it.

Then I answered your question already. I'm not sure what you're trying to do here, but if you want my advice, the good you can do to yourself (assuming you're not a complete sociopath) will probably involve doing less of this, perhaps a bit more of looking after yourself. If you could lose enough weight to see your cock, that'd be a start, I reckon. I thought you people were supposed to be jolly. See? I could have used my powers for good there, but didn't. I can see why you're so confused.

Stop answering questions with questions, Tim.

I think "anyone" is the universal set. Some people choose not to use their gifts for the betterment of others. I'd say that unless someone is a complete sociopath, they have the capability for good. Is it your contention that Jacob Rothschild is a complete sociopath?

Anyone is capable of doing good in the world.

Think it's worth listening to people on a point by point basis. Zac Goldsmith has a decent point about food travelling too far. I don't really agree with Brand's endorsement of the EU. Acting as a permanent unpaid judge that decides that someone is irredeemable is not something that interests me.
