Can't understand the rush myself. Perhaps the England coach might want to remind the players in the squad that there's the small matter of a World Cup to concentrate on. There'll be plenty of time for thinking about the future once that is over.
-
I can understand why a number of supporters I getting a bit uppity. I successful season comes to an end with 3 Saints players heading off to the World Cup. Then the manager departs leaving a bit of a vacuum. Next a popular international forward is apparently off too for a modest fee with the prospect that the other two of Saints England players will soon be out of the door. Without any firm news of plans for the future of course rumours fly about the place. It's only natural that fans' heads should be swimming somewhat even if some are shouting "Don't Panic!".

I suspect we'll be looking at the Championship in a year's time. You don't change half the team and expect to survive at Saints level.
-
Presumably permission for talks would have been granted but I tend to agree. It has the look of Saints simply reacting to events elsewhere. Whether that is true or not I have no idea but the appearance is one of novice swimmers surrounded by sharks.
-
Well, after the end of en excellent season and having sided with those that encouraged patience and trust in the board I decided to sit and wait on events. Sure there was plenty of paper talk about the lack of ambition at Saints and that we could expect to see plenty of departures in the coming months but without any insight myself I assumed plenty would be going on to try and keep things together. It is starting to look as though I was rather naive. MP is obviously on his way to what can only be described as a graveyard of managers. The heart of the team seems to be looking elsewhere to fulfil their ambitions and the squabbling among the fans is well under way. The evidence to hand so far makes me think I'll be spending the coming season wondering how many points will be needed for 17th place. All rather disappointing really.

Saints 1 Manchester Utd 1 - Post Match Reaction

Not a bad season at all. Now for the World Cup. -
I lived in Woolston for years & years and went to school in Sholing. Support your local team. Well done Sholing.

When Saints learn how to shoot (& score) they'll be a pretty good team. Yet again ref misses a nailed on handball for a penalty.
-
Thought Davis was was indifferent today. Unusually hesitant.
-
Inconclusive on the stream I looked at. Given that Cardiff we so darn poor though I don't think we should be relying on refs to give us anything. All that possession up to the edge of their area and then hardly a shot for Marshall to save. The crossing today was pants on the few occasions we didn't try and stroll through the middle.
-
Can't think of anyone that deserves a MotM today. Almost looked like they didn't really care.
-
Dear oh dear. Embarrassing stuff.
-
Cardiff can't be that bad again in the 2nd half. Yet again Saints dominate without getting the ball in the net. The longer it goes without scoring the more I'm certain that Bellamy willnick it for them.
-
Controlled the game first half. Apart form the score of course. Get to half time at 1-1 and things might have been different but lino was obviously wearing blue today. All that possession didn't result in enough shots though. Same story all season.
-
Looked a bit ropey in defence. Some reasonable possession but starting giving it away 2nd half. The lack of penetration up front cost us there. And the lino as well of course.
-
Squandered so many good chances (again) and still easily won that. Have to be pleased. England has players on form as well.
-
Handed that to Spurs. Could moan that we should've had a couple of free kicks in the lead up to their first two goals but the 3 points were just handed to them on a plate.
-
Coasting and then just hand them a couple of goals. Not very professional was it? And that Lovren injury doesn't look too good either. Still at least it's a win. It wouldn't be Saints if we didn't try and screw things up from a comfortable position.
-
Shambolic.
-
The defence has been looking to gift them a goal all game.
-
It's turned into a dreadful game. Little urgency from Saints. Defence looking to screw up at any moment. Too many balls (I'd hardly call them passes) going astray. I think we're missing Lambert.
-
If only Saints could turn their superiority into more goals. It really is just about the only thing that's lacking at the moment. Totally in control of this game and should be further ahead.
-
Too many missed chances yet again. Had anything gone in during that first half then it might have been different. Second half we really didn't create much at all. Gaston looked good for 5 minutes but then spent the rest of the half giving the ball away. Looks like the season is going to drift away now. Not even a cup to aim for.
-
The problem for Saints has been obvious for some time now. Dreadful finishing.
-
The difference is Liverpool get bodies in the box and know how to finish.
