Jeez! Leicester are rubbish.
-
Just tuned in. Sounds like a practice match. Leicester look like they've given up.
-
Yeah, he did well. 'Keepers playing well seems to be a recurring theme at St Mary's. Maybe it's about time the opposition turned up with someone prepared to give us a Bart Blackpool-style performance.
-
Monday evening's referee will be Mr Eddie Ilderton. Ilderton has never taken charge of a West Ham United game but has refereed one Leicester City game this season. He was the man in black for the Foxes 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Millwall.

... or silly mistakes and poor finishing. Our form has been reasonable in the last two home games but I thought we were just a tad pedestrian in our attack. An early goal (or two) against Coventry should allow us to finish the season as well we started it. What would worry me a bit is 0-0 after an hour or so with the tension rising. Could be the chance for someone to be a hero.

I reckon I'll watch a couple of old black & white episodes of The Saint to try and take my mind off things. Not sure that I'll be able to resist a peek from time to time though.

Oh there's no doubt for me. I want Leicester to do us a real favour tonight. A nice comfy win and a demoralised looking West Ham will be just the ticket. Not sure how well the nerves would be able to stand up to the next few days should WHU manage a win.
-
That's pretty much how I expect it go too. Not sure if that's what I want though. Five nil up inside 20 minutes and I might just start to relax a bit.

It was a good strike and on target but in the air a long time and far from nestling in the top corner. I just wonder whether Kelvin might think he could have saved it. I'm not criticising him but am offering an opinion. Of course it was a stupid free kick to give away in the first place and that's where my criticism lies.
-
Looked to me like the ball cleared the wall by some distance. I expect Kelvin will be disappointed not to have got to it.
-
Yep. Was there for that. ManUre weren't really interested and would have rolled over if Saints had applied anything like the commitment of the Pahars team v Everton.

This problem with Saints performances on TV is really odd. Pretty hard to put a finger on the reason for the indifferent displays but I'd hope the matter is being addressed. Promotion will bring with it far more TV exposure and altered kick offs.

Could I just say that I'm really rather fond of wet fannies but it would seem that the OP rather strangely uses the term as a form of abuse. As a matter of interest what term would be used to describe someone that is not a wet fanny. Hard p rick perhaps?

I'm not so sure that anyone's scared of Coventry. It's Saints inconsistency and silly errors that I find somewhat perturbing. Of course, if I could choose our opponents for next weekend then Coventry would be high on the list but which Saints team will turn up? It could just as easily be either 6-0 or 0-1 .
-
Very true and what many have been saying since last year. I guess that makes you a wet fanny too.
-
Me. West Ham have been choking for weeks. I'm hoping they'll continue to do so. Saints are quite good, that is true, but not quite as good as in the early months of the season. They've also become inconsistent and prone to silly errors which is why I harbour some doubts about their ability to get across the line in 2nd. The odds are they will but it's far from guaranteed.
-
Enough points in the bag by Easter? Optimism? Confidence? Yeah, I know. I'm a wet fanny. Sorry about that.
-
I'm surrounded by Reading fans that seem a little surprised that Saints handed them the title so easily. All the talk around me is of trophy bus parades and life in the Premiership next season while I look around for glimmers of hope that Saints can get there too. So, yes, I feel a bit down. I'm hoping that Leicester City can bring some early relief to this wet fanny.

Had to have a few pints last night to try and calm down a bit. This morning I'm trying to get a bit of perspective. Saints were brilliant in the first minute and good enough to win the game during the early part of the 2nd half, up until the ref forgot where his cards were. How Hines stayed on the pitch I don't know but that decision seemed to spur 'boro while also demoralising Saints. It was as if they just knew from that point on that it wasn't going to be their day. So what next? I'm of the opinion that we need Leicester to do a job for us because it's now obvious that Saints cannot do the business when the pressure is really on. Of course Saints ought to beat an already relegated Coventry but just think about it. Half time at 0-0 with lots of nice propaganda football and Coventry comfortable. Our lack of pace and tackling could find the frustration building and then word comes in that WHU are 2 up, then 3 up. Coventry start gaining in confidence while Saints start making mistakes. Recognise it? Fancy it? Nope, neither do I. Come on Leicester!

Some time ago I said that Saints, having been in the top two all season, will find themselves dropping to 3rd on the last day of the season. Probably the last minute to make it all so much more dramatic for ****ing Sky, I was joking and had assumed that the title would have been ours by now. I have begun to doubt myself.
-
No I don't think that way. I just ponder the day itself. If we were at home to, say Bristol City, I'd be more than confident. It wouldn't necessarily make me right. I reckon we've got more than enough to win through but I reckon we'll be fine on Monday night because teams that have nothing to play for often spring a surprise.
-
Ah! The finest example of a partial quote. I said "given Saints home form against those stirring the bottom of the ocean floor". Now that would be slightly different would it not? Are you a politician? Now, for the record, I'm somewhat confident that Leicester will do a job for us. I'm less confident that Saints will do it for themselves although I still believe that we'll win through.

Hmmm! Wet fanny or not I can see this season going down in Saints history as one big f@@k up. Can anyone seriously say that the early season form has been replicated consistently since the winter? Recent form might have been good enough to stave off relegation but promotion stuff it aint. Should WHU win on Monday how many would be really comfortable on Saturday given Saints home form against those stirring the bottom of the ocean floor? Those of us with memories that go back decades will know that things are far from done and dusted.
