I'm aware of that but am clutching at the final straw. That's all the hope there is. Any team above us now ought to feel fairly safe.

The game against Swansea will be key if we win the game in hand.

Just about all that could go wrong did go wrong today.

Didn't realise that the free kick for Chelsea's first was taken from the wrong place. Poor defending against Giroud all the same but Dean hasn't helped us at all.

Maybe Saints should have signed Giroud given that he always scores at St Mary's.

Gutting. We're all but down now.Started scoring some but our defence just loses concentration and there's another 3 conceded.

Our defending is unbelievably poor. 2-3. It's what we feared would happen.

It'll be an almost welcome relief when it finally happens.

Much better but 3 goals conceded again. Probably 3 wins required out of 6 games. There was some passion & fight there today but I fear it's all too late. Hope to be proved wrong though.

Started the half well with good energy but ended it looking somewhat knackered and slightly disorganised. Need to be fitter.

Doesn't help that the ref is giving Saints nothing.

Not very good in the air which is important given where he plays. I think he'd make a decent right back or part of a 3 man centre. He might even do a job in midfield given how much better he is on the floor than the air.

Given their easy run in I don't reckon we should be bothering with Palace. They'll be alright. We're 4 points adrift of catchable teams.

Two games in hand are almost worthless for a team that hasn't won a game since who knows when. Just look at the gap that is opening. Do we have the players to close it up? I don't think so.

Other teams must look at Saints as a pretty easy 3 points these days. Today's games started to move against us but the only team that can send us down are Saints themselves in the end. By the end of this weekend we'll be looking adrift.

That really was a soft pen but we're desperate so happy to take it.
