Saints doing well. Can we turn possession into goals though?

Quite a while since I parked near Villa Park. Do they still have nippers hanging around offering to "look after your car" - for a price?

What really depresses me is the lack of good chances being created by Saints. Shape was good today for half an hour or so but after we scored Chelsea just seemed to be able to stroll in and around our penalty area without too much trouble.

Shocking stuff from Saints after we scored. I can only hope that was a one-off grim performance because we need to get back to something much better than that next week.

Ref gives a pen for chesting the ball. Not Saints day at all.

Saints are looking woeful now. Passes going astray. Tackles missed. Shape gone.

No shape. No hope now.

Started 2nd half as sloppy as 1st ended.

Could lose this badly now.

Saints not a threat at all at the mo. Get to half time at 1-1 and start again.

Before the game I'd have taken that but to miss an easy chance for 1-4 and then not hold on despite playing against 10 men for much of the time disappoints.

Oh dear. Miss a sitter for 1-4 and then it's 2-3 all of a sudden. We'll do well to hold on to this.

Looking comfy so far but plenty of time to screw it up yet. I'd be looking for at least one more 'cos I'm sure well concede at some stage. Keep it at a two goal lead for another 30 mins and I'll start to relax just a tad.

I'd hope the players put up more of a fight than some on here. Stoke away will be tough but surely not completely beyond us.

Perhaps I'd think about having JR and Lambert with the latter being required to augment the defence at set pieces. To get anything at Stoke we have to take the game to them, keep the ball, don't concede any free-kicks, never put the ball out of play in our own half, be physical and (just for a change) take our chances to score. Simple really.

Disappointing stuff again. Saints seem to have lost any sort of attacking ideas. Goals have dried up.

We don't have to walk it into the net FFS! Try shooting (on target).

Rather inept performance. Saints were always likely to gift us a spot of despair for Christmas.

Sunderland were poor. Saints were worse.
