I’m not suggesting Prowse = Grealish, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Prowse is highly rated by Villa fans. He is generally highly rated in football circles. I don’t know if it’s typical of all clubs, but I feel Saints fans have a really negative view is some of our better players. Look at the slating Ings gets on his thread, one of the best strikers in the PL. Maybe it’s some kind of defensive/ protective psychological mechanism, knowing if we have anyone decent it’s inevitable they will leave?

Unfortunately I think the strategy unitil sold, will be to do just enough / spend enough, not to get relegated. It's not all the clubs fault, a lot of it is down to the monster the premier league has become.

Maybe not dicey, maybe just financially constrained. It wouldn't look too clever having effectively taken a hardship loan, to then spend what you don't have "in the banks". Pure speculation on my part, I'm no business guru.

All I would say is the higher you are up the greasy pole the greater the risk, that has been my personal experience in life, that's why you get the big bucks. I'm not a fan of the every ones a winner philosophy, it doesn't represent life, life isn't fair, everyone needs to learn to deal with that. That's my view.

Another way of looking at the “no money” situation is he has arguably kept us in the premier league two seasons running, so for an outlay of 20m plus wages he had more than paid for himself? I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice to get a juicy fee btw.
