Very very odd for them to announce the deal at that press conference, especially because it is clear that our MP has nothing to do with the deal. I thought that maybe they were going to get him to come into the press conference, a bit like Remy did at QPR, but it was kind of a side comment, and nothing official. Im guessing it will get all the pictures/video/interview all up on Saints website in the next few hours, but still very strange.

To be fair, there has been a few things in there about Adkins leaving (Di Matteo/Gross etc) which were dismissed. Which makes you ask the question, how close were these to joining ? I remember someone saying last summer than if Di Matteo wasn't given the Chelsea job, he would have been given ours. Ties in with NA's interview after Coventry, him knowing that he was probably not going to be given a chance in the Premiership. I'd love to hear it from NA's side, but i'd be surprised if that happens just like Pardew. The Mirror clearly has a few ties with Saints though, as things seem to be broken by them first. Especially Nixon and John Cross.
