  1. Can you take home (say) a squirrell that you have hit with your car, but was not quite dead until you put it out of it's misery with a (say) 9 Iron? Not technicaly 'roadkill' I would have thought.
  2. The band:Roy Phillips on vocals, Rich Caso on guitar, Johnny Bowler on slap-bass and Jimmy Fahy (ex Flip-out) on drums. http://www.nervous.co.uk/shindex.htm?http://www.nervous.co.uk/reviews/nercd023.htm Zorch Factor - One Track 12. It was my fave of their set and I can still sing it in my head... It's up to you What you do, what you do, what you do It's up to you What you do, what you do, what you do. It's up to you What you do, what you do, what you do. It's up to you What you do They don't write them loike that no more do they. I am going to put it up if I can so the younguns can hear just how ace they were. 3. I am a bit rusty but as numbers look a bit low I will come. can we have a killer penalty tournament tonight? just for fun like.
  4. Sounds like a winner to me Ron. Could make it contest for players also praps? Fans could sing songs and offer each other out...
  5. How long is it safe to keep a chicken in the freezer for Jilly?
  6. I believe that they came theough it okay at the end of the day though. AFC Wimbledon are extremely well supported both hopme and away. I really do hope that they meeet one adya and AFC win it convincingly, sounding the death knell of the utterly despicable Maccy D's. It would be so sweet for all footie fans worldwide imo.
  7. in my opinion fwiw people do not give offence, people take offence, just fwiw.
  8. Yup, just about here: http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=allington%20lane&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl but I think the pic is from wheer the old Allington Lane was cul-de-sac'ed by the M27. I'm going to west End tomorrow evening and will check it out, I may even pull some of that ivy down and take another pic.
  9. This goes to show how the press can get it wrong too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1156662/THE-LIST-Sportsmails-footballs-biggest-traitors.html Anyway, I haven't seen reference to the great Bertie Mee here yet, what a top bloke. Also, if we were talking about the top 20 English managers I am pretty sure LM would be in there regardless of our biases.
  10. I hope that no-one forgets to give them **** for being the first (and hopefully last) ever official franchised football club in England. It is plainly wronf=g that they even exist in this league. Can you imagine how you would feel if Marcus had bought us and shipped the 'club' along with the '76 triumph up the road to (say) Basingjoke? Well, these arseholes moved the club even further from their real home, and were allowed to change the nmae just to riub salt into the wounds of genuine 'Dons' fans. It must never be allowed to happen again, and if ever the game of football had a bunch of plastic fans, then it is the MK Dons ones without a shadow of doubt. I hope we absolutely smash them, I really do. COYFR's
  11. ditto, it's nice to have my weird fascination with searching for obscure **** recognised. You would (I am sure) be surprised at some of the crap that I came acrsoss whilst looking for them. Did people know about the ghost cat of St Deny's? He appears in a few photos quite randomly.
  12. Hope no-one minds this going a bit out of town but who can forget the 'save Twyford Down' protesters? Werte they not called the 'dongers' or something similsr? ..and who can forget when the powers that be tried to clean up derby Road by slowing down the already slow kerb crawlers with thsi ingenious scheme: and more recently the cheeky chappies who used weedkiller to do this, which made the nationals iirc: :
  13. found it: It's now named Romill Close I believe.
  14. It's dtill there, I'm sure i saw a website about Southampton graffitti a while back that had a pic. I'll waste 10 minutes looking for it just for you. be back sooon. While you're waiting, can't believe that no-one's mentioned 'Floaters'!! You can have a meal on the old floating bridge which is permamnently mooored down at The Elephant boatyard: http://www.ferryrestaurant.co.uk/ go on, you owe it to yourself anf to it's memory to get your arese down there. I have to say that being an adoptee of Southampton (from 1980 to present) this thread is a cracker.
  15. Maybe it's the right time for us (as in 'all of us') to realise that what we are actaually all about is fairly simple. Just treat people right, be nice to each other and accept that we are all heading to the same place. Once people realise this and start making everyone else's live's a bit nicer whilst we travel part each other I am sure that we'll all be a damn sight happier.
  16. hamster

    Blackberry's

    But..... Keep up nipper ffs....
  17. I know ES, it look likes white 'sick' doesn't it. Fair play to moi though as tonight I told the barmaid at the Brigh****er what I thought of their 'piped mash' whilst ordering my piped beefburger and fries.
  18. BUMP An England v Rep of Ireland programme from Euro '88 just added From beer stained memory, this was an amazing team (on paper at least) who failed to deliver big time, losing all 3 group matches. jack Charlton really knoew how to get a team fired up and with the likes of Cascarino and Niall Quinn in his squad they made us look like a Sunday pub team. I was there with my best mate and without the gory details, from the moment the final whistle blew it was just a bierkeller soaked stupor. Brilliant time was had by all and I remember spending most of the final match dancing with 2 American girls in a fountain in the centre of Munich. I still have the photos which I really must scan for posterity.
  19. Might be interesting to hear what you youngsters think might be on your own nostalgia list actually. What will you miss the most in 20-30-40 years time? IKEA, West Quay? Will we still have a St Mary's stadium do you think?
  20. I'll take your money if you are throwing it Rory. Thay have not a chance with England being there imho. We will walk it.
  21. We just wash our spuds, the peel is the best bit as it is in a jacket spud too.
  22. That is imo where many are missing out actually. Many more people would buy mash if it was real mash, we've given up asking now and simply don't bother. I accept the thinking behind it though.
  23. For the nerds on here: Copy of freecycle e-mail just received. Be quick and be polite please: "Hi all! We have 3 boxes and a bin bag full of old Commodore and Atari bits - 1 x Commodore 16 and 2 x Commodore 64 consoles plus tape and disc drives, games, books etc etc. 1 x Atari console, 2 x mouse, joystick, games etc. I think everything should be there to connect to a tv and go, but they have all been up in the loft for over 10 years so no guarantees that all the bits are there and still work. To go as one lot please..." reply to
  24. Not my first ever, but my first ever brand new one, a Yamaha RD80LC. Stucka Micron 'can' on it and woke up my neighbours with it at 5 every morning on my way to Eastleigh post office where I worked at the time. I have family married and buried at St Nic's too. BTW, genuinely loving this thread, cheers to all for cheering me up. xx's
  25. That rings a bell SW, I'm actually going to try to find out if they still gig in their new guise as I thoguht they were brilliant and they are in actaul fact the reason that I like that genre. Someone earlier mentioned The Sun pub at the bottom of town. I saw them play there and also inThe Pier.
