The "I'm not watching or listening to the game" thread
hamster replied to SO16_Saint's topic in The Saints
Bridget, I had similar conversation this week. Was offered 1 adult plus 2 kids tickets but got the look of death as mrs h overheard the phone conversation. Result - capitulation. Plenty of derbies, homes, aways, wins, defeats, euro jaunts, player stalking in soton nightclubs, pitch-invading, queuing round the Dell for tickets, paying over the odds to touts, driving hundreds of miles to cancelled games, (I could go on) under me belt to be able to miss a match (any match) and still be a Saint. Testosterone is a strange Master. Stranger than any woman in fact. -

Smoking is the main cause of bladder cancer, check out the removal procedure on YouTube, hurts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=867bznm9WXw&feature=youtube_gdata_player And all that crap comes out the same way that the big fat camera goes in, Ie through your urethra/Iapetus (sorry ladies for being graphic). Add to that the investigative procedure prior which is generally done under a local.

Incidentally, when I entered said boozer last night, where I picked up the entry form, there was an 'omen'. Don't know how to say it proper but you get my drift? This pub has just won CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year (5th consecutive year btw). They always have 8 proper ales on offer, best pub in Deal, and Deal has some cracking ale houses. Anyway, the pumps were obscured by Mr miserable and his buddies; mrs West Ham shirt and The bald bachelor teacher chap. As I peered through the beer bellied throng, I glimpsed it, it was looking straight at me, beckoning me to purchase and savour. The name on the pump handle? Amarillo. I'd been singing it all evening at work, boring colleagues with the explanation of it's significance and even on the drive home mrs h told me on more than one occasion to 'STFU with that stupid song'. I get loads of musical 'signs' all the time, maybe because I'm special or maybe because I'm 'special'but this has convinced me that the skates are going down and whatever the odds I'm gonna stick a few quid on us to Tonkin them now and spend my winnings on beer in celebration. All together now. Shalalalalalalala....

If I win I promise to donate the tenner to the first charity box I come across. This is a local fundraiser for Deal Town Rangers, it's a monthly comp. Every answer this month is an Animal Noise. For example: 'Tree Covering' = BARK. Here we go: 1. One hundred pounds 2. Nothing for a pen - Oink (whitey grandad) 3. It sounds like a refusal - Neigh (andysstuff) 4. Why go round the pub - Whinny (whitey grandad) 5. 100,000 - Moo (whitey grandad) 6. Collapsible table - Bleat (wibble) 7. Useless doctor - Quack (andysstuff) 8. Of brakes? - Squeel (andysstuff) 9. Second class beam - Bray (whitey grandad) 10. Not very dear it's told - Cheep (andysstuff) 11. Use the website - Click or Tweet? (delldays or hamster) 12. Argue in the outskirts of Galashiels - Growls (wibble) 13. What a carefree motorist doesn't give - Hoot (whitey grandad) 14. Pop one's clogs - Croak (whitey grandad) 15. Kind of timepiece - Cuckoo (gaz) 16. Possibly while you work - Whistle (andysstuff) 17. Big clanger without hesitation - Howl (whitey smartypants grandad) 18. In a long run to help charity - Grunt (wibble) nice one mate. 19. A little squaw knows how to act - Squawk i(jillyanne) 20. Nothing in a built up yard - Meows - bearsy (the naughty one) I have worked out a few already but will edit with correct answer and credits as and when. Ready, steady Go.

Plans scuppered by stingey bank manager. Damnit! Still going to Crick though. That 70 footer sounds nice Mr landford and thanks LVsaint for the heads up, 35 foot would be way too small....mrs h would take up most of that with her rubbish, leaving no room for the essentials (ie my rubbish). Anyway, we're back on Morpheus in May with the option of extending the trip to 3 weeks. That would be immense but unfortunately the new job would mean taking unpaid leave, so quite disappointed to miss the opportunity putting up with each other at close quarters on a trial basis. Maybe it's for the best as she does have some filthy habits.. ;-)

Local girl from Sandwich is on it this year. Local view is that she is lovely, but when interviewed she said in the local press that no-one and nothing gets in her way!!! She'll do well then.

clear my wallet of receipts, it's the best way to protect yourself from identity theft, same with letterheads with my name or address on. Can't be too careful. What I can't tear and flush I burn on the log burner. And I listen to the R2 quiz from begining to end. And read very slowly, IN ****ING PEACE...

You'll get lynched on here saying stuff like that. ;-)

If I wanted a 100% mortgage for a property worth £80,000 where should I go? We have a small very modest monthyly income and rental income which easily covers the BTL repayments. Need our meagre savings for a few mods and cons. Good credit rating.

What if it was a real fire though, people who dont take fire drills seriously are silly.
-
Can someone please just answer the original question for those on here who werent there. Was there a bloody fire drill or was there not?
-
Scoobs, would you be willing to have a look for me please? I'm well out of my depth mate. I can post securely and you can then estimate the cost to fix it properly. I'd be grateful.

This is the site I used: http://www.rapidrepair.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=cp-iphone-3g-s-repair with more pics. This is the 'walk-through' site's pic of the 2 numbered connectors. Number 3 is under the bit with '916' stamped on it. http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/iphone-3g-s-repair/iphone-3g-s-images/iphone-3g-s-board-clips1.jpg Re the highlighed bit above, is there definitely a 'clamp'? I ask as when I took it apart that ribbon bit came out quite easily but was finicky getting it back in. I pulled mine backwards to detach it and pushed it back in the same way. It was quite fiddly actually, maybe that's the problem now, not connected at all! I'm gonna have another peek in a mo but look forward to your cooments Scooby.

Scooby, I had the backlight on my iphone (3gs 32gig) go really dim a couple of weeks ago and found a website that gave instructions for fixing it. I followed the (foolishly) instructions up to the bit where you detach the contacts numbered 1,2 & 3 and checked they were clean and dry. That is as far as I went before putting it all back together, this process was surprisingly simple. Alas I now have nothing on the screen at all. If you think that you could fix it for me then I'd be really appreciative, obviously subject to cost. I also have a laptop with a knackered screen, I'd like all the stuff on the hard-drive transferred or even have the HD mountedas an external drive if anyone can do that at a reasonable cost?
