  2. No sir.... I think you might win that award ;)
  3. http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=439758 From a high level, it seems like they get it..... Except it's not he clubs fault :) I'm sure I've read that letter before ;)
  4. Dear HMRC, Sol Cambell, Kanu & Paul Hart Although you voted against the 20p in the pound in the last CVA, can you confirm in writing that you are happy that this was reduced to 0.04p in the latest CVA? Thank you for your help Old Birchy
  5. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/politics/letter-aims-to-restore-pompey-s-lost-points-1-4062473 How to show you really dont have a clue about the situation, but will welcome the chance to get your face in the paper. THE leader of Portsmouth City Council has written to a football authority asking it not to dock Pompey a further 10 points. Councillor Gerald Vernon-Jackson sent the message to Greg Clarke, chairman of the Football League yesterday. Last season Portsmouth Football Club lost 10 points after it went into administration in February. It meant the team was relegated from the Championship, and will be playing their first match in League One in August. But then it was announced the league has docked an additional 10 points, meaning Pompey will start bottom of the table. Cllr Vernon-Jackson’s letter states: ‘My concern is that this does not have the appearance of natural justice and that the football club are being penalised twice for the same crime. ‘One of the aims of sport is to encourage ambition and for youngsters growing up to understand about fair play. ‘The decision of the Football League in relation to Portsmouth seems to penalise their ambition and to punish twice for the same action, something that no one could view as fair. I would therefore ask the Football League to reconsider their decision on the issue of points deduction.’ Pompey were docked a further 10 points for failing to pay creditors from their previous times in administration
  6. I don't actually like any spirits.... They all taste disgusting in my opinion. I'll have a few shots when the sillies come out, but it's certainly not for the taste.
  7. He is such an odius little man and a crap journalist in my opinion. They are not demands Neil, they are debts and commitments of the club and we know how strongly appleton feels about honouring contracts.... You ran the article yourself.
  8. Courtesy of the most boring conference call I have ever had the misfortune of having to attend. I thought yesterdays news was worthy of a little celebration. My attempt to consolidate the entire thread failed miserably so ended up as a little ditty made up of the main players (Not events). Old Peter burnt the midnight oil But saw no fruits for all his toil As time ran down and debts ran up He sought a buyer, but had no luck Avram came and Avram went In Horton Heath his load he spent The blue few cheered and sang his name As he kissed the badge and showed no shame But Salvation seemed not far away With, Al. Fahim to save the day He wasn’t quite a billionaire And walked right into to Baloo’s lair With the ice cream man out of town, A new savior would soon be found. Some still believe this man a myth But to portpin he was a perfect “gift”. When the debt could rise no more Old Chinny came and knocked the door. With an admin here and an admin there “My debts secured so I don’t care.” The time had come to sell again And Chinny chose some Russian men. Their eyes were bright and their smile true, But Ruffmafia and the nutjobs KNEW. And so indeed it came to pass That Antonov wouldn’t last Shackled in an English Jail Another epic pompey fail But true to form they did not sell In fact they saw their numbers swell So come the middle of Janu ary It was onto admin number three. With a heavy heart and weary face Poor old lampitt lost his place It looked like Andy would return But his advances, the judge would spurn So up stepped Trev from pkf To find there was no money left His rallying cries went unheard And the players thought his requests absurd It looked like Cala would be their man With his whacky underwater plan, But alas no, it was not he That could resurrect old portsea That just left Chinny to take the reigns But the pst have a bid to feign. The race is on, but who will win The smart money say it’s old portpin. But what looked straight forward was soon to change When the football league, found their range. To prove they were all worthy men They hit the skates with minus ten The final verse is yet to play Will they live another day? From the ones that seem to know the most The current thought is, they look like “Toast”.
  9. ******* thing is broken
  10. Have you got a link
  11. pompey lose ten points - arry loses 4 million http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/harry-redknapp-set-to-lose-4m-on-portsmouth-land-deal-1-4053312
  12. Well it will certainly be uncomfortable for TBH and would appear to be a punishment for his stance on his wages. I would be amased if varney or morris play (Assumming their transfers don't go through today) and if that is the case it will only strengthen his resolve to hold out for the full amount.
  13. Neil: The first CVA payment of £2.48m was scheduled for April 1. However, that has now fallen by the wayside because of administration. This will be re-valued during the administration process and be considerably smaller. There will be no FL points deduction on this though. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/webchats Over to you MLG
  14. 137 emails from the TSWF
  15. With the penalty and conditions imposed, it would be incredible to think that the football league hadn't made provsion for them being liquidated. Who is the team in league two that would stand to get promoted (I thought it was exeter, but MLG corrected me) Anyway... keep an eye out for their local papers sports pages, but for every day that passes the closer pompey come to the end.
  16. I read it another way... There is a only a limited amount availble after the parachute money anyway. So even if the clause wasn't there, he would still only get to see 3 million tops. But he will still own the ground / land as the outright owner and not just a charge. He then can sell the club for whatever after a year. I think it was absolutely put in as a deterent against Chanrai, but it has little impact.
  17. what possible justification can the FL have for this appalling decision? It is spiteful and vindictive, and serves no purpose other than to kick us when we are down.........we are being punished for the same offence twice, as I see it, seeing as how we had points deducted last season. The only people to be affected by this are the players and fans of the football club, who were not responsible for or at fault for the administration or mismanagement of the club. The five or six thousand loyal fans of the club who have put their money up front in the purchase of season tickets have effectively had the value of those season tickets reduced, and the club has, at a stroke been rendered even less attractive to any potential buyer. Given the fact that we are also subject to a transfer embargo and are being totally hamstrung in our efforts to get out of the mess we are in, and instead of offering help and support, the league are obstructing and hindering any possible progress we try to make....... it is shameful and does the FL no credit , it merely highlights their own inept running of the league they are supposed to be in charge of, and however you look at this, you can find no justification or valid reason for it.......we are an easy target and are being victimised. This will not deter any other club or chairman, it will not stop mismanagement at football clubs and will not achieve anything at all within the football league, all it does is give the other 23 clubs in league one an unfair advantage over the coming season. Nice one Football League, and thanks for nothing.. again Poetry, pure poetry.... agenuine thankyou to who wrote that on the news site
  18. Just go the the news web chats.... Allen posted four or five times, it was guranteed no points deductions
  19. Don't worry about that too much Trousers..... I'm not sure kanu or TBH are in the mood to compromise :)
  20. The Board of The Football League has agreed to make an offer of membership to the eventual purchaser of Portsmouth Football Club. The offer is subject to the successful bidder accepting a number of conditions that seek to ensure the sporting integrity of league football and the financial viability of the Club going forward. The Football League Board has absolute discretion as to whether to admit any new company as a member of The League. In doing so, it has to strike a balance between giving a club another chance and the effect this has on sporting competition between clubs. Through its Insolvency Policy, The League aims to secure the continuation of the club in its local community. In seeking to achieve this it requires that: a) all football debts have been settled in full (although these may be compromised by mutual agreement). b) creditors have been given the opportunity to indicate their satisfaction (or otherwise) at the proposed arrangements (normally through the acceptance of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA)). In Portsmouth's previous administration, a significant amount of unsecured debt was compromised in a CVA approved by creditors in June 2010, with an anticipated outcome of twenty pence in the pound. In the event, these creditors had not had their claims settled prior to the Club's further administration in February 2012. Under the new CVA these claims would be further compromised to less than one penny in the pound without creditors having the opportunity to indicate whether they find this acceptable. This is because the claims rest in the liquidation of the previous company and the liquidator of that company has voted to accept the terms of the new CVA. Therefore, the Board were faced with the prospect of numerous unsecured creditors receiving less than one penny in the pound, without having the opportunity to indicate their satisfaction (or otherwise) in the normal way. In the Board's view, these arrangements do not respect a key principle of The Football League's Insolvency Policy (as described above in b). Therefore, as a condition of membership, any new company established to apply for ownership of Portsmouth Football Club's share in The Football League will be required to: 1. Accept a deduction of 10 points in the 2012/13 season; 2. Agree that only a limited proportion of the secured debt from the previous club can be carried forward into the new company as secured debt. 3. Pay all football creditors in full, unless mutually acceptable compromise agreements are put in place. 4. Agree to a range of other restrictions on playing budgets, future borrowing and loan repayments for the next 5 seasons. It will now be for the administrator to seek to finalise arrangements for the sale of the club with interested parties. The Board will consider the application for transfer of membership once the administrator has selected the final purchaser
  21. As i suggested you might have misread the letter.... Not one bit about what you couldn't wear and then ; He said the policy was not aimed at cricket fans who put together picnic hampers which happened to include products made by companies not sponsoring the tournament. Mr McClements added: "Provided they are just ordinary cricket fans, I doubt whether they will have any difficulty Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-315762/The-end-cricket-picnic.html#ixzz20PpLb2Cu
  22. Were you playing or working on the press side or just a spectator? I would assume that if you were a spectator, this would have made the front page of every newspaper and lead story on every news channel in the western world...... I think you misread the letter.
  23. reading to sign Defoe for 5 million http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/904865-jermain-defoe-wanted-to-front-new-look-reading-strikeforce#ixzz20LwBJgQH Thats a very decent signing .... he is still only 29
  24. Without completely hijacking your thread, I do believe we will see some sort of "security incident" at the games. I hope I am wrong and may be it is just paranoia. If anything does happen or is planned, it won't be stopped by large volumes of forces personnel.
  25. Intresting post regarding the new coach situation. Not sure if it is true, but sounds plausible. One of the reasons for the delay must be checking the legality of making a position redundant and then some weeks later offering your mate the same job. The financial state of business would have to demonstrate substantial improvement in order that Stuart Gray cannot claim unfair dismissal
