Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Gemmel replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I'm sure IF anything does happen, as already posted, it will be phased and done over a period of years. But that shouldn't detract from the fact that there is quite obviously a "Vision". A drive and ambition to move forwards, in what appears to be all aspects of the club. Whilst it is easy to scoff at some peoples beliefs of where that could take us, the reality is the footballing side of things would need to be in top shape, to make those plans sustainable and that can only be good news for us fans. I was reading the comments from Cortese as to why he turned down AC Milan in favour of staying with us and how we have the potential to match anything they could do in the future and had he not enjoyed the (Fairly Incredible) success he has in such a short space of time with Saints, you would dismiss them out of hand (probably ****ing yourself laughing at the same time) as pure fantasy.... But his record, his actions and his ambitions, do allow you to get a little carried away and "wonder" quite what the future holds. Now before the bedwetters, get all excited; I don't think we will ever be comparble to AC Milan I don't think we will be playing Champions league anytime in my lifetime And a succesfull season will still be avoiding relegation. We have a fiercly ambitious CEO and well financed owners. If they were looking to "Get out" now would be the optimum time in terms of return on their investment, so if they are sticking around, my guess is they are taking it seriously. Add on to that my personal belief that football will change (More specifically the financial side of it) over the next decade or so and what seems such far fetched ideas of grandeur right now, might be more acheiveable in the future. -
See there you all go, laughing at the less fortunate again. I hope you can live with yourselves. Come someone tell me what is funny about the fact the Mokena wanting to leave, but the only stumbling block being the wages and bonuses that have been defered from last season, oh and the outstanding money from the previous administration? And mocking the MP's & Councillors - what's that all about? Why is it so funny that the community buy out needs unprecended scrutiny? Juts because they don't have any money, that shouldn't make them a source for your humour. And so what if they haven't got a goal keeper? Clotterill factored this is in with his "Quality over Quantity" reign and every player (9) on the books can also play in goal.

Good luck Dennis. Time to dig out the skin tight shorts when it is minus 15 in January

Birsh is moving up the "hero's" ladder. Trying to convince the few he is doing everything he can to reduce costs and wages, but not actually contacting the players. Straight out of "How to run a football club" by Peter Storrie. Take a bow Mr Birch.
-
Not yet they didn't
-
He said: ‘The players don’t know what the amount of compensation they can expect will be yet. ‘This is not something that happens now - players are paid their compensation at some point in the future So basically, we want you to leave and rip up your contract, but we can't tell you how much compensation we'll give you for doing that or when we will give it to you. Be hard to walk away from that compelling argument

The PFA have already got a claim in this CVA for 26 million for past and future salaries. Just google it, but the players are ultimately covered by the PFA. I think administrators think that if they say something, that makes it true. Sorry fanny, but the legend TBH gets his full whack...... Actually it is in all the players interests for the club to go into liquidation.

How very dare you

Old Birch is giving android a run for his money, when it comes to saying stupid things. I hope he stays around for a while longer.

ginger hair complex? Just asking

Spot on post Trousers. My guess is that as birch has already stated that there isn't any money for compremise agreements, the final throw if the dice is the the PFA pay the compromise agreements. I don't know the figures, but say pompey are liquidated and they (PFA) were liable for 10 million quid or pay 4 or 5 million now and the club survives. It would set an incredble precedent, but not beyond the realms of possibility.

It's an intresting old game this "Admin" lark. Trev old son, two weeks ago you told us that all the players could give 14 days notice and walk for free and now you us to believe you are going to sell them for a fee? Oh and the PFA will pay the contracts if pompey are liquidated.

Hope it's not true. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/18435771
