  1. False dichotomy, not mutually exclusive.
  2. I would add that the current regime and Cortese deserve credit in this regard. Cortese was perhaps a necessary 'evil' at the time; we have better balance now between ruthless business governance and being a 'club'.
  3. Certainly we have a great business and playing model for a mid-sized club to follow. We can punch above our weight, and look to emulate in our own way, clubs like Athletico Madrid.
  4. Cue more calling for Wenger's head this evening if it stays like this or gets worse!

The causes question is seriously flawed. The reasons for it's decline question is also seriously flawed. (From a veteran of the legendary rows of old: Saints V Millwall '78 and Chelsea V Saints Oct 76)
  6. Worry like, "he's off to Arsenal in the window and we are testing what the options are without him and smoke screening with 'injury'"?
  7. I am doing my best to extend it to the fanbase, but it's a long haul.
  8. Christ, it's not the ****ing opera. What is happening to football? I despair.
  9. LoL - as we all know IQ is distributed on a bell curve, and footballers and ex-footballers are not known for their intellects, so it will ever be thus, unless they change their pundit recruitment policy!
  10. The more intelligent quarters of the media absolutely love us. We are refreshing, and our manner is wholesome, and the Academy - well it speaks for itself. Great article.
  11. Didn't see the game at all as on train - Was Pelle anonymous? No one mentioned him hardly.
  12. lets hope they are mere knocks.
  13. Matthew Le Tissier.
  14. I decided to not renew my BT sports sub as he is so unlistenable.
  15. Take heart - Spurs are losing!
  16. You need 2 first 11s to be top 4.
  17. Nasty bullies.
  18. He has been vulnerable to mid-long range grass-cutters. I think he will be superb tho in a year or 2.
  19. +ve: Auderweild (sp?) -ves: slow, gave away possession, poor set pieces. Tadic and Pelle both off form they look like the Prem has gotten hold of them and killed the jois de vivre with which they played the first 10 games.
  20. We were, like at Villa: Slow lost posession cheaply poor set pieces and crosses Pelle and Tadic out of form and out of sorts Against City, we were doomed to lose by about 3 goals with those problems. Hell, we nearly lost to Villa.
  21. **Forster is vulnerable to longish range Grass cutters.
  22. we have rode our luck a bit so far. Id like to see more runs and movement from Pelle and Tadic as the backs and midfield come forward
  23. We should still laud our old heroes and sing the Marian Pahars song et al. Man U sing all their old back catalogue when away and it works a treat.
  24. L & L are both drifting into oblivion with Scousehampton.
  25. Top 5 now has all the usual suspects....apart from Saints.
