Perry, I understand why people think he struggles against tall strikers but he really doesn't, he times his jumping perfectly. I remember last season when we came up against Ben Burgess at Blackpool - Killer couldn't beat him in the air, but whenever Perry went up he always won the ball.

When you put it like that it looks f*cking immense.

I thnik he's quality, just not at RB. I'd love to see him take Wottons place.

[quote=alpine_saint;493728 Yes, it is only one match. We responded superbly to going behind to MK Dons, but took a helluva long time to get going against Orient. I think the next few matches will prove season-defining. I am simply hoping that there is no fatigue or complaicency setting in, that AP has the team back focused and raring to go on the 15th, and that no predictability is becoming apparent. No we didn't. Just because it didn't go in doesn't mean we weren't playing at our best.

James got two of those playing at CM/RM.

Indeed, although it DOES mention it in the bible as well.
-
Indeed. "The team got ****y today I reckon". "The game should have been dead and buried by us before now". "Considering the amount of chances we've had, this is a sh*t result". I think the point St Will was making was that you are quick enough to criticise when things aren't going our way, yet when things are going against us...well, just look.

This reminds me of the old gif thread on TSF.

Jesus H, she'd need all of that soap just to wash her back. -
Apparently they did. I've read in a few books about them that they predicted a "white skinned devil coming out of the sea" to kill them all. This a couple of decades before the Spaniards actually sailed over and wiped them out.

Let me put it this way then. Prove him wrong by using the facts, without completely dismissing his opinion as negative b*llocks. I can understand WHY Alpine has come out with these points - however having been at the game and looking at the stats, it's quite easy to see that we didn't slip up due to being under prepared (or even Orient being better prepared than us).
-
St Will, rather than getting personal why not just do what the rest of us do and prove him wrong using the facts. It's much easier.

The Kingsland has been packed for the last couple of games. They will not be shutting a stand...

19C completely baffles me.
-
You brought it up first, you only have yourself to blame if he goes off on one about it now
-
Nope, he's right footed. He can also play as a striker FWIW.
-
To be fair, your use of quotation marks around "preparation" made me laugh as well. Are you suggesting there isn't any?
-
Since our upturn in form (post Rovers), and look at the goals we have conceded, I would suggest there are only a couple that were elementary mistakes. Gillingham was a great lob, although it could be argued Davis should have done better. Southend and Oldham, i'll be honest, I can't remember. MK Dons was a cracking free kick, although again IMO Davis was far too wide in his goal. And last saturday one was an unbelievable header and a ridiculous own goal.
-
Every team concedes goals, it doesn't mean there is something fundamentally wrong with them, or that they are predictable.
-
It doesn't matter how it seems, it is a fact that but for a couple of inches either way Lallana could have headed us back into the game earlier, or Connolly could of won it for us (three times) in the final 10 minutes. As for the goals conceded, have you seen them? The first one was a great header which cost the CB the rest of the game because it was so fearless, and the second one....well...
-
No. We DID create the chances - we were just unlucky with our finishing.
-
Last season his shooting was woeful - he acknowledged that, said he would work on it, and now has 8 goals in all comps this season.
-
So...would you rather the roles were reversed? That we had scored two lucky goals and been battered for the rest of the game, but it would be OK because we had men behind the ball? I think you need to clarify what point you're trying to make, because i'm really not sure. So far you have suggested that our match preparation was wrong and that Orients was quite good - then you dismiss the fact that we were all over them for the rest of the match.
