  1. Harsh on Ralph, he kept himself trim.
  2. Saints graduate and fan up top, guaranteed a goal.
  3. No, but i've said we should give him a go and with Manning back it's the right decision to keep Bree at left back. Also the right decision to put Alcaraz, Sulemana and S. Armstrong all back in.
  4. Patience! Get the performances right and with enough time and/or relegations, we'll start winning games.
  5. This team has literally never played together before.
  6. Excellent, we can turn a profit!
  7. If Charles hadn't put in such an abysmal performance last time out i'd agree. As it is Smallbone is the right choice. I think CM is definitely an area to look to upgrade in January.
  8. Hold onto your hats everyone. I agree 100% with the team he's picked. Good. Job. Russell. Now win the game.
  9. Team news in 5 minutes or at 12?
  10. You're right, that's just jogged my memory. He scored it down the Chapel end on the break.
  11. Fully expecting him to be completely fluent in Russball by the time he's fit and not needing any time for gelling or adjusting to it at all.
  12. He was undroppable until Harry left, played almost every minute of every game until the change in manager. Only scored 3 goals until march (also had a loan spell at Ipswich where he scored 2 goals in 3 games, can't remember if he was recalled or it was only for a month) then scored 6 in 6 in the final run in of the season. I distinctly remember him scoring at home to Millwall, and shouting "f*ck off" at the Saints fans - he'd already had enough of us. Weird season really, looking back at it. 9 draws in the first 15 games and only 2 defeats. Even after Burley came in we were in danger of relegation until Fuller came back, his return to the team led to 5 wins in 6 games and a rise from 18th to 12th - we were 20th the game before he came back.
  13. Didn't he write it on his vest at half time? The fact it was scribbled in such broken English was hilarious.
  14. Yeah working it out its actually 36 yards so further than I thought. No problem.
  15. He's shit, no other reason needed for me to not like the guy. I agree with your last sentence though, he is incredibly boring. Edit: To clarify, I wasn't "going after" him because he celebrated with the away fans, I mentioned that it's embarrassing that he goes to the fans after every single win and does the same "yes! yes! yes!" hand wavy/cheer thing, especially as he scarpers like road runner when we lose. I thought it was small-time when Ralph did it as well, but he didn't do it every single time.
  16. So not scoring enough and conceding too many, other than that we're doing all the right things.
  17. The whole conference is so fucking defensive, almost all about himself. Doing my head in.
  18. "We go 2-1 down and when they put 10 men behind the ball, it is very difficult. Simply have to stop putting ourselves in that situation" Oh, it's that simple is it? How about you have a plan for when we inevitably go a goal down.
  19. Found it! 4 minutes in, sound is a little off. As I said, 30 yards Whole thing is worth a watch just for the nostalgia. https://youtu.be/_G75gYBaMnM?si=8OyS_xEm5_bAaUyK
  20. Patience, everyone.
  21. Sounds like a roundabout way of saying "scar tissue" to me. Doesn't really explain why Leicester are running away with the league, though.
  22. It was only about 30 yards out and he volleyed it from a keepers head out, the keeper left himself on the edge of the box so it was an empty net. An epic goal, but not quite the worldy you seem to be remembering. There used to be a video on YouTube set to "Roc ya body, mic check 1-2" that had it on, it was basically like a compilation of that championship season. Ended up with Burley coming in set to "The Key the Secret" 😂 worked out well. Anyway, can't find that video anymore. Did find Javis old YouTube channel (remember him!?) though which has the classic "saint until u die" on it (original Saints song over footage of the 2003 FA cup run) as well as few other Idiakez themed videos and bizarrely a video of Mario Licka scoring a penalty for Caen. https://youtu.be/xmb4xfZEDO0?si=MtEvQfiUHpfwY_pd
  23. This sounds good until you realise there are 9 teams this season with 20 or more points and the top two both have more than 30. We're not competing with last season's teams, we're competing with this season's who are clearly at a higher level.
  24. The style of play doesn't suit our strikers or, to be honest, any strikers really. It doesn't allow them to be dynamic and make runs because the players are told not to try risky through balls or balls over the top. A player like Mara is going to struggle as he is a player that needs to be running with the ball and getting on the end of passes, not receiving the ball with his back to goal and trying to lay it off before repeating it again 10 yards forward until we NFL style move up the pitch a little bit at a time. He's especially going to struggle with only being given short cameos to do anything in. The guy has had a grand total of 226 minutes on the pitch with 72 of those coming V Sunderland when the whole team was a disaster.
  25. I enjoyed it, and was disappointed to see that it actually went in off Evans with little or no touch from Bazunu because how often is he going to get the chance to experience that.
