  1. Lanzini, Pereyra and Lingaard are all in their 30s now. Lingaard in particular just struggled to make an impact at Notts Forest. The only one that's beyond realistic is Moura, and as I said he's done almost nothing for a couple of years now and is also in his 30s.
  2. They also applied for Hooiveld who was excellent in the championship and worse than Lyanco in the Prem. Don't think you're actually following what I'm saying here.
  3. Got to think about two things for him. One is the extra time and space you get in the championship - watch Che Adams goal compilations, that's how he got loads of his. The second is there will be a lot more fouls committed around the box than there were in the Prem.
  4. Not in terms of what he gives us there isn't. He could easily get 15-20 goals next season for us from midfield plus get into double figures for assists.
  5. Not sure how up to date transfermrkt is with it's contract expiry dates, but a few ones we could take a look at: Lanzini Roberto Pereyra Lucas Moura (very ambitious I know but he's 30 and heard nothing of him for a couple of years) Alfredo Morelos (prick but I bet he'd bully the championship). Jesse Lingaard. Jonny Evans (35 now but a level down might have something to offer)
  6. I see we've taken a risk and decided to roll the dyson someone with no football experience. (I'm trying).
  7. FUCK YOU. Why did I hesitate.
  8. That's good, there's been a power vacuum since Semmens left.
  9. I do. He was good with the ball at his feet, had good dribbling ability. He did better than Matt Targett when he first broke into the side and he IS a premier league full back.
  10. He couldn't do the basics of anything in the Prem which is my point. I can see Lyanco being an effective Championship CB.
  11. Hooiveld looked worse than Lyanco in the Prem and he was ace in the Championship, by that logic I think we should keep him.
  12. Convinced the club knew in advance that something was up though as the LD version of the kit, the sponsor would peel off easily after one wash. Ended up being a great kit with no sponsor on it.
  13. Ah yes, the classic thread where everyone bemoans the lack of originality amongst our song choices without actually suggesting anything themselves except ironic overused choices. How about this: He wants to be, Down by the sea, It's super Russell Martin For the Saints. He'll get us in, Back where we've been, It's super Russell Martin, For the Saints. (Play it on 1.25x speed and it sounds alright).
  14. Because at this stage it would have been a conflict of interest. What if it fell through and he's given a rival club intel on a player that he gained while at Swansea? See he's here now after all but fuck me, talk about making it drag on. He's got an uphill battle now.
  15. Planning and preparation, full analysis of the first team, reserves and youth, examination of the scouting reports already completed and identification of new targets, preparing training schedules for the squad as a whole and individual players, heck even team building exercises with the backroom staff. Or he can just turn up after the players are back and wing it, I suppose.
  16. I know what will happen, we'll become the fans of other clubs that told us repeatedly how good he was because all we'll see are the highlights where he runs past someone once or scores a worldly every 15 games, without seeing the dozens if not hundreds of clips of him cutting back and playing it back to the fullback or just giving it away.
  17. I don't think anyone is hankering for his arrival as the new Messiah, just a bit bemused and annoyed at it dragging on for so long. I don't particularly want him but if he is going to be the new manager then I would have wanted him in place by now so he can get stuck right in as early as possible. And if there was something delaying it to this extent I would have rather we moved on to another (probably better) target.
  18. Not really. There's a limit to how many players can go there and no shortage of players who want to play in the Premier League.
  19. I seem to remember an analysis that showed our defence last season ranked among midtable sides in terms of how their stats compared to other teams, but Bazunu conceded so many more than he was expected to that it negated any good work we did.
  20. The birds alright though, she can stay. (Have to clarify...top right).
  21. I cannot believe we still don't have someone in place.
  22. Is he our manager or isn't he? What the hell is going on?
  23. Brighton just paid £30million for an attacking player that only scored 11 goals in the Championship last season. Would be typical Saints.
  24. I don't think it's a given that Pelle would have been sold if Koeman stayed and losing him was massive.
  25. Isn't his Thomas Frank, Thomas Frank?
