  1. Funny, but even when giving our opponents results I didn't think they'd get Saints ended up just scraping to safety in my predictor. It's going to go right to the wire.
  2. All the other teams at the bottom have got very winnable games.
  3. I think 14 points would be enough. People seem to think that because there's so many teams involved that the threshold to stay up will be higher, but it'll actually be the opposite.
  4. Hoping that they come out complacent thinking it'll be a much easier game and we raise our levels because the only time our players properly perform is when they're in the shop window.
  5. Fuck me, I cannot believe this "Bazunu decided to flap his hand in Souttars face to put him off" nonsense is gaining traction. McCarthy made saves you wouldn't expect him to make, last season he kept 7 clean sheets in the league. Bazunu saves nothing unless it is directly at him and sometimes even then he still concedes.
  6. We don't have time to let him slowly get better. If he right now is a 1/10, and McCarthy is a 3/10, then McCarthy is still a better shout for the rest of the season purely on the basis that in at least one game he might make a save that earns us points. Bazunu has earned us 0 points this season, has actively lost us points, and I am willing to bet he will do nothing the rest of this season that has a meaningful positive impact on the result.
  7. I get what you mean, but Newcastle are a very solid defensive side, leave nothing open which is where we struggle most. City at least leave themselves open.
  8. The point was I was trying to be realistic with Saints and generous to our opposition, so that if we picked up less points in reality then there would hopefully be more wiggle room as our rivals were likely to pick up less points too...if that makes sense? If I didn't give our rivals the odd win I didn't think they'd get, then we'd have been clear by about 5 or 6 points. And yes, we absolutely are taking this too seriously!
  9. Put that in the toss up category due to them having a few dodgy results and us beating them already.
  10. Like I said, I was being generous to the other teams around us by giving them results I didn't really expect them to get. If Palace wins those games against the teams around us then they all end up worse off.
  11. Yeah, 40 points has only been needed once since 2003. More often that 36 is enough.
  12. Premier League » Table calculator (worldfootball.net) There's the predictor for anyone who wants to have a go. Interested to see others results. (Be sure to go back to previous game weeks and do the games in hand).
  13. Can see us potentially getting results against Tottenham and Liverpool if we turn up and they don't (which they haven't been recently), United and Newcastle are write-offs to me, the rest are toss ups.
  14. Did the predictor for the rest of the season, felt I was being pretty realistic, ended up with this; 12 Leicester City 38 12 7 19 52:58 -6 43 13 Wolverhampton Wanderers 38 12 7 19 30:48 -18 43 14 Nottingham Forest 38 9 14 15 33:64 -31 41 15 West Ham United 38 9 9 20 35:55 -20 36 16 Southampton FC 38 10 5 23 32:67 -35 35 17 Leeds United 38 8 10 20 43:66 -23 34 18 Everton FC 38 9 7 22 28:60 -32 34 19 Crystal Palace 38 7 12 19 33:59 -26 33 20 AFC Bournemouth 38 6 8 24 30:76 -46 26 Palace with a complete collapse at the end of the season! So 4 wins and 2 draws or 3 wins and 5 draws, with 13 games left. A lot to ask...but I feel I was also generous to the teams around us in the results they'd get. West Ham with 3 wins and 4 draws, Leeds with 3 and 3, Everton with 4 wins...
  15. I have us losing to United and beating Spurs in the predictor to climb out of the relegation zone...
  16. Also a result that is probably demoralising for both of them. Forest would want to be beating Everton with how crap they are, and Everton need to start getting results soon.
  17. Yep, fair enough, I did exactly what I accused him of - I read it completely wrong! However, the fact still remains he is sh*t and he is not some passing maestro to make up for it as some would have you believe.
  18. Yeah, I agree. Goalkeepers, when they are sh*t, take a larger share of responsibility than the rest of the team. The flip side is when you have a great game you get lauded as having single handedly kept your team in the game.
  19. Of course it's not directly down to him, but his position is the one which it would have been easiest to do better in. Signing a 15-20 goal striker is very, very difficult. Signing a goalkeeper who actually makes saves isn't.
  20. You're reading it completely wrong. The number on the X axis is the percentage of long passes completed, not the total amount. It doesn't matter how many passes have been played in total - if, like Bazunu, you've completed 60% of short passes, then 4 out of every 10 short passes are going to the opposition.
  21. It's a percentage so it doesn't matter how many short passes he's played, he's still the worst in the league at it. And long ball pass completion is as much to do with the person receiving it as the keeper punting it up field.
  22. Flock of pigeons absolutely shits itself on the pitch when the ball gets shot through.
  23. Got it working and we're 1-0 down already.
  24. You ballsed this right up. I'm editing it back. FA player keeps asking me to sign in to watch, even though i'm already signed in. Maybe it comes on bang on kick off?
  25. Sorry, i'll edit mine, you change yours.
