  1. Brilliant from Alcarez, Perraud and Walcott.
  2. Zonal marking, our tallest players are just defending zones and supposedly attacking the ball and smaller players mark their threats to try and put them off and nothing more.
  3. Walcott and Adams blast the ball at each others ankles to fuck up an attacking break. Just take a second and think about it lads, measured controlled passing ffs....
  4. I'd be tempted to shift Adams to the left and play Sulemana through the middle, get Adams playing the ball through for him plus it puts Martinez under more pressure of getting a second yellow.
  5. Save he should make, improvement...but still pushed it into the middle of the box. Came out very well there though.
  6. Alcarez is brilliant. Completely did his compatriot there and now Martinez is on a booking for 80+ minutes.
  7. Poor from Sulemana, Perraud made a fantastic run. Selfish.
  8. There's plenty of room, we just need to pass it quicker. At the moment we're trying to dribble the ball a lot and just getting crowded out.
  9. I disagree about his heading ability and when he has time his finishing is poor but can score from nothing. He's the best option. Bazunus first touch is a kick straight out of play.
  10. Honestly mate I feel like I'm going nuts, seems to be so many people on here still defending him when he's been worse than anything we've had since Gunn.
  11. Varane and Martinez too experienced for Onuachu just starting out in a new country. Adams is intelligent with his positioning and using his strength against defenders.
  12. Like the outfield. But with Bazunu in goal we're reliant on United making no shots on target that aren't straight at him, so still going to lose.
  13. Looking at the team all but maybe one or two of them played midweek and last weekend as well. Hoping they've run themselves into the ground a bit.
  14. One save this season which you wouldn't expect him to make, and let's be honest even that wasn't that spectacular. It's not good enough.
  15. Can we wait a few minutes after a goal to allow VAR time to piss us off before posting.
  16. Even with the Bournemouth win as things stand we can still get out the relegation zone with a win tomorrow.
  17. Well yes, considering we had 15 very winnable points in his run that we got nothing from.
  18. Today's going great.
  19. There you have a quality keeper making a difference for Bournemouth.
  20. Kelvin Davis was in goal for Sunderland in their disastrous relegation season so I don't think that's his career goals conceded per game.
  21. But I've seen Bazunu play plenty of passes straight to opposition and the stats show his passing is worse, so once again no matter what way you look at it Bazunu is worse than McCarthy. Also wanting a keeper who is better at passing over a keeper who will save more shots is absolutely mental.
  22. Well I tried saying "Bazunu is shit, McCarthy is slightly less shit" but people dismissed that too. If people want to bury their heads in the sand then go ahead but those defending Bazunu have now said that anyone with the opinion that he isn't good enough, whether objective or subjective, are worthless. The evidence of our eyes shows he hasn't been good enough and the stats back it up. What metric are people using to say he should stay in the team, without resorting to saying how he might come good in 5 years time?
  23. We are guaranteed relegation with Bazunu. You need a keeper who will actually do something to positively affect the game once in a while, Bazunu does nothing. He may well be a great keeper in 5-10 years but I don't care. We are the only team with a first choice keeper this young and he is statistically the worst in the league - the second worst is Danny Ward who is 23 and all the rest are over 25. It's not a coincidence.
  24. I've used my eyes, McCarthy was bad but is better than Bazunu who has been terrible. Fyi what a player does with the ball AFTER they receive it doesn't affect the quality of a keepers passing to them.
  25. This is unsubstantiated nonsense. I would bet that if someone fluent in stat-speak looked it up, McCarthys distribution would be no worse than Bazunus. In fact it was easier than I thought to look up. Bazunus pass completion this season is 54%, McCarthys last season was 56.4% and the season before that it was 61%.
