  1. Beating Derby 1-0 away with a great performance and coming back from 2-0 down away to Preston to win 3-2 in the last minute are the only highlights from that season. Possibly the last minute freekick from Saejis away to Watford, and the class counter attacking goal Lallana scored away to QPR. Seeing Michael Svensson in the team after so long out was incredible too, even if it did all end in tears again.
  2. I'd imagine there's also a bit of fear in the owners now that they could spend £25-30million and have us STILL go down, thinking that money would then have been better served spent next summer.
  3. What about sticking in Ballard or one of the other lads, get some fearless enthusiasm in attacking midfield.
  4. I remember the march to St Marys to protest against Lowe (think it was before a game v Swansea?) being rubbished on here, people were adamant it would be about 10 people turning up and be an absolute wash out. Turned the corner at Bargate and the crowd in front of me was huge. Was a good feeling knowing people cared enough. Really sad the apathy that has set in now.
  5. Him on the left and Edozie on the right for me would be a dangerous combination. Have Adams drop deeper to hold the ball up and lay it off with them two running beyond him but staying within width of the 18 yard box.
  6. We've been the worst team in the league so far this season easily, and our only saving grace is that we haven't fallen adrift yet. Only 6 points off 12th place.
  7. He came on as a sub for liverpool in their last game so don't think he's far enough down the pecking order for them to let him go without getting a replacement in first.
  8. Jermaine Wright played at fullback for us, it doesn't mean he was one. AMN has always been an attacking player filling in out of position. Waste of a career, from his point of view.
  9. We've been well and truly done this summer, we allowed Joe Shields to dictate our transfer policy before he promptly f*cked off to better things.
  10. For that comparison to work the guy coming in has to have something proven about him. He'd already won a european cup - if Saints replaced Ralph with Tuchel, Mourinho or Ancelotti and we got relegated i'm sure the fanbase would be all for keeping them and letting them rebuild the squad.
  11. Glad United did the right thing and backed the manager over Ronaldo. As fun as it is seeing the big boys struggle, I would much prefer a league where more than two teams are in the title race.
  12. It's been so poor, particularly at home, for such a long time now that it is difficult for anyone to muster the energy to stay behind the team. It's exhausting. I remember long periods where if Saints went behind, the crowd would be louder than if we were winning. Of course pricing out a lot of long-term fans who were there all through the previous fall down the leagues and back up again didn't help.
  13. He wouldn't have been registered in Citys squad as we signed him before they were submitted. You can sign for as many clubs as you want, you just can only be registered in a squad twice.
  14. Rashford looks reinvigorated by his world cup performances. Good to see really, he's definitely got a hell of a lot of talent.
  15. We market our sausage rolls as "longer than Bazunus arm reach". Don't bother suing for false advertising, it's not.
  16. I'd have a lot more trust and respect for SR running our club is they were able to admit their mistakes and attempt to rectify them. Nobody ever expects an owner, chairman, manager or player that never, ever gets it wrong - that would be an absurd expectation. But to blindly stick with poor decisions because of a fear of "admitting" that you got it wrong...that is dangerous. I feel bad for Jones, he should never have been put in this situation and maybe in different circumstances he could have made a career in the top flight, but an inexperienced side lacking in confidence led by an inexperienced manager is never going to work.
  17. Double loan deal with Mendy or Bettinelli in goal and a striker or DM coming the other way?
  18. It'll be interesting to see what happens if we lose convincingly in that game, for sure.
  19. Maintain he's got ability but he is not and never has been a defensive player.
  20. We should have gone for Domenico Tedesco and could still go for him.
  21. They should be fucking embarrassed of themselves.
  22. Blatant penalty ffs, what are you talking about. JWP with a goal from open play
  23. And a penalty. Need to build the team round this lad.
  24. "Lallana Marches All Over Saints" - the headlines write themselves.
  25. No they don't. This probably our worst performance since the United drumming.
