That's the one. Never heard that chant but that's brilliant.
-
Anyone? Not the "it's magic" one, it's to the tune of the old Liverpool "we got the best midfield in the world" one.
-
This has got 1-1 written all over it. Armstrong has been shit ffs, Djenepo should be playing.
-
What's that chant Saints fans have going now? With Livramento at the end?
-
Brojas shirt pulled all over the place there.
-
Playing like a team that's 5-0 up, relaxed and everyone trying to score themselves rather than play the obvious better option pass.
-
We're ignoring the forward pass in favour of backwards and sideways ones a lot more than we normally do.
-
Elyounoussi needs to improve his performances against the "lesser" sides. If he can tear Spurs and United apart, he should be destroying these.
-
Really harsh on Perraud. I'd be pissed right off if I was him.

It'll be hard to find a like for like for Romeu. The hard tackling midfielder is dying out, especially those with the ability to pass and run with the ball as well as he does. He's one that's really slipped through the net of the bigger clubs. Diallo, with an improvement to the defensive side of his game in terms of timing his tackles and positioning to intercept, will be a very good CM for us. Think of Kante - he weighs just as little as Diallo if not less, but he's capable of being an excellent box to box midfielder. I actually like the idea that he's going to be here for 2-3 years learning under Romeu and JWP before stepping up into the first team.

A keeper that caught my eye a while back while watching a Ligue 1 game was Alban Lafont, just looked him up more in depth and he's a good age at 23, plays for Nantes so would be available at a reasonable price you'd expect. Obligatory highlights video; https://youtu.be/ubnvJO0E3lE

I thought McCarthy was at his worst for us this season truth be told. Consistently at fault for goals conceded and we've been much better in that department since Forster came in.
-
One bad injury to a new keeper and McCarthy is back as first choice for a significant period of time. We should not be keeping him ffs. I might get slammed for saying this but if this is true it could be the best thing for us. If we can get £40million plus for him a year after spending £5million that enables us to ensure we keep KWP - a much better player - and gives us a really good amount of money to invest, possibly even funding a deal for Broja.
-
So they won it by default because we deemed it beneath us? That's amazing.

Just checked, she's joint top scorer in the tournament and for USA.

As has been said, teams below them have games in hand. Arsenal, wolves and spurs can all go above them depending on results which would put them down in 7th. And with the money they've spent they should be challenging for the title. United are now stuck in a vicious cycle where any manager they bring in needs instant success or they'll soon be out again, but the squad of players is such a mix match of styles that they need to give someone time to rebuild. New manager, old players don't fit, new signings, don't gel immediately, new manager, old players don't fit, new signings...repeat infinitely. But they'll never back a manager fully if it means selling the big money signings at a loss. It's a shambles really.

Our best performances have still come with Perraud at left back. KWP is brilliant at cutting in and making himself a threat, but the oppo defense know that they don't have to worry about anyone getting round the left and crossing it when he plays. With Perraud in the side, him getting forward down the left means that anyone else in the box is an issue for the defense as he's proven to be a brilliant crosser of the ball. It means the defense are more stretched because they have more to worry about. I also think there's a little bit of transfer snobbery going on, as he's an unknown signing from a lesser team for not very much money so fans are not giving him the credit his performances deserve. Since he's come back into the side he's been the best left back in the league for me.

Not saying we won't sell anyone, but the tactic of the pathway doesnt necessarily mean someone needs to be sold. For example signings could be made at CB (upgrade on Bednarek, possible replacement for Stephens whose contract extension was never officially confirmed), AM (upgrade on Djenepo, Walcott, Redmond) and striker (replacement for Broja and Long whose contract is up). Plus goalkeeper of course. Summer after we'd need to be looking to shift people on though. Having said that, if we were to sell anyone I think the most likely this summer would be Salisu and KWP - but I'd honestly rather keep KWP and sell Livramento. I think Tino will be off in a couple seasons anyway whereas KWP I could see being happy here for quite some time ala Bertrand.

If it was Saturday Tuesday I'd say maybe, but I think the strongest team can play both and then see who might need rotating for the weekend after.
-
Perraud tore Spurs apart offensively, to say he offers nothing going forwards is rubbish.
-
I did say I was being very conservative.
-
Looking at our remaining fixtures and being, IMO, very conservative with my predictions I have us finishing on 47 points.

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Saint_clark replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Cheers for keeping it up. Our head to head comparison may start to dip towards the end of the season but we've done brilliantly so far. -
West Ham are (should be) focussed on top 4 and rotating, we absolutely should go full strength for the cup and rotate in the games around it if needed.

Wasn't there today but difficult to believe it tops home to MK Dons in the semi final of the JPT, considering we had almost the entire stadium bar 300 tickets sold to MK Dons.
