I'd rather let them both go as well, and my point was that we shouldn't be picking McCarthy purely because he's the one willing to stay. Forster would win us more points over the course of the season of that I have no doubt.
-
How the hell do you skip ahead on this on mobile?
-
In a league of 20 teams McCarthy was the 21st worst keeper 😂
-
Nope, it was an estimate.

Timing of headers, how to get more power when leaping, how to position yourself when receiving the ball to win a freekick. The guy has a decade of experience playing in the Prem and the younger players have said how brilliant he is to have around in terms of morale and encouragement. There is a coaching role that would suit him, regardless of his finishing ability when playing.

It's utterly bizarre isn't it, he's clearly the better keeper and always performs as such. Can't even argue he prefers McCarthy for his kicking as Forster's kicking has been much better this last few games.
-
Long only had the one year extension didn't he? I'd like him kept on in a coaching role, playing in the reserves similar to Lancashire's role.
-
Where is that from? I am very surprised to hear the club actually come out and give a number on what we are looking to sign in this window.
-
"Better than McCarthy" is every first choice keeper in the Prem, half the second choice keepers in the Prem and half the first choice keepers in the championship. It's not much of an expectation.

Commercially we are absolutely abysmal. I don't know how much of that is just down to where we are both in physical location and standing in the game.

The kid was born in Slough and lived here his whole life to be fair. I doubt he feels the pressure as much as someone who lives in Albania.

Indeed, but it's also about accepting players with flaws if they have strong attributes that work in a team and overall contribute to regular wins.

They kept it very quiet!

Very disappointed that the loan wasn't asked about.
-
Cheer up, everything sounds good to me with this news today!
-
He could pay it off so the money is owed to him with the understanding that he'd make it back in any future sale.
-
Yeah that gave me a twinge.

Woman presenter reads out two questions from twitter and Adam starts his response with "There wasn't really any plans, erm to both those twits..." bit harsh.

Are you Martin in disguise?

Adam takes us on a journey through time, everything that's happened since Liebherr took over.

Even she sounds good after the news of a takeover. Nothing could piss me off today.

No money loaned to buy the club, no debt coming with the owners. Saints are targetted to be the "crown jewel" in their stable of clubs, ala Leipzig to the Red Bull group. All three have background in media and data investment specifically related to sports - the data part makes it sound to me like we'll be going back to the black box/moneyball style signings. This is a very organised, strategic move with a long term vision, it's not just "someone with a few quid fancies buying a club". More after this from Taylor Swift.

Saints to be the "crown jewel" in their stable of clubs, so the Leipzig of the group.

That specific quote is referring to investment in other clubs.
