  1. A signing I would be very happy/excited about but honestly don't see us making. Prove me wrong saints.
  2. If I had to guess I'd say it was written without knowing what was actually going on.
  3. Pretty sure his wife would know.
  4. Fresh ideas, experience, working with a winning side. The changes to the backroom staff are what will probably make me more excited for next season than a bunch of £10million youngster signings.
  5. If McCarthy didn't get injured last season I think we could have gone down, Forster put in some brilliant performances after coming back in.
  6. I'm a bit stumped as to why so many people on here seem to have forgotten that players who have been around for a few years and played more than 30 pro games will have learnt what to do and what not to do in certain situations, will have dealt with set back and won't be as disheartened by it, will have learnt how to properly manage a game when in a winning position instead of taking ridiculous risks. No-one is saying we sign aging players who haven't got much quality. But I just wanted to see someone in goal who is competent, knows how to deal with different types of plauers and who won't flake and fall apart at the first sign of adversity.
  7. I forgot that Sparkes was still here. With how our keepers have repeatedly regressed I would have rather had a full clearout of backroom staff.
  8. Gunn had a full season at Norwich at a higher level and was their player of the season if I remember correctly. He wasn't totally unproven.
  9. He may turn out to be an inspired signing, but it's nonsense that quality and experience isn't available for similar or less. Brentford got David Raya for £3million.
  10. Other clubs have released their retained lists... I was under the impression they had to be in by June to be honest. Any sign of ours?
  11. Lots of wages freed up and we've needed to improve goalkeeper for the longest time. However I am so worried that we're planning to go into next season keeping McCarthy as number one.
  12. Minamino gets goals in limited minutes at Liverpool because of the quality of chances created for him by the other much better forward players. Was not impressed with his ability to influence a game himself when he was with us.
  13. Opened talks for a contract extension apparently, no surprise to anyone that I'm happy about that. Extra 2 years on similar wages is what I'd be offering.
  14. I agree, that goal should have stood by the letter of the law.
  15. The defender clearly played the ball in a deliberate action. Not lucky at all, 100% a penalty.
  16. That cluster fuck of a freekick when you have JWP sat on the bench ffs.
  17. Game on!
  18. I was thinking the same, but wasn't he on £150,000 a week at West Ham? Doubt he'd drop enough to fit in our wage structure.
  19. Yeah must have been the Euros I saw him as I wouldn't have seen any of him at Gent or Benfica.
  20. Always liked that Yaremchuk, would like to see him at Saints.
  21. Come on Scotland!
  22. So we keep the ones that make zero impact and take a gamble on a £15million player doing better than he can?
  23. Experience of fighting relegation and winning the league. That kind of dismissive mentality would have seen us never buy Marsden...
  24. Would anyone consider Danny Drinkwater on a free transfer to add a bit of experience to the squad as well as competition in midfield?
  25. The point i'm getting at is that I don't think we should be looking to sell and replace all of them at the same time, and if we're going to keep one of them it should be the one that's actually made the most contribution - not just in terms of stats but also in terms of our best performances. Elyounoussi was instrumental in Spurs away for example, he tore them apart.
