  1. Even if we hold them to a draw it's all but over, they'd have to make up a 7 goal difference on City going into the final game against a team that's conceded less goals than anyone else outside the top 4.
  2. The fact they have a few out gives me hope, plus the fact our players do seem to love raising their game against the top sides (generally speaking, a few horrific results aside). Keeping Diaz quiet is really important though, I don't know if Tino is fit but I really, really hope he picks KWP at right back.
  3. Exactly, but the media and experts always tell us how dangerous it is for people to come out. Hopefully now it's happened everyone will shut the fuck up about it.
  4. Yeah i'd say it's almost impossible now for goal difference to matter, and Liverpool have had their fingers burnt before in going for a huge goal difference boosting win.
  5. Prowsey nominated for Premier League player of the season. Think he might have kicked on.
  6. There is some light left in the world after all. That's the best thing I've seen this year. I also have to say that's one of the best thread titles I've ever seen.
  7. In fairness we're only looking for backup to KWP and a stopgap till Tino is fit again. Signing a more experienced player on a one year deal might make sense.
  8. He's also a dirty cheating prick who I wouldn't want to see in a Saints shirt.
  9. I wouldn't want Raphinha or Ayling to be honest.
  10. Clearly you've never done an accumulator. I've had 60%+ of a betslip go against me more than I've had it go for me.
  11. I'm not suggesting he is the only signing we make.
  12. That's still missing the point. If Forster doesnt want to accept a reduced contract then of course that's his right. What I'm saying is there is no scenario in which we should be keeping McCarthy. Also I couldn't disagree more about the importance of investing in a keeper. I think it should be our number one priority in the summer. Having a much better keeper would probably be worth an extra 10 points to us at least.
  13. Optimist in me thinks of the last time they went desperately for a goal difference increasing win while chasing the league and Palace ended up coming back from 3-0 down to draw. We have that same level of fight...don't we...?
  14. Nketiah available on a free in the summer. Would be a perfect signing for a skint Saints side (especially with strikers being overpriced generally), would get us 10+ goals a season and mean we could focus funds on the defense and keeper.
  15. Can't find my post from before in this thread, but I'll just say it again...Nketiah would be a superb signing on a free transfer.
  16. What the fuck is wrong with us...
  17. There certainly are, so why are we so fucking incapable of finding one! Forster looked really pissed off today like he couldn't wait to get away from the shambles of a defence in front of him, and I can't blame him at all.
  18. Indeed it is. But as we are never going to get a result (win the league) and our best hope is midtable with the odd foray into Europe, the only thing Saints fans are paying their season ticket money for is commitment and entertaining football.
  19. -------------Forster ----Stephens Salisu Bednarek KWP -----Romeu JWP ----Perraud --S. Armstrong Adams Broja Three forwards to press the backline, two high energy defensive mids to help out the defense and high stamina fullbacks providing the width with a bit more security behind them to allow them to push forward. Bednarek plays better when he's left sided, pretty sure he plays there for Poland too. It shouldn't have taken us so long to figure it out and I doubt Ralph has, but it's absolutely the case.
  20. So that's it, we're officially in negative for both head to head and matchday comparison. How fucking sad is that. We were up so much for so long.
  21. I guess it means without needing a sale first. We bought Armstrong for that much after bringing in money from Ings and Vestergaard. Hopefully we can spend £15million without needing to sell first.
  22. Ive said for a long time that the refusal to spend upwards of £20million was ludicrous. We would be in a much better situation right now if we'd spent £30million on three proven quality players in that time rather than circa £100million on all that crap.
