Yeah...if he's out for another month or more now we're going to have to seriously consider whether keeping him next summer is viable. He's been fantastic recently, but can we afford to carry someone who can spend more than half the season out injured?

People say that attendances prove an expansion wouldn't be worth it, but there's a lot of evidence that points to a "build it and they will come" trend in football. If you have a ground that's easy to get to, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing...it usually winds up drawing more people in. There was an excellent chapter in the book Soccernomics about it. In this case though, I think i'd rather the money they're putting forward be spent on acquiring some of the land around the stadium and developing it for commercial use. If we could build a "plaza" type area with Saints owned and run bars, a restaurant etc. It would make St Marys an incredibly attractive destination.

Don't think it works like that for cups does it? Just the squad for the final?

Now THAT is the best video to come out of last night. Seeing the away end go mental, the bench explode...brilliant. For me it's being surrounded by the roar from all sides when you're playing away and the home team scores...especially if you're in a stadium with steep stands and you have to watch thousands of people go mental.

Good comparison. I've only just about forgiven Hojberg for the Beer Sheva game where he moved away from a ball passed to him, allowing the interception, shot and goal. He gave the ball away last night that led to Coutinhos shot just wide - had that gone in and we gone out, I don't think i'd have had it in me to forgive him at all. There is definite potential for a quality player there, but a lot of work to be done. We were all wondering why he wasn't starting earlier in the season...looks like Puel was right. Again.

OK guys, seems the general consensus is that for the cup final those who want to sing (and stand, if possible) are aiming for the lower tier behind the goal. Spread the word and let's get Wembley rocking again! 132-136 seems a good bet. Will be a nice feeling sitting in the same end and area as I did for the JPT...

Football being a money making business is an absolute myth, especially if you're buying clubs at this level.
