Arguably worse? He played for Boro who finished 4th, Adams scored his 22 goals for Birmingham who finished 17th. Only time will tell. I don't think he makes us stronger than we were last season however.

Depends on the definition really. Just on excitement/anticipation regardless of knowledge, it was Orsic. Turned out well. In terms of knowing for certain we'd made an epic signing who would be incredible for us, it was Lambert.

Didn't phrase it well, I didn't mean the second part at age 22 just that he has scored more than Archer in the Prem on 4 occasions. My overall point being that if the expectation is he will be an improvement on Adams, as you said "shouldn't be that difficult", then people will most likely be disappointed. I would be amazed if he manages to get the 10 goals we need from a striker this season - i'd imagine he will end up more like Armstrong when he first signed for us, getting 3/4 at most.

Che Adams scored 22 goals in the championship when he was Archers age and scored the same or more in the Prem in 4 different seasons. I think some of you are setting yourselves up for serious disappointment with this lad.

In movement and stature for sure, not so much in conversion. At the same age Defoe had 88 goals already.

I do like the look of this guy. Guessing we don't have an option to buy included if he's highly thought of at Chelsea.

If we try to play like City we'll go down. They can play that way because they can spend hundreds of millions just on their defence alone.

Just a long winded way of saying that just because Archer has more goals at a year older and literally thousands of minutes more game time, it doesn't mean he's actually any better.

Of course he could, Mara is not despite what some on here say literally the worst player in the world which means there are millions of players worse than him. In 3176 championship minutes and 1909 Prem minutes respectively, compared to 621 championship minutes and 541 Prem minutes for Mara. In fact if you take Maras ratio and give him the same amount of minutes Archer had, he would have ended up with 20 championship goals and 3/4 Prem goals.

The times I've seen him play he seems to snatch at chances, lacks composure. I'm sure I'll get ridiculed as writing someone off before they arrive but I'd like to remind everyone I was the person who made the infamous "all his goals seems scuffed or poor defending" about Che when we signed him
