You're right, we should stick with what we know works instead of something that was disproven by the 15 minute experiment 2 years ago. Worked well for us with Pelle.

2 seasons ago. Under a different manager. With different players.
-
No more buying a third division player for £10,000 and him turning out to be the glue that holds the team together.
-
Definitely the worst. I remember seeing a Leeds player head it behind for a corner with no Saints players within 5 feet of him and he signalled for a goal kick.

That atmosphere was nowhere near MK Dons in the JPT, or Pompey in the league cup, or Sheffield United under Pearson, or Coventry at home in the championship.
-
Yeah it's difficult to gauge. The best our atmosphere has been was from 2011 to 2016, starting with Adkins era and ending part way into Puels. No coincidence our most successful period in modern history. Unfortunately everyone from my group that had a ST from years before even that, all got priced out and stopped going. I expect there are similar stories all over, groups of people slowly disappearing a few at a time to be replaced by who knows who.

His interview post match where he throws one player under the bus and talks about taking responsibility while taking none himself is exactly why nobody likes him. The guy is a fucking prick. The kind of bloke that makes you and your mates get up and go somewhere else when he turns up at the pub.

Martin has mentioned this season that when he joined the plan was to be in the Premier League after 5 years. I don't think they will sack him if we go down as he will still have two years to get us back up and meet the target.
-
More atmosphere than our ground tbh.
-
I wish we were Bournemouth, etc.
-
I swear someone lost 10 games in a row at the start of a season a few years back? Was it Palace?
-
Bring back an Adkins and Pearson dream team.
-
For Norwich and Scotland.
-
What's he said post match then?
-
Getting rinsed in the replies.
-
Surely he's gone
-
Says it all that both goals were conceded within a few minutes of Martin's subs.
-
I don't know what he's got against Sugawara. Keeps subbing him off when he's playing well.
-
Amazing.

"The Russell Martin Charity match was a prime example of the type of entertaining attacking football you can expect when his style is fully embedded in the teams mentality. For this reason we are delighted to announce a further contract extension till 2035 on top of the extension signed last summer".
