  1. Look forward to them shipping in Asian men to pretend to be fans of the big nations whose fans don't travel just like in Qatar.
  2. If we go back up, sure. If we miss promotion then not getting that £40+ million will be a kick in the financial nuts.
  3. Great game. That Argyle side has so much potential, wouldn't be surprised to see them stay up.
  4. Doesn't mean we can't sign him in the summer. Yes he would be. He got 2 goals less than Armstrong last season playing for a much worse side. Armstrong scored a lot but also missed a lot.
  5. It's an amount they won't pay, but £20million would easily be enough to get us Morgan Whittaker who would be an upgrade.
  6. £20million and they can have him.
  7. Good way of looking at it, if we got relegated and signed two players performing as well as them we'd be buzzing.
  8. You can't invent a statistic, a statistic is just a record of how often something did or didn't happen.
  9. I don't think any WSL side gets over 10,000 regularly so there's no way Saints would be expecting that for us.
  10. Christ this multi club model is getting confusing, I can't even remember which players are coming to us from other clubs next summer.
  11. Announced well after midnight. *Subject to international clearance. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24907355.southampton-confirm-arrival-nigerian-forward-royal-antwerp/ SAINTS have confirmed the arrival of young forward Victor Udoh on a permanent transfer from Belgian side Royal Antwerp, The 20 year old Nigerian attacker has penned a three-and-a-half-year contract ahead of a move to St Mary's. Udoh has made 28 senior appearances for Belgian top-flight side Antwerp since joining them in 2023 from the Hypebuzz FC academy in Abuja. His best performances have come for the youthful Royal Antwerp II side, who play in Belgium's third tier, scoring 12 times in 21 appearances last season. He has made 12 appearances in the Pro League this season but has only racked up 75 minutes of action in total. The expectation is for Udoh to play for the club's under-21s initially, in a similar move to French defender Joachim Kayi Sanda, who arrived last month from Valenciennes. Udoh's arrival takes Southampton's winter arrival counter up to four with Albert Gronbaek the only senior signing. A deal to sign young Ivorian defender Abakar Sylla on loan from Strasbourg fell through in the final hours of deadline day.
  12. Bit of money, bit of savings on his wages, he bangs in goals for the rest of the season getting his confidence sky high ready for next season when we need him again in the championship. We'll also get a better price for him if he's been scoring for 18 months solid in the championship, if we go up next season and sell him on (Christ I hope we don't keep him again).
  13. What happened with Stephens coming on and then off again was he injured?
  14. I think there is a style of play which with the right players around him, sees Onuachu leading the line for a team comfortably avoiding relegation, yes.
  15. I never said that. What I was implying through what I said, was that I'm sick of players being written off because they don't fit into Guardiolas modern football revolution of uber efficient, hard working, possession retaining clones that work well when you can spend a billion on a squad but when you try to replicate it with 50p to your name fails entirely. Get some players in with strong attributes in certain areas and play to those strengths.
  16. He's a "gimmick" in the same way people on here wrote off Chris Wood and said we should be aiming for better than him.
  17. If we had someone who was the opposite of Onuachus stats we'd have someone who completed all their passes, won the ball repeatedly, won the ball in the air all the time and was never offside...but didn't score the winner.

    Ivan Juric

You're still arguing against a point that I never made.

Same as MLG, you didn't read the thread. I am saying we didn't have a problem with being ruthless under Adkins and replacing the players that got us promoted.
  20. It doesn't matter why it happened, it was still the lowest point in my time supporting the club. This season, however bad it's been, doesn't come close because we have a decent chance of bouncing back next season. That season we went down from the championship there was a very real possibility the club would cease to exist.

Are you AI now or something? That is completely irrelevant to the point I was making.
  22. Martins obsession with bearded, well groomed British "great lads" was fucking infuriating. It felt like he was trying to put a squad together that would be up for a lads Ibiza trip at the end of the season.
  23. Relative though, isn't it. The season we got relegated from the Championship was worse, despite the fact we finished with 45 points. The day we lost at home to Forest 2-0 with multiple fights breaking out between Saints fans in the stands was the absolute low point of supporting the club for me.
  24. Hell, you could add THB, THB and THB and get to 18.
  25. True, but if we appointed Juric in the summer we'd be happy with that so we should be sticking with him now regardless. There's already been some positive adjustments to the team/style of play and we'll probably see a few more before the end of the season.
