Been to a few non-league games this season where drums are sometimes used to get chants started then once everyone has joined in they stop, in smaller crowds they work well to get everyone involved at once otherwise it just isn't noisy at all. But yeah at top level they shouldn't be needed. 8000 is it the Northam holds, supposedly filled with people that want to stand and sing? Should be rocking.
