Would it also be fair to mention Delap? We never really seemed to get the best out of him, labelling him a utility player and sticking him all over the place And how many times did his long throw work for us?

Satman has been. And left a Arrggh moment. Had to change my system to get Al Jazeera working (for the Saints Games) It cost 30 quid extra to upgrade to a Sky+ type system - no brainer, and have a 2nd STB - cool I thought telly in the bedroom at last But of course the On Demand cannot take an Al Jism card. The 2nd STB only has kids channels So now I have telly in the bedroom that ONLy shows Footie, 6 Nations & Cartoons. Think the other half is gonna be somewhat displeased. Now is it worth heading up to watch a couple of sessions of cricket?

I'm amazed it took so long for someone to NOT READ the OP.... Delgado? Still think Charlie George at the time was a bigger disappointment Tin Man was an unknown to English Football "potential" star CG was proven quality - again through injury. Mark Hughes is a good shout but by the time we got him he was already a lumbering midfielder rather than the striker he had been

In contrast to "The Other Thread", who for you was a "Big Name", "Statement of Intent" "Marquee" signing that did NOT work out? Do you go all the way back to Charlie George & his Lawnmower? Would it have been John Beresford before his hairstyle messed up his knee? Or in modern times Saga after his loan spell? The Whoathere Morte Days? Discuss. Oh and yeah ha ha, we all know about Ali Dia, but NO he doesn't count as he was not a footballer signed from another club with a Pedigree/Reputation

Have to agree on that, "sudden activity" is a concern to the ONE poster who became quite aggressive in his opnion that we were acting too slowly in the market is a real head shaker. To answer the OP, Adam Lallana's tweet about how excited he is to have YF join and how he is looking forward to training should be the answer. Also I think that Guly may actually be on his knees in thanks that he may actually get a rest at last. Jos & SDR settled in to the "team ethic" really quickly as did Jack Cork & Danny Fox. The only way I see it being a problem would be if one of the new group was an arrogant **** but I think we have seen that our Scouts look for players that fit our profile, not just the next big name from FM

Gets worse Getting spun out for less than a hundred on the first day of a test match and we have only one spinner in the team.... Ouch

Jeez, bad start by England 42/3 Thank fook the Satellite man was an hour late, would have been getting grumpy by now. Reads like Strauss & Cook played poor shot selections on a slow pitch.

IMHO it seems NA is starting to think a little further ahead. The "standard" formation these days in the EPL is to play variations on 4-3-3 and 4-5-1, but basically with a lone striker With the extra "attacking" wide player coming in, this now gives us a midfield 5 - 3 strong CM's with the rotation of AL, YF, SDR & Guly. AL took some time to get back to his usual standards after his foot injury and some are starting to think that Guly is in need of a break, and NA rotated his CM's regularly earlier in the season. With the nature of the 4 "extra" AM's we also have the option to go to a diamond but also to have two up top with Lee AND we have that cover now (and the makings of the squad cover in each position that we would need when we hit the PL) All of which is then blown out the water with the Hooper interest..... Hmm confusing But next season would expect to see much closer to the one up that the majority of PL clubs use these days

your club has no chane of getting a celtic star player .

Isn't it great. After the grim days we swan off and have some fun in L1 and get totally forgotten about. And yet within a few months of getting back into the nPc we start upsetting other clubs. Wonder how they'll feel up there when they find a horses head in the centre circle before their next home game -
Ouch. So it is announced on Twitter by the Saints Official Feed around 8pm last night It is announced on the Saints Official Web Site at the same time All the links are posted on here And yet you wait until it is on THFC & Sky to say "it seems to be fact" So you don't trust our own web-site? Ouch. Conspiracy? Maybe somebody needs some defence witnesses

One point mentioned in some of the media reports however was that the normal "sail Past" was done on "the other side" of the Island. ie East instead of West or vice versa or topsy turvy. Also this sail past "seems" to have been much closer. there are also contradicting reports - many say the Captain was entertaining at Dinner (as is normal). Only fact we know about is the gap between the impact and the abandon ship order. Clearly the delay from the impact through Damage Assessment to Abandon ship is understandable. However in that time, the ship began to list which from many reports of eye witnesses made the Lifeboat evacuation far more difficult/dangerous than it should have been. No idea if it is relevant but I do have a lot of UPS Industry knowledge, and that the back up power feeds are normally wired into the main circuitry for non-critical systems. IF there was a major Power Surge that took out the Surge Protection/Relays/Fuses then that may have limited their Electric Power to systems. Won't cast blame yet and will only post links if & when I find them. However like any disaster, in any part of the world, some people were heroes and some were....

Oh to hell with work. Dusted off my Barmy Army Cap & Tee Shirt General admission midwicket/cover area is Aed 20 which is about 3.50. I mean, come on, that's just stupid to watch a days' cricket. It's 18 quid (for 3rd Test) in the "area with beer licence" but will drive up tomorrow so a beer free day Have got tickets for the weekend of the 3rd Test, but a mate called up so there will be a Saints flag on show from Lunchtime onwards and I have one mtg at 10 (start time) and one at beer o'clock in the evening, thanks to someone missing their flight today Dull flat lifeless pitches are the norm here & probably a bit on the slow side. Abu Dhabi tickets next week are free outside our weekend. And because it is in UAE TV rights sold to an Indian company so if I want to see what is going on 9 miles up the road I have to go myself. A wise choice would be to pick 2 spinners, in a 5 man attack - but with no Tim Bresnan think that is out the window now so may mean some overs for KP Hope Ian Bell's whack on the arm from Gooch's Dog thrower is cured Bound to be a lot of activity in our local Curry House - Ravi's which is (allegedly) the hub of the local Asian gambling market that so came to grief with the ODI "fixes" in Sharjah. Should give us a tougher test than in England
