http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/8550522/Wimbledon-and-Glastonbury-set-to-be-scorching.html being used to heat I'd already shipped some packets of Pocari Sweat over - a great Isotonic drink you can add to water. If this is true then I'd suggest packing some of the Isostar tabs you can find in supermarkets to drop into water bottles to keep going Note that I am only advocating dropping Isotonic drink tabs into bottles of water at Glasto, NOT dropping tabs into - ah hell whatever.. Have also packed a fleece gloves & wellies seeing as it's the UK Met Office -
Went there for Eng v Croatia in 2004 Euros'. Company had Corporate I got some spares. Took along a local Radio Station DJ (my best mate) we had a blast & did phone in reports back to the Station during the day (he did the proper stuff I did the fans-eye-view), Well I'm in the middle of a square doing the show and this tout comes up and says - You want Hash? Grass? I'm trying to push him away, station DJ back here is saying "what was that? do we have a crossed line?" then this tout pulls out a Bonzai Tree & what appeared to be a huge bar of chocolate and is shouting best quality drugs no problem.... The Sound Engineer killed the link - we were white faced - UAE has some of the strictest Drug laws in the world - 4 years for possession 4k pounds fine & Deportation (and possession includes being in your blood stream). Now want to keep an anti-drug policy? Then implement the one we have here. But you will have to build one hell of a lot of Jails. Oh and the argument to a teenager that it is illegal in England? LMFAO - Most kids of that age do it BECAUSE it is illegal - it's an act of rebellion. Mate of mine found his Kid (15) had stashed some grass away for a party. Mate called him down and gave him the riot act. Then proceeded to take out his stash and burn it because "It was the worst quality he had ever seen in his life) Pulled out a Joint, lit up and said - well son if you want to start then smoke proper stuff. Kid was So embarrassed and suddenly it wasn't "Cool" Not advocating one way or the other. I wouldn't use either approach. But for every teenager wanting to be scared that it is illegal there are 1000 more doing it BECAUSE they (and UK society) have actually lost all respect for the law and it is "cool"

The problem is that like many "debates" there are polarised views ingrained over the years. Nobody ever seems to step back and look at the whole picture and look for something new. Watching the Sky report it started with "should look at new ideas" that the letter proposed and then fell straight back into Law & Order & Health debates. Nobody seems to start from point 1. Some people wish to take drugs. Drugs are bad for you. Drugs create a massive burden on the Health Service Drugs cause crime as addicts seek to find money It causes enviromental damage as each "electronic item" nicked by a druggie is sold for a few quid and yet the Insurance company pays for a brand new unit stipping even MORE precious material from the earth. Now all of those basic facts lead to some simple answers Drug education is not good enough to deter people Health monitoring systems are not in place and Druggies only get help when it is "almost too late" The DEBATE about banning such substances is all but lost. It hasn't worked in 50 years. BUT the whole thing is nobody ever comes up with any other solutions. There are zillions of ways to start from a blank sheet to look at how to manage the problem. Make it illegal to discriminate against anyone taking recreational drugs in a work environment so that you can hold a "Drugs Licence" Issue Smart Cards with metered allowances to anyone wanting to take drugs after passing a "Driving Test" (Parental approval required) Sell the drugs directly by the Government to fund that, an increase in Police resources & Health & Education Centres. (Oh and make it cheaper than the illegal drugs) Make non-State used Drug crime penalties FAR more heavy Have compulsory medical and mental testing to retain said licence 6 monthly or annually and send people at risk to centres for help. Decriminalise Drugs doesn't mean make them legal it can also mean taking the Supply Chain away from criminals. And none of thise above are an actual answer, it needs far better minds than mine on the problem. but nobody ever thinks that way and if they DO it gets drowned out in "Law & Order Debate" So it won't go away & people will still get their DVD's/Ipads nicked But

I played Golf here yesterday afternoon for 2 hours. It was 34C. I nearly died. Have noticed the weather forecast for the rest of June. Temperature expected to hit 33C in UK around the time of Glasto. Oh great. And to make it better strong likelihood of heavy thunderstorms in the evenings. -
Serves you all right for watching X Factor/ BGT. You should have tuned your dishes West & watched American Idol.
-
Ha Friend My yes. His bad the English Confidence for when is the speaking making not very often when good (translates as their English Language Comms skills are not good enough to lock intellectual sparring horns with the likes of the The News & Tony Husband)
-
Yup. The money for the sponsorship of the F1 team last season was what they had originally allocated to buy Bompey.
-
Funnily enough finished that off last Friday was still perfect. OK yes hammy you're on the list mate IF it all goes to plan!
-
Lol. I have a very smug daughter today over in London. She's into equestrian stuff. She had rows with her mates about how she should apply for zillions of different tickets so she would be sure to get something... Nope, she only wanted to see the showjumping final could give a rats about any other Olympic event. She only applied for 2 tickets - got them both. Her friends who applied for zillions? got the sum total of nothing between the 10 of them.
-
He's welcome to her, couldn't stand her - he's welcome to her. Luckily the only footballers the Gf fancies play for Saints

No, it is more general than that. Whether we like it or not it shows that Incompetent and Uncontrolled Management are a clear problem in any sector. Considering the masses of Legislation imposed on Business and UK in general it is perhaps even more shocking that incompetent morons can still get 100k per year jobs in any walk of life. However when it comes to CARE of people, NO organisation Public OR Private should be granted any licence (or employment) unless they understand that fairly important phrase "Duty of Care" They must have a FIRST AND OVER-RIDING Duty to Care, not a Duty to fill in forms and report on performance against targets

Wooo Hoo! That's the day I collect my CamperVan for Glasto from dangerously close to Poopey so I can pop in on my way back home & get my new shirt. AND EoA will be in town as well. Perfick
-
Like I said on the other thread in gen Sports Don't need petitions in this day and age - Facebook brought down 3 Dictators it will kill Blatter's reign just as well
-
I didn't apply for any tickets. My mate runs an event company at the Olympics. I have just found out I will be an event manager next summer. It cost me 2 pints of Magners and letting him beat me at Golf. I think that was a much fairer way than becoming a Local Councillor.
-
I wonder how their arrival would go down if they had once upon a time put their real feelings for Poopey onto an email? Oh that would be fun. Think I'll advise the taxi driver to keep hold of it for a while, I'm sure it'll be worth a few bob to one of the Sunday's one day, and I am sure he'd never breach any trust. Just a damned shame I happen to work with a specialist anti-hacking company and might just know some experts in the field MOTWYW

Also notice that the bloke that owns the Lotus F1 team has said on Twitter that he wants to buy them... HP is my favourite & somewhere in the Torygraph sports pages

Very unusual for Emirates to make any comment such as this. For them the World Cup is a massive value for their money. To have taken ANy risk at causing ANY offence to FIFA so that would allow someone like Qatar or Etihad into the trough is actually quite impressive. The guys at Emirates Events who run this sort of stuff are bright, and the head - Gary Chapman - is an Aussie so perhaps felt annoyed enough to allow the statement to come out. The ones to push very hard in the next weeks are the Asians - Sony, Kia, Hyundai. It doesn't just need to be a boycott, telling all your mates on FB or Twitter to join in condemning them for not "being concerned" it will soon spread
-
Would be a great signing. The way RL drops back I can see us almost playing a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation. Will be about whether he wants a season of PL struggling or to actually get on the bus and ride a wave
-
Perhaps the best answer to that would be "Who cares, as long as it wasn't us." Although I would imagine that more than a few Bombey fans may be asking somw searching questions of Eddie Mitchell this evening. Eddie refused to talk to them back last summer as he did not believe that they were serious about buying a football club and didn't think they had any money. He was quite eloquent in the Bompey Echo about them.
-
Yes. Think Rupert Lowe but with dodgy money. Arrogant, no respect for due process, will not listen to anyone who gives them any advice. Owners at one other club walked out on them. They embarrassed themselves with another club chairman by not even letting him open his mouth when they started to tell him why he was useless and should give them the club for nothing. HTH
