I'm going out on a limb here. 99.9% of the time Deppo managed to find the right thing to say at the right time. Just occassionally he made a comment that wasn't actually funny - think we've all crashed & burned. It was noticeable that anyone who may have made an even slightly knock back comment about an unfunny got something unpleasant back, either from him or some pop up occassionally types. He was a valuable part of the forum and made it better, he also showed his comic timing but deep down Saints loyalty in the match thread. But, at the end of the day out of his 10,000 or so posts if even 0.2% of them broke the rules then actually, although I hate to say it, he was a tw#t for not taking note. Lifelong ban - that's not right, but if he doesn't listen would he have learnt again? So he's a fecking stupid arrogant idiot for getting banned. I hate him for it. OK I didn't believe. mate is learning needs Volunteers - fook off you are not messing with my head - so one of the girls in the office who wanted to give up smoking said she'd volunteer buit asked me to Chaperone. Mate took her under but instead of doing the "Smoking is a bad thing" went deeper and acyually "Regressed her". She talked about why she had taken it up in the first place, and afterwards? yep she gave up for about 3 years. So she went on stage and...... Took my youngest & his mate along to watch my buddy. Youngest simply seemed to fall asleep. But as "we were mates" he didn't do the usual wake them up & kick them off he left him.... About 30 mins in to the show (after his mate had woken up) Youngest suddenly sat up & my mate went up & said - you all right? Son says yeah fine thanks Dave (mates name) & son stands up... Mate says hang on just one moment - are you hypnotised? Son says no I'm fine - Mate says "Sleep" Son is out cold... about a minute later mate does the Swan Lake Ballet sketch... Son is there doing the whole Pas de Duex...... Afterwards he said it was just weird, he knew where he was and knew there was an audience and yet he also simply had to dance ballet.. (Which for a Bass Guitarist in a local Emo band was a -pretty massive thing to admit)... Plenty more... Hope your Sis didn't encounter "The Gun".........

OK, it's time. we've had all sorts of threads of late about Belief, Clairvoyants etc. So let's get down to something simple. Who's actually been hypnotised? Anyone been to a Hypno Show? Anyone ever dug in to the actual Science behind it? I had the good fortune to spend a couple of nights out on the town (over here) many years ago with Alan Bates. He was a real normal guy, and we had a real blast. I'd watched his show and like everyone tried to work out how he could fly so many people to Dubai to sit on stage and act the way he suggested. Then a mate of mine became a proper "Give up Smoking/Cure your fears" Hypnotist before becomg a stage Hypno. Let's just say if this thread takes off and we get a debate I have a few tales to tell having seen it actually work on mates & family (lol) Hell, one night just for me he even turned the "volunteers" into a Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo

But seriously, have seen a few episodes over the years when I have been back in UK and it really is awful. When you compare it to American Idol and the actual talent (apart from thick bimbo Haley) that they seem to dig up. Think the difference is that the Yanks understand from the start that it is simply a marketing exercise and they get it.
