I hate Hillsborough. Went many years ago with Brother & his then GF now ex wife, minding my own business walking out after a defeat (those were the days) and got hit right between the eyes by a 2p piece chucked by a well 'ard Owl muppet in the upper tier. Split my fecking forehead open and bled like a stuck pig. Ruined my Saints shirt as well. Hope they get they takeover they deserve simply for that

One of the things we need to do in order to win is ...

Blimey. All those fecking years supporting Saints and none of us ever worked that one out. Meanwhile on topic. Park a bus in front of goal and hoof it out on the break -

Ah back on topic thanks.... Shortly after Marcus emerged as our owner, I am sure that (possibly not seriously) I recall one poster making a similar comment regarding a yellow tinge to his complexion. The Watch story seems to tell us of a man who knew something. I think it will (and should) remain an unanswered question, because we have already placed Marcus on a pedestal as a man, a saviour and a human being. To then find out that he did what he did in the past months knowing that a clock was ticking would then make everything that has gone before in the past year or so seem very very different and, I think it would break my heart, simply because I don't believe I could be so brave and focused if it were me. The whole JPT camera moments we have of him, the whole pressure to push on last season. No. I prefer not to know Thanks

Why are we so crap at the beginning of the season..?

An away draw at Wycombe that we were favourites to win and where the two points dropped may just have placed the 6th place club under extra pressure in the run in. I'm with Alps on the being critical about not winning games we should. I am not happy that we cannot break down parked buses (BUT not many teams at the highest level actually can either otherwise noboddy would do it - example - The World Cup) Alps is right. IMHO he puts his opinion across wrong wrong wrong. (As in I think he'd make more sense making his point after a dozen happy pills and with more irony and smiles) but then hell, he ain't me and he ain't anyone else (thank fook) BUT his point is we have a tactical failing. I agree with that. BUT I do NOT think the failing is down to Pardew ALONE. Our players are LEAGUE ONE standard - sure the better ones in League one but THEY AIN'T PLAYING IN THE PL for a reason. Either they ain't that gifted OR they ain't THAT bright. The TEAM and the Manager are at fault. AP has told us he is not happy with the squad. All of us have seen we need a Papa/Antonio to change things and we need yawn... The only difference I have is that the club have told me they know what they want (it WASN'T in AP's notes in the Reading Programme it was a fecking CLUB statement) so BECAUSE this is a new world I will do what I am told - WAIT. IF the club brings in a player who could have been in Serie A (and others) will all those saying AP should go because .... APOLOGISE? Will they feck. The TEAM and AP are to blame. Lambert - faded - we didn't break down Orient. Sack AP. FFS Lambert had an INJURY and it was his FIRST 90 minutes. Of COURE he faded. Of COURSE we had no Plan B - BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T SIGNED THE COVER FOR LAMBERT YET -
Oh do PLEASE hang around. The only technical error you have made so far has been the fact that you should have posted this into The Lounge. You guys should know by now that we LOVE takeover threads. Especially ones that give comedy value OR go on and on and on and on and on and on and on In fact. If we get both out of one thread you could even be allowed to become a media celebrity like the founder of the Poopey thread. Stick around, this could be going places.

Am half way through re-watching the original series of The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin. Great. I didn't get where I am today without being able to remember the old catch-lines. I'm not really a review person but even 24 years on it is such a wonderful inciteful p*ss take on any form of Corporate Life. The GF has found some of the accents hard to fathom but still follows the gags and is loving it as much as I am. And boy, how many people have made zillions selling Grot since he came up with the idea. 5 quid in an HMV sale ages ago and had never taken them out until this week. Wonderful writing and wonderful acting by Rossiter. Super

How the hell did you find that out? It was supposed to be a secret. Mods how DARE you leak such critical and confidential information. Infract the lot of yourselves

I think the OP makes an important point. It's the sort of point that should be made because it is important. Points like this form the mainstay of an internet forum such as this, allowing so many people with such intellects to discuss, analyse and argue other points that are important. I'd like to thank the OP poster for raising such an important point. I think the world is much better for the point being made and I shall go happy into the new week ahead knowing that out there in internet land there is an important point. Thankyou

Wow talk about two birds with one stone this thread explains where our funding will now come from and solves the all important CM position issue AND what looks like a quality potential. Will it be alleged white powder for the PL or Thai Massuers for former down the road types. That NC works in mysterious ways

Possibly we are seeing psychology at work here. Everyone knows we need a new CM. Most are saying they want a permanent signing not a loan (for that position). MS is still young and is still improving, Hammond is not a word beater (except sometimes compared to Wotton) but he did have a decent season last year and we did miss him when he was out. And yet now he sits there getting motivated for the game knowing that in a week or two he's going to be relegated to "the bench" for the rest of the season when we bring in a better CM. Must be galling to know you're not considered good enough, no matter HOW professional you are and how much "fighting for your place" is talked about -

Not many more days to see if he and the others really do respond to the bleedin obvious IMHO. A test of nerve. We all know what we need (as does the club) The next 9 days will tell us a great deal about the rest of the season and who will be running us (ok time zone 10 for you lot) -

Listening to the game my thoughts Jaidi & Fonte didn't seem to be able to work the ball out from defence properly... Is Jaidi now really just for those days when we need a hoofing lump? Possibly Two players making first starts of the season, we start brightly and then run out of steam. yep well that's what tends to happen when players aren't match fit, and of course the back up players on the bench aren't cover for AL & RL. Sounded grim if Weston Saint posts like that, but I'll still wait for the new signings. Any word yet on who the player and agent were behind the Solent crew? -
We never score last minute winners

OK topped up with a second can of Bulmers on Ice (12 bottles of Magners 25 quid, 24 cans of Bulmers 15 quid Ramadan special offer - ho hum) Wonder how EricofArabia managed with his cunning plan to get out at half time to get a pint of OSH Seems a player & agent sitting behind the commentary box "looked like a wide player or striker" nobody recognises him. Someone at the game get a zoom lens out he's right behind the 'taters. We need an ear lobe pic
