  1. Who's this Morris we're signing? His goal celebration looks a bit ghey
  2. Oh thanks, in fact I would not charge you the normal commission for working with such a global sporting legend. If I wasn't collecting mine on 11th July I'd actually pay you your costs rather than charging you my usual 30% Image Rights. Annoyingly my lad who lives in Frankfurt is back home this weekend so he'll get his before me. Oh and by collecting mine in July I would beat the local postal system by something like 3 months.
  3. I like it. Wearing the stripes at games is special, and seeing them in an English town makes sense, but when you're stuck in a foreign land watching in a pub on your own, wearing the stripes just looks naff. This however is a shirt I can wear down the pub or the shopping mall as well as at the games I manage to sneak home for. I'll take it
  4. :partyman::smt026:smt113:smt041 Hooray!
  5. They should be sold in the Megastore, very good for local offices (and us expats)
  6. So consider how a loyal customer feels when having accumulated over 250,000 airmiles, books an upgrade to business from traveller plus for a flight lasting 17 hours, arrives at the check-in to be downgraded even THOUGH they are a Gold Card member. Then sits back in Traveller Plus and finds the passenger next to him is staff who after the cabin door is shut is moved to an empty seat in First by a "fellow old fogey crew member" It is not a "Perk" in BA it is a con. The reason the crew are "so old" compared to other airlines is that they understand the value of this perk and the ability to walk off with about 100 quid's worth of Duty Free which is then no doubt shared around friends each flight.
  7. The old Home Team dressing Room at SMS :-)
  8. Bump Any update? I got so bored waiting I decided to upload a technically very poor picture but one that could open up a whole host of new threads. As in - Look everybody, nothing is happening at the Football Club...
  9. Yes, but this year more than any other the African Swallow will have an impact
  10. Yes, because that would mean that Storrie teller had got away with it
  11. I'm gonna have a fun week on here coming up. My family member who is an IP counsel is coming on vacation for 2 weeks. He was spot on with all his Fry knowledge and being a Spud still annoyed at the SF result I'm looking forward to finding out what is postable gossip about "The industry in General" oh happy daze coming up Bullfrogs and the Seaview with the added bonus of dirt dishing (allegedly)
  12. Well, it's getting late into the night now. Anyone know if AA has upped the anti and "been in receipt of an email"?
  13. For those with longer memories you may recall that this "organising a forum to try and solicit answers" happened once before. The original intentions were great and good, but the aftermath of recrimination and abuse helped to hasten the demise of that forum. Those who tried to tale time out were abused in the most repeatable terms as "muddling egotistical morons". Some of them still recieve regular abuse even today, so no, it is not going to work. The Echo won't give us "group editorial space" as we compete with their own comments/forum pages which they use to drive hit rates to gain advertising revenues. What SHOULD happen is that the Echo could publish the results of our more sensible polls but again, how do we define "Opinion" As an example, I have expressed concerns all season regarding NC and the stories we have heard yet I still fully support his decision making to date. How will a representative from the forum put my opinion across? There are a number of (justifiably) outraged posters dominating threads at the moment about Communication, Installments, Ambition or Pitch Mowing, but are they the OPINION of all of us? What is the percentage of supoprt for Dune's campaign? If we really look at the threads then it would say "The majority of Saints fans are concerned just a little bit but think it is a storm in a teacup at the moment and are keeping a careful eye and reserving their judgement" Result - is a fudge for some, and not getting an opinion across for others. So great idea, we SHOULD have some form of voice, but NOT this way, only pain and hurt await
  14. Wondering if we'll ever see Charlie George play
  15. Not to mention the Approximate Airspeed Velocity
  16. The magical ID 90 as it is called here. Staff get the airticket at the discount. Emirates crews get some at ID90, some for family at ID50 and if they are in their first year at ID80 I believe. BA are supposed to class staff travel as Standby. The problem there is that they get first call for empty seats on an aircraft. Frequent Flyers (ie LOYAL CUSTOMERS) who have earnt for example 200,000 miles in a one year period due to their jobs then try and book their reward flights to find they are unavailable - because the staff are using them. An ex BA employee once told me that 90% of the supposed available FF seats on the main routes are used by staff taking their families on holidays, so that a customer who spends sya 100k on travel with the airline gets nothing - and eventually takes that business elsewhere. My source tell me that Emirates prioritise the FF reward seats, they recognise that without their regular customers they would lose revenue, so staff don't get standby rights at the same level of priority but they DO get the rights. Oh and another gripe - you can ALWAYS tell the staff flying free on BA Long Haul, because 1) you get no service as the crew are talking to them all the time and 2) after they shut the aircraft doors they invite the crew as far forward in the plane as they can give them so that they get to eat and drink the Business & First class food and beverages. Considering BA serve Johnny Walker BLUE label Whisky & Dom Perignon in first, that's a lot of extra perks. yes I got screwed by this and yes I am still angry and yes I rant about it
  17. So, what you are saying Gemmel is that he has had a phone call about a prospective takeover. Now, where have we heard that one before? Oh I see so THAT's why he is retained as a Consultant.
  18. Compare his public statements with those of Mark Fry. Then add in that Fry had at least 4 verbal bids with proven funds that he knocked back in the early days, everyone of which would have secured an immediate payout for creditors in the region of what AA is currently estimating he will get over 5 years, AND most of those bids included a future bonus payment on promotions.... Complete joke is Andy. IMHO He isn't really an Administrator at all, he is a nightmare combination of Rupert, The Exces, Leon and Wilde and his only wish in life is to spend his time playing with train sets. I bet if you look at his School report it says " I want to be a Football Club Chairman when I grow up" Which makes him just like a lot of other people we know.
  19. PMSL That one is priceless for many more than one reason Oh and BTW it is not permitted to own two teams in the same COUNTRY, but it is possible to own two teams in DIFFERENT countries. For full details on how to do that just mail Abramovich, Roman
  20. Losing more games in a Season than we win. Kids standing on milk crates at the front of the terrace. Sitting your nipper on a Crush barrier so he or she can see Paying to enter the stadium on the day with coins
  21. Should make for interesting viewing. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2010/teams/england/7815134/World-Cup-2010-Alan-Smith-says-bounce-of-the-Jabulani-ball-is-sure-to-baffle-all.html Clearly this was the ball used in the Forum Match, which would explain why some of the Away team looked like such lemons trying to control it. But more to the point, WHY do FIFA keep coming up with things that turn a sport based on skill, technique and concentration into a Lottery? Nuts
  22. In general like you say it is about what type of airline do BA want to be, they gave up being regional and left all that money on the floor for their competitors.
  23. Tell you what my back garden could do with some soil on it. Can someone pop down and fill up 60Kg's in suitcases for me. I'll be back in Southampton in September time and will pick it up thanks
