Interestingly was checking today, SAA have a code share with Emirates and have seats from Dubai to JoBurg on Emirates flights which are full... The word is that Emirates simply blocked seats on the flights at full price so they can sell packages not sure if true but will do some digging Hutch - any ideas on the best way to get to Port Elizabeth or where to stay? I'll have around 4 or 5 days down there IF can get the travel sorted & the GF gets her vacation request approved

And all the related MOD type supply companies, Hampshire Police, National Health, or on the web.... Current members include FPT Industries, VT Group, Hampshire Constabulary, HM Revenue and Customs, Ministry of Defence, Portsmouth Housing Association, Warings Construction Group, The Listening Company and IBM. Or possibly the P&O operation.... Or of course he NOW refers only to The City, in which case he is ignoring their catchment area, and so he now states that their operation is really only of interest to a far smaller audience. Must be nice to be a few member in Havant and to be ignored Still, when did PCFC ever let the facts get in the way of a statement to the press

As someone else said - West Ham. We all know we'd have got away with it if SLH had kept the Radio Station :-)

Nothing much new in any of those press articles that hasn't been discussd on here, except for the gem that the skates are Portsmouth's 2nd largest employer with 600 over half of whom are part-time. So obviously the council isn't very big then, and nice spin chaps. My feelings - everything makes sense, HMRC would listen to the arguments and in normal circumstances would likely adjourn leaving the sword of Damocles hanging over them. However, they did that before and they got ignored. You can take the p1ss once, you can likely take it twice, but trying the same trick a third time? Needs a new angle if it's going to work

MK Dons Build Up Thread - It's a sell-out, folks!

I'm worried about this game. We've been poor the last couple of games We on here are ****y and over confident Jeez, haven't we learnt ANYTHING over the years. The fans, AP's selection and the players have to be on top form tomorrow, anything less and we could be looking like total pratts. We SHOULD win this, we WANT to win this, but the players and fans have to go with the right mental attitude because we could very easily lose it. -
Hiya Grammy - how are the boys at Deacons? When I was in Hong Kong on vacation last summer I went past a fish market, There was a fish that had been cut in half and all it's insides were on show. alongside it was a tank of water. The fish was still trying to flap itself off the slab back into the water it made a horrific video. Nobody had told it that it had been dead for some time, just like the skates. The more I watch, the more it is becoming clear. Portsmouth's football club is nothing to do with what is going on any longer. My guess is the last few days Storrie teller has finally worked out that nobody gives a toss about him any longer. I've felt it was about buying time for the club, but I'm now doubting that, I think the club is finally working out they have no chance as they no longer are a part of whatever game has been going on. The game is MUCH bigger than just them. It may have been a con to get revenge on Chanrai, it may be to do with the legal issues in Israel, but somehow I think they may have just realised they have been somewhat massively conned and instead of buying time it is now about damage limitation - which means Storrie's career. It has always seemed fishy, but people who COULD have helped have not had calls returned, almost as if it didn't really matter. Probably I'm miles off but somehow to butcher something dear old Sherlock said - when nothing seems to make sense then perhaps you are using the wrong filters to view the problem. Even IF they found someone with more money than brains tomorrow I'm getting the feeling it won't matter a damn. The pain in skatesmouth could be as nothing to the embarrassment in the FA, this could really hurt the entire football industry if my stupid opinion is even close to being right

There will not be any "signals" There will not be any room for sentiment or emotive pleas The law says this, the question will be asked and the law will decide if the answer is legally acceptable and the evidence is factual and makes any of the situation expedient or extenuating under the law. If it is not legally acceptable then the judge will read the law book that states the exact terminology of how and what the content must be when he makes his judgement. there ain't no emotion in law, just grey greyer and confusing. (Business Studies, Year One How the Law works) ANYTHING - else emotional appeals, dodgy deals etc will have to be done BEFORE they enter court

Now THAT is revealing. It smacks of total utter and complete desperation as well as a total lack of understanding of any business etiqette in Europe, let alone the Middle East. To give a simple example - just think back to when we were dying on our feet under the return of the Dark Lord. How many times did the club issue any form of statement about what they were up to with regard to a rescue? - none. We had pages and pages of threads about that and the lack of activity, the opinion on here was that nothing was happening. BUT even IF something had been happening it would have all been covered by NDA's, nobody needs to read in the media that they are being begged to help. As for business down here - why did Liverpool end up with Hicks & Gillett? Because the board tried to use the media to get a better deal out of guys down here. Anyone remember Charlton? They were being bought for 30 mil with huge funds being invested until - yep they told the press. For those expecting the death of them down there, then this shows the fat lady is already in the building. It's as believable as Whacko's Bournemouth interview and as likely as his petting zoo.

Jeez here I am with me legs falling off having had a full day looking after my mate Rory and then having had to run back & forwards down 3 playoff holes at the golf today (bloody exciting though and a WTF to Tom Watson at 61 coming in the top ten) and you expect me to give you an insight? Saudi society is all about the Royal Family. Having had a few ales I ain't about to google the exact info but there are some 2 or 3 thousand members of the Saudi "Royal Family". Mostly they are known for their ability to run up unpaid bills at French Lingerie stores OR to simply turn up at an airport and get on a flight (which means if you are on Saudia with a reservation in FIRST class, you are NORMALLY lucky enough to get the last seat in economy.) BUT Somebody in that mix who has made it in the system to achieve such a plumb role as Ambassador to The Court of St James will actually have a lot more about them. It is most likely to be "family" wealth and anyone who has ever been to Monaco will have seen "the King's Yacht (the BIG thing with a helicopter landing pad and a missile defence system so I think most people will understand that they make Roman Abramovich look like a Big Issue seller. So, he will have wealth. Unfortunately for the few, having made it to that role, he will also have two other key attributes 1) Brains 2) An understanding and knowledge of the UK and it's current affairs So, I reckon they still have 3 hopes. No Hope Bob Hope & Envelope I may be wrong, but if he REALLY wants a club I can get him the phone number for Mike Ashley. (He left a pile of biz cards on the bar when he was here a year back trying to flog Toon) (Oh and he (MA turned up drunk in Ramadan for his big meeting which is why..........)

Ah the old nimby aversion to change trait comes out. It's a one off, it is a special season. It is something that we nearly didn't live to see and it should be marked out. Everywhere we go we will stand out and the pictures will say - They lasted 125 years and to hell with the nasty world the PL and the rest have become. The Arsenal kit looked damn good for their special year and I am sure that whatever comes out of the tailor's shop in deepest Asia will also look good. The shirts we buy (even you yoof) will mean something in years to come when you show them to your nippers or grand-nippers and explain our history and why we wore them with pride for a year. After that - back to the stripes, no argument there because by then the job of celebrating our heritage and looking to the next 125 years will be done.

Final thought for the evening. Up until the game I had spent an absolutely magical day watching Jiminez & Jaidee at the golf, possibly the best afternoon I had spent in ages. I had the choice of staying at the golf with the buzz and watching egg chasers but decided to come home and listen to the game. It was pretty clear it was a dumb decision, yes we are a better team on paper and yes with the money we have spent we should be walking this league. but, despite the digs, money doesn't buy instant success, as City & Chelsea in the erly days before them found out, I don't accept that as a valid excuse, Before the game I was happy with the selection and to see the 4-5-1 selection. I was proved wrong, it didn't work. I grumbled and agreed with the setiments of Alpine (but not his timing) I'm bitterly disappointed at our last two performances on the pitch as I HOPED for a run to the playoffs, now that is very unlikely and I'm back in the land of reality, this IS a hard league to get out of, But the infrastructure and backbone IS there, I'm ****ed that we look to have to spend another year, some of AP's buys have question marks but some seem gems. Maybe Hammond can come back, I thing that is the missing link so I'm just upset and disappointed as most of us are tonight, like nickh I really HOPED we could do it this year, but didn't really believe = anyway that hope is gone. The point is, at the end of the day however we ARE on course for our first :winning season: in many years,It will just take time to adjust to that and the possible upheavel the summer will bring. Anyway those up early tomorrow I'll wave at you on TV from alongside Rory, It'll dull the pain for me for a while. And there IS a silver lining, for me if we miss the playoffs I can afford to go to the WC. **** poor consolation TBH

Mind you as others have said, we are unbeaten in 2010. If we play like this and are still unbeaten in 2010 in 3 weeks I think we'd be effing ecstatic looking forward to Wenbley & a cup qtr final
-
Two really bad performances in a row, unbeaten yes, but we aren't playing well. Either teams have sussed us out or our minds are elsewhere. Worried now about the midweek game, these sorts of downturns can be difficult to snap out of.
-
And the body language of many of the players...... Yep, they were cruelly unlucky - 2 freak own goals and a wicked deflection, but then again when we were breaking "The Rules" our luck was awful as well. Still, the mini bubble of optimism has been well and truly spiked. Wish I could say that our performances of late made us look like adding to their woes but it sure doesn't

Hmm well, a good away point helps in our fight against relegation grumble Serves us right for focusing on other things on here I suppose. But it was Krap

Plan C 3 CB's & 2 wingbacks. OG 1 ball in from left deflection of defender James dives the wrong way in slow motion (have to see it in the replay) 2. Wicked deflection long range shot spins up in the air hits the inside of the bar shoots to the deck up into the top of the net and out with James flatfooted 3rd one absolute wellied right foot screamer from about 9 yards out, almost breaks the back of the net Ole football and should have had 8 the body language of the skates players is - dead we sound as if we are putting a few more passes together. Hearing Puncheon's name a lot Alps is right, we need the win or we are in trouble chasing the group above, just a bit early in the 2nd half to be that negative -

Ref the OG question - nothing in them they were pure soccer luck as far as Mancs were concerned, but you will ROFL We REALLY could do with a snippet of that or at least the ref booking one of them -
Game is krap. On the bright side, you boys are going to LOVE MOTD tonight. The Manc's 5th is an absolute screamer of an own goal. 2 OG's and one wicked deflection that should also be an OG. The footballing Gods are awake, just need them to smile in our direction
