  1. Yes, so that Jaidi & Perry are fresh for Tuesday & Saturday respectively.... Hmm
  2. bollix. Thought we sounded asleep Eric's fault for having a fry up at the wrong time
  3. Seabourne booked. Possibly because he was the only player on the pitch not sleeping jeez sounds like Solent don't want to wake the locals up
  4. I'm back lol at David James diving the wrong way for the OG. Guess nothing happened
  5. Decided to cook dinner early tonight so hopefully we'll be off to a good start while I'm downstairs. Just for Eric - Pocari Sweat & Vodka tonight - busy day at the golf :-)
  6. All that is wrong with the game. A bloody good read http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2010/teams/england/7167608/John-Terry-affair-is-football-still-the-beautiful-game.html
  7. Dear oh dear, some of the response in this thread take the biscuit. All the you "don't deserve to go as I've been to more games ripostes", where were you all when we were Season Tiocket holders back in the 70's and 80's and going to home and away games on the old bus trips at that time. Many of the uberfans have been to HOW many Saints games in their lives? 50? 100? 150? cut the krap, many of us have been to far more over the years. the "uberfan this week" should go argument doesn't make anyone more deserving. It ISN'T about that Unfortunately for Tim he hasn't done the dbase registration, so doesn't qualify for a ticket, that isn't anything to do with deserving, it is about computer systems. Where were these "class war" uberfans in Marseilles, or Leeds 1st Leg Cup semi away? or Oldham away in '77? Heck didn't see many of them away to Leicester when Anders had his moment, so cut it out. The lesson for the expats is simple, we need to register one way or another because other big games will be coming up in the next couple of seasons. But knock off the I'm better than you krap
  8. Yep, just got two for Slovenia game. Which is annoying as had applied for all the group games to do a tour but at worst had hoped to get Capetown as have a mate there with transport & free accomodation. Ho hum Now got to start working out how to get to Port Elizabeth from here, and of course the mate on the ticket application now doesn't want to go. So tough choice, do I take a mate, the GF or get someone to cover the cost of the trip so to speak?
  9. Noooo c'mon Mods. England's finest golfer at the moment gets swear flitered? FFS
  10. Oh and here's an idea to help the few out - Lee W******d looks in the same mood he was in November when he walked the Race to Dubai - suggest they put this month's Unit 1 budget on him to win.... (Actually, typing that was the only way I could stop laughing at the effect the few's visit to the PL had on their predicament after I read this) - http://mypompey.com/blogs/goldenboot/archive/2010/02/05/goldenboot-pompey-sos-meeting-with-prem-results-in-more-sanctions-against-club.aspx
  11. A couple of very genteel days working at the golf so far this week. Had a swap round and let some of the newbies look after the big names first two days. As a result spent last two days watching Pro's make us hackers look good thanks to the length of the rough. Anyway the two minor smirks were- #1 that Tom Watson, he doesn't hit the ball far these days but he knows how to keep it on the straight and narrow..... (unlike some Premier League football clubs owners) - local radio commentary today :-) And got home to see that the movie on MBC Persia was Payback..... Ahhh, and a nice riposte from a Swindon fan who's a well known but suffering golfer these days - when he found out I was a Saint - "you must be loving that mess up the M27 even more than we are...." So what will tomorrow bring? Chanrai arrested at Heathrow because he tried to run screaming through the new Bodyscanners in his haste to get out the country? Maybe Dubai Holdings will turn up as their new saviours. They must have a pretty good understanding of how to handle debt - after all they only owe $80billion or so.
  12. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7158912/Premier-League-to-blame-for-Portsmouth-debacle.html The aim of the big guns is slowly turning... Onto the Premier League. They won't like that nice little anecdote afterwards relating to the JT affair.
  13. Yawn. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is all about TIME. they weren't going pop last week and won't this week. This ludicous game is all about hanging on, delaying EVERYTHING and hoping that Grant pulls off a miracle and they stay up. The PL didn't get it months ago, this place did, and the media has only just started to catch on. you youngsters out there who aspiore to be lawyers/accountants etc should tune in every day because what you are seeing is every trick in every book ever written AND many new ones being invented daily. I am pretty damn sure that their next tactic will be sueing TSW or even the skate forums IF they believe they can buy another week. It is all about one more week, one more week, it's like watching Michael Atherton's innings in SA all those years ago, just one more ball. It won't end until some small local company or HMRC has had enough and just says No. In fact today's shenanigans were even murkier than the sand storm at the golf today down here
  14. Oops just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water... http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/premier-league-manager-faces-questions-over-visit-to-brothel-2047341.html Oh and to start the day with a good guffaw http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=187029 Have fun chaps will be back for the regular evening read
  15. I know I shouldn't..... I know it isn't them but We all know Poopey found the only two Arabs in the world without any money, and just to rub it in, it now seems that they would rather spend US$6million on camels than on a football club. http://business.maktoob.com/20090000430546/UAE_man_pays_6_45_million_for_three_camels/Article.htm?utm_campaign=Day-Newsletter&utm_medium=Main-News19&utm_source=Day-Newsletter&utm_content= Must be nice knowing you're worth less than a camel :-)
  16. Not to mention the most successful businessman in the city, taken with a pinch of Salz.
  17. The scuttlebut here was that he was behind Al Fahim. Faraj on the other hand simply never existed so could have been anyone, after all identity theft rose 32% in UK recently...
  18. I'm always on holiday. I like to go away for two weeks work every year.... But seriously, this year Krakow (meet the GF's folks) with maybe a stopover with a mate in Zurich or son in Frakfurt For the best vacation on the planet do a 10 day tour of Vietnam (sort of following the Top Gear route but end up in Hanoi)
  19. I can happily report that this is NOT the case. Apparently he's been down to one of those Seaworld Centres you have so that he can copy their idea. He fully intends to set up a Skate Fiddling pool for the locals. Meanwhile nice to see that Kanu ain't stupid.... http://www.tribalfootball.com/portsmouth-boss-grant-still-waiting-kanu-return-africa-619351 Seems he prefers staying in Angola than coming back to Nottarf Krap
  20. You'll never get a job as a cliche writer for Merrington using three lines to say "We 'ave too take eeach game at a time" (sic)
  21. Finally caught up and have started watching Burn Notice. Very enjoyable, but why the heck didn't Miami Beach look like that when I was there twice?
  22. Can understand that the Yoof like this sort of stuff. Unfortunately I like it about as much as the Martians in Mars Attacks liked Slim Whitman, ain't nowt to do with the lyrics it's the bloody racket
  23. Hmm there's another one. 9th Jan - when did Sasha go quiet? All the assets are now tied up to Chanrai and Sasha has about as much chance of ever seeing his money back as the blue few have of playing in the Champions League next season..
  24. So, that states quite clearly that the club do not "own" their players as there is a legal charge over them. A similar situation arose with regard to a UAE based investment fund 2 years ago that intended to invest in Football Club academies using a similar vehicle. They were denied a licence So, in other words that charge looks to be in flagrant breach of the FA rules, not as clear cut as the Tevez case with regard to third party ownership, but a VERY good case for an official investigation based on a formal complaint from a rival. Good time for Hull or Wolves or Burnley to come to the party. It also means that the funds raised from the sale of the players in the window have to be paid to the charge holder. So if the PL distribute the money to other clubs, then in theory Chanrai can sue the PL for spending HIS money, which, after the way they have bent over backwards to try and help would be a really funny come-uppance. Our resident accountants and lawyers will love this one. Looking forward to catching up on it all this evening after working at the golf. Should be a good couple of hours reading
  25. For anyone going down early/for the weekend http://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10436~1929289,00.html
