  1. Oh, the final nail in the moaning loaning coffin about work ethic and commitment on the pitch and being demeaning for clubs to loan players..... Carlos Tevez was on loan at Man U. Was that beneath them? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_T%C3%A9vez
  2. Lol OK I get the point, no more Mr Sensible Actually I am well happy that we will not have to know from now on. I was actually pointing out what was gone through to start the season! And AP, the golf is going So well these days had 7 pars in one round last week, including my own Y E Yang 216 yard 3 hybrid shot round a tree to 8 feet. All gearing up for my busy week in November keeping the World's Press under control and teaching Paul Casey how to look happy on a course at the DWC Race to Dubai grand final... so gotta keep in shape, I looked good last year in the Telegrpah with Rory (Getty Images) but have to work on a bit more global exposure at this big one New York Times is the objective this year, CNN was 3 years ago!
  3. Lol, I don't think you have been the only one agonising over a "why didn't I hoof it moment..."? The penalty for one and also I think a should have been into row Z for a throw in moment on one of the others. Still have the bruises where I slapped Foxy's head and went doh after they scored
  4. Wes, you are actually completely right and it is time to move on, I wasn't asking the general questions in a witch hunt format, but using them to seek to undertsand how the inheritance that ML acquired has impacted on what choices they have to make today The problem is that because the story may not get told in full, it will keep resurfacing. We will get snippets and sudden discoveries in rants about players and performances. FFS today I see in one thread that we were going to appoint Tony Pulis that's why we got his son... The Trusth and reconciliation approach will put an end to that sort of stuff The great example is the reverse takeover. It sits in our past like a zit waiting to be squeezed every few months. Going back to my OP, my motivation in saying that the WHOLE story should be told is because the situation that ML & NC walked into on day one of the new regime was set by what happened. The facts that faced them on day one will without any shadow of a doubt have been a vital part of how they plan to rebuild this club. Holistically there are so many things that affected how the new plan was produced. We all opine about what signings we ned how fast and when, but the story may help us understand more about why decisions are being done in certain ways... So, those making such a big issue out of one moment, or one person keep on and on and will do all season and next unless the truth is told. My wish is that it is all done sensibly, in one go. MLT's travails will be but a paragraph in a substantial tome. I think the club was in a much worse mess than any of us thought, too much had been stripped from the cupboard of experience and knowledge for 3 people to repair in 6 weeks
  5. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100006651/how-the-west-was-lost-ctd-the-burkini/ Swimming pools in the Uk are stopping people from wearing normal swimwear in case they offend... In a muslim country, we wear swimwear to the beach, we don't offend. In fact it is quite normal to see a local family on the beach, the husband in shorts and the wife in a Burkini or even full Abaya. Nobody gets offended by the other Except I suppose those German tourists who still insist on wearing too tight speedos who offend everyone equally! In other words you have a bunch of idiots in the UK
  6. lol don't drop me in the sh1t! The alluded to was that Echo article last season  One other point about loans as we have heard in the rumours from Brizzle about Holmes, some higher clubs contact lower league clubs and ASK them to take players on loan and actually PAY a proportion of their wages. So you get a useful squad player in at no great expense while you search for the player you need to fit your style.. After all, when you buy a car or a house, most sane people don't buy the first one they see at the asking price. They check out the alternatives and try and negotiate. THAT can delay things, especially if, for example, a Higher league club has a CB that we want to buy, then they may want to get a replacement first... Sort of Lescott - like saga... We don't KNOW who else is around that AP wants in HIS team
  7. During the close season the average opex bill was rumoured to be around 500k a month. That apparently more than doubled when the bonuses were due, not to mention PAYE & other costs such as housing & transport allowances... The timing of those payments had been linked to the receipt of the Early Bird ST revenue in the past. That did not happen. In fact there was zero income in the summer. The rumours allege that Crouch donated one of the wage bills, He is equally rumoured to have LENT it, so the maths do stack up I'm afraid. Now we can all argue until we are blue in the face about whether anyone EARNT any bonuses last year, but the fact remains that players get a base salary and then bonuses whether it be win bonus, appearance money, goal bonus etc. In addition, there would have been bills due during that period that HAD to be paid, PAYE, VAT, Agents Fees, Football Debts, Stadium running costs, salaries of staff etc. By continuing to trade, the running costs of the club kept piling up. To get an idea search out the last published set of accounts pre-Lowe, then take a wild guess that he managed to slash those costs by say one third (which would be a remarkable achievement in any business in one year) and you get an idea of the cost of running the club while no income came in. The figures stack up I'm afraid, no conspiracy there I would expect that Rasiak's 3 minutes on Tuesday cost the club VERY well in excess of an extra 500 quid. So back to my thread - this stuff needs to be told properly by people with the facts, not as partial guesses or analysis on the forum
  8. Much of your OP is based on incorrect assumptions. Most assured of which is the comment in bold. You honestly could not be more wrong. In fact LMAO! Which was one of the questions I posed at the start on the "Mess" thread FWIW the weekend that Pinnacle pulled out was when the appearance and bonus payments had to be made to the playing squad, hence the departure of DMG/AS. The new owners will have produced a business plan. It will have started from a position of zero. The ST revenue, average match day sales and commercial revenue will all have been planned. The OPEX budget will also have been planned including all back office salaries and small items like the stadium running cost, IT etc Then a Playing Budget will have been addressed, The salary budget will have been brought down to a level that was sane. At that point you will have reached "The Burn Rate" ie how much cash the business could lose each month. At that point the owner will have arranged finance, either by a secured overdraft or by allocating a draw down account. The critical factor at the beginning will have been that the BUDGETS will have been agreed by all parties, operations and playing side. It will be the manager's job to make sure that he balances the books to the plan. Like I keep saying, the Swiss are vey methodical, they will not simply Fed-Ex a brown paper bag across each week when someone asks for it, although there will be regular presentations and reviews tracking performance and plans (that's what the Board does)
  9. As in Andrew Davies - yes that worked well Saga - possibly no he was much better while on loan But he could also be out of contract by then we don't know And with a youngster, perhaps better to make sure he fits the bill rather than have another Pulis/Gasmi/Smith hanging around
  10. Possible answers 1) We still expect to sign Jaidi but the Work Permit process and appeals could take 2 or 3 months 2) AP has possibly seen something in Lancashire that coaching and maybe a loan could bring out 3) He is waiting for a better player to become available in January 4) He has another one lined up on a full-time contract 5) He needs to move high earning players out before making any more long term commitments due to the playing staff wage budget that agreed when he joined - as in he gets rid of one out of Rasiak or Saga and has enough money for 3 L1 professionals All options. Seeing as the Holiday Camp team have all left the building, I'll go with the Baldrick option - he's working to a cunning plan
  11. Think I posted something about showing the team/board the extent of the problem in my "joke" 1st conspiracy post during the match thread. The only thing missing now will be the appearance of Pulis in a match day squad then we'll all know he is really checking out the entire squad... But it was obvious that a squad not good enough for the CCC which loses 4 of it's more regular or pacey players would also struggle in L1. In the real world it simply takes time to check out all the alternatives that are available on the transfer/bosman/loan markets. Real managers don't use a computer game to make their decisions, they try and get the players scouted or talk to their contacts from the past who may have noted them. Re the Megastore, it isn't JUST the playing side that is in a mess, it will all take time, money should will be spent wisely, ML is Swiss, not a British Bank
  12. Pah, no wonder AP with those negative body language vibes at Swindon.... When does he find time to SLEEP? A new signing per day! FFS slow down man you'll burn out... However, as you're obviously on a role can you just complete the path to near hero status by booking a taxi for 5pm on 31st For Pulis (or insert personal pet hate/space waster name here)
  13. No worries.. The invoice is in the post
  14. Bugger picked up 5 points last night How the heck am I supposed to win the wooden spoon if I keep earning points
  15. They never got their PL approval, but now ask yourself one question... No, actually better not, but it could be a small piece of the jigsaw goodnight
  16. There you go, stating the bleedin obvious again... Although with minus 9 I suppose techincally we're nearly 3 divisions below But it was funneh, just for a few moments before you came along:D
  17. I spent 16 years with an American Multi National going to places that others had never heard of. Without a doubt, Pakistan was the most amazing, but as I posted, Yemen was the weirdest. Perhaps the difference between me and many corporate types was the fact that I always appreciated how lucky I was and always took time to get a feel for the place I was in. Suppose I should have signed up for lonely planet or something. Other great Pakistan places included Karachi - got taken to The Yacht Club - straight out of the Raj, drinking beers while visiting a soup kitchen there for Heroin addicts, yet being made to feel at home and being given a cooking lesson, going up the Swat valley to Kandy (Candy) and being feted as if I was Prince Charles while visiting a tiny village who had their elecricity supply from a tiny waterwheel powering one of my UPS's, firing an AK47 and missing not only the can on the bush, but the bush AND the Mountain behind it! The Americans always got it, the Europeans never did, shame really, I am the luckiest person on the planet for having had the chance to do all that and much more. Even though my mum ALWAYS worried!
  18. Bless another virtual pint en route mon ami
  19. And the score tonight was???? Lol the sk*tes are below Burnley
  20. What we actually need is someone with experience and authority to come in and build a structure that oversees the development of kids from the day they leave the Academy until the day they are truly ready for a full season of First Team football. A sort of Post Academy Degree course. Now, if only we knew someone who could fit that role....... For those without irony degrees google the interview with SCW when he was first appointed or the interviews with Glenn Hoddle after the Hero fund invested in his Spanish Academy.... Oops There's another set of questions. Damn you SfCam never meant to do that, you tricked me!
  21. Lol Wait until it comes out about Marlboro man.... He came before admin but after the De Vere & GB Honest!
  22. Two answers 1) yes 2) I consult at US 3k a day (and nobody EVER contracts me, until their second trip here) Oh, I also allegedly have a fairly in depth experience of football deals down here if that helps  Seriously.. It is REALLY difficult to explain, I have been trying to do it for about 15 years. There is one great book - "Don't They Know It's Friday?" which I once sent to all our US Board members. It is also difficult to try and explain to you lot in your PC world with your PC police. I try and give some very simplistic examples Standard sales technique in EU (that includes blighty for our friends down the road) is to show a customer a product and an ROI and build a BUSINESS CASE. Well that always fails as ROI doesn't compute here. Look at the finances of the Burj Al Arab - income will take 120 years to pay back the loans..... Down here they buy from their friends, or people that have been introduced to them "as friends". I once got kicked off a "Relationship Selling Technique" Course in Paris when I told the tutor he was talking non-PC carp So in simple terms, you guys in Europe are brainwashed (or programmed in corp speak) You are born, you will get married, have 2.4 babies, you will save for a pension, and you will die. It is a ticking time bomb in your head from day one. Deadlines, objectives etc.... Down here, that entire concept of time doesn't exist. You live, you are good, you go to a better place. EVERY driver and motivation that you use is out the window from the first powerpoint slide. If the "man" has not forbidden something then you can do it. You are infidels, so taking money from you lot is technically good so you go to heaven..... (although that is a bit unfair as they are cracking down in that stuff as I have shown!) Now that is HORRIBLY non-PC but again, that is an alien concept here. PC doesn't exist, what exists is RESPECT. We respect their ways they respect ours. Nobody has RIGHTS, only respect. The thing that shows it the most is the Burkini.... You have swimming pools ENFORCING Burkinis "in case you offend", down here the chicks go to the beach wearing BIKINIS.... You want to wear a bikini because of your culture they respect that, they want to go swimming in an Abaya, we RESPECT that... You ant to fook around while waering a Bikini - well that is disrespectful... So, you do business here driven by the will of "God", not ROI or threats or ultimatums... The minute PS started to talk about ultimatums.......lol
  23. And yes, some of them do have beards
  24. That's the one on the LEFT gang.... I'm sure the one on the right is a regular at Rock Bottoms. Easy to pull, no chat up line needed, just a stock of fresh dunkin donuts at home
