  1. They really don't like British riders doing well on that forum. Thomas now has his own thread with people disbelieving he can finish so high up in a mountaintop finish. Does anyone here truly think Sky have uncovered some as of yet untestable drug which is helping their riders blitz up mountains or is it a case of them having some great riders plus the best training and strategy?
  2. They don't have many star players. Lloris, Erikssen, Kane. I'm not sure the top 4 would be overly fussed about any of their other players.
  3. I got mine through yesterday. Apparently they send them out to the best and most dedicated fans first.
  4. Francis Benali hasn't bought his yet, so add one more to the total. Source: Francis Benali.
  5. 3 out of 4 people in our house have one. Extrapolate that through the city and surrounding areas I make it about 295892 sold.
  6. His name sung to Brown Girl In The Ring was it. Maybe it was the actual song which annoyed him rather than the lack of it. We need to sort something decent for Mane soon or he'll be off in January.
  7. Is the price we paid for Shane Long now the benchmark to compare every transfer with? Laters Morgan. Thanks for being good and all that.

We won't be a top 6 club until we pay top 6 wages. We may finish 6th once or twice in the next 20 seasons because another club has a bad season but I truly do not know what some people on here expect. We offer a player a contract, another team offers more. Player goes to other team. Unless we start chucking loads of cash at top players they will not sign for us during the prime years of their career. It's so blindingly obvious I wonder why people don't understand it.

Alpine has pulled out all the stops on this thread. Some absolute classic posts that make him come across as the balanced, thoughtful, level headed chap we all know. I think his assertion that someone should "deal with it" was my highlight. Because he's obviously dealt with this himself in such a pragmatic way.
  10. Surprising that Arsenal haven't made much effort here. Is he out of their price range or are they targetting elsewhere?
  11. That was quality from Martin. Quite surprising Sky only had one man up with Froome for the last few cobbled sections. Thomas is my favourite rider right now, not only is he massively talented but he also comes across as a really sound bloke.

Just read through the last 5 pages. Christ, we really do have our fair share of complete tools as supporters.

Your son must find it incredibly easy to hack into that laptop.
  14. With the Kazakh Chemist in charge it's almost sadly inevitable.
  15. Astonishing ride by Rohan Dennis. Beats the time trial record speed set by Chris Boardman.
  16. After aborting the original journey up there somewhere around B'ham when we found the game was off and then enduring a horrific 6 hour drive across country to avoid the jams on the M6 on the rearranged Tuesday night I was half expecting the limp performance that greeted us. All in I spent about 14 hours travelling to and from that fixture and we barely had a shot on target in a game that if we had won would have all but sealed promotion.
  17. Yeah the Fonte goal at Brighton is a good shout. Most amusing to see their fans trying to look all moody in the car park after having been pathetically laying into Adkins 10 minutes before. Have to admit I didn't get that excited about the goals against Coventry. While it was good, it was also obvious we were going up and I was still slightly miffed we'd blown the chance to win the title at Middlesbrough the week before.
  18. That Downing goal was a sickener. Going along with The9's rational I will nominate any of the goals Grobelaar waved in to the net on his way to picking up those brown envelopes. For sheer comedy value Danny Fox smashing the ball into Hooiveld at St James' Park has to be up there.
  19. Aside from some of those mentioned above I'll add Steven Davis putting us 2-1 up at the Etihad in our first game back in the Premier League. It was more than the goal, it was a celebration for everything we'd been through since being relegated under Redknapp. I've never seen so many Saints fans with massive grins on their faces. There was utter disbelief that our team, largely made of players who had been with us since League 1, had come from behind to lead against the richest team in the country. My heart was racing to the point that if we had scored again it might have finished me off.

I heard he was holding out for York City but a bid never materialised.

But most footballers are fairly dull. I'm pretty sure Clyne isn't moving to Liverpool because it has a Tate museum and a better waterfront.

Quite a few live around Winchester and can often be found there eating out together. It's the perfect location for them really. I don't get the attraction of Ocean Village to be honest but it seems to be the first place a lot of the new players move to.
