  1. You are a very peculiar individual
  2. On the BBC now. Pity https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50325666
  3. No I’m saying plans and proposals often don’t make it to implementation for many reasons including a change of government or public opinion.
  4. That’s not how it works. Major legislative change involves a green paper, white paper committee stages, two houses and a date it comes into force if it survives all those stages and a change in government. At least five years in gestation, which is why so many proposals fall by the wayside and governments don’t achieve much in their first five year term. It’s also why it won’t matter that much if Corbin becomes PM)
  5. Sure. The previous election was only 2.5 years ago so we’re long overdue a new Brexit vote
  6. What is so mystical about a vote 3.5 years ago that means it should trump everything that happens after, including two general elections
  7. Corbyn is an old school socialist, yet Johnson's spending plans are bigger than his and would be funded by driving up borrowing even more. At least Corbyn's nationalisation would be largely self funding. Think about that for a second
  8. Impossible to tell isn't it? I imagine Labour will improve a bit, the Tories will drop a bit but the real surprise will be the number of big individual constituency swings against the national trend.
  9. No it’s the most popular option.
  10. Bercause its the most popular option
  11. Heidi Allen wont be standing because of knobs who think destroying the centre ground and forcing people to choose between two entrenched and extreme tribes is the way to go.
  12. Sad but true
  13. Domestically Blair was an awesome PM. Overseas, hm not so much. The others were largely steady state or ineffectual - both are a hell of a lot better than being doctrinaire.
  14. Sounds like spin. He supposedly died by blowing up a suicide vest. There wouldnt be many parts left to whimper. Anyway the Russians have derided the claim that he is dead and said they didnt help as Trump claimed.
  15. When he was up against May - the two most wooden and grey leaders you could imagine - it was possible for Labour members to convince themselves Corbyn was electable. Johnson, loathsome though he is is charismatic and energetic. At some point Momentum are going to wake up and realise that Corbyn is a liability, not a route to getting brave new world policies implemented in government.
  16. When was the filibuster?
  17. And he's been proved right to talk to them. There should have been a peace, and there was. Now we're heading towards a united Ireland.
  18. Boris would be willing to sell out his backers and the Tory Party if that’s what it took for him to be king of the world
  19. Remarkable. How do you do it every time? Post up a chart or pic which undermines what you write?
  20. If Corbyn is savvy he'll delay until the Johnson halo effect wears off. Mind you if he was savvy and altruistic he would have resigned already and handed over to somebody who is electable.
  21. Do posters want to see a heavily amended and improved deal put to a referendum or the current **** show?
  22. Labour hinting at legal challenge based on insuffficient time to scrutinise bill?
  23. Even if it passes it wont necessarily get implemented. Thewre will be another year of wrangling, and most likely extensions to the implementation period whereby nothing changes.
  24. If you are going to do direct action / civil disobedience successfully tactically its just wrong. Shutting off roads to diesel cars whilst giving out flowers at tube stations might have been better
  25. I read that at first as "If your pig changes its makeup take it to work while you work out if you like the new look or not". I guess thats also an option...
