Loads of designs were looked at over the years, but the site was just too small.

Brexit seems to be coming apart at the seams. Ive go to say that amazes me since it was so well thought through in advance.
-
I wonder if the referendum result would have been the same if the campaign battle bus said "Vote leave. Lets give the EU an extra £1billion per week and take it from the NHS".

£98bn when everything is added in

Its a fantastically **** poor cohort of politicians across the spectrum. You'd be hard pressed to fill a cabinet with competent people even if you drew from across all parties.

Everyone can make their own prediction about the future - but if the prediction is based on false belief about the past inevitably its going to be nonsense. There are some good arguments for Brexit, but I have almost never seen them aired here, and when they have been it has been by remainers acknowledging the opposition case. Brexiteers, both here and in the country at large, very rarely seem to have the slightest clue about the issues.
-
I respect what must have been herculean efforts to avoid all of the many explanations over the past year or so of how the EU works. You can make arguments grounded in fact for both remaining and leaving. This isnt one of them.

Agree it's a bit too fussy. I bought it because of the jewelled mechanical movement and the novelty of the 24 hour face, which necessarily makes it 'busier'

That is one of the very few nice looking watches on this thread. Ive got one of these. https://www.russian-watches.info/shop/russian-watches-sale/russian-24-hours-watch-arctic-expedition-camp-barneo-north-pole-polar-bear-52mm/

Underwhelming and yet the cumbersome, collapsing EU has negotiated far superior trade deals than nimble single countries of comparable size like the US or China. How odd.
-
Sure, by being in the EU Britain gets free trade with 10 of the top 20. China only gets 2 and the US get four.
-
****ing hell, you are endlessly stupid. Akrotiri and Dhekelia are sovereign RAF bases on Cyprus you utter bellend.

Like the other Brexiteers here, you get found out repeatedly and have nothing to offer. The EU has far more substantive and numerous external trade agreements than either China or the US. Either deal with it and come up with a meaningful argument about why it doesn't matter or accept it. This stupid posturing whilst sticking your head in the sand just makes you look both thick and dishonest.
-
Odd that you missed out the biggest countries and only cited the smallest. Seriously? EU trade within the bloc alone, even without the external trade agreements is far far more substantive and meaningful than anything China or the US have been able to negotiate. http://fta.mofcom.gov.cn/index.shtml or this https://ustr.gov/trade-agreements/free-trade-agreements?

Every time I think you coudn't find a new subject to demonstrate less knowledge, you excel yourself. China has 14 trade agreements, the US has 20, the EU has 50 not counting the free trade within its 28 members - making a total of 78. ****ing read something man, you make a **** of yourself on every subject.

Flash watches are pretty much only a new money after a poor upbringing thing. 'Look at where I came from and what I've got now'. It marks you out for sure, but probably not in the way the wearer intended.
-
So you've chosen to ignore the point about the ministers of national governments being able to veto the deal. I wonder why that would be?
-
But what you dont understand is that deals need to be approved by both the Parliament and the Council (ie made up of Government ministers / Prime Ministers of each country). Either can shoot it down.
-
You still havent found away round your logic gap. The EU is its members, its not some amorphous separate body. If there were other countries wanting leave they wouldnt allow a deal that sabotages Britain. If there aren't other countries wanting to leave then sabotaging Britain is pointless and self harming.
-
Thats exactly it. The Brexiteers cant get their head around the idea that not everybody spends every waking hours thinking about Britain first and always. The EU care about the EU, as they should. If one of the 28 leave its business as usual, 'oh well very sad, bye, don't forget get to settle up the bill before you go'.

Getting older - was it this bad for everyone?

You exemplify Brexiteers Johnny - you literally have no clue about the issues you have firm opinions on. Free movement was enshrined in the Treaty of Rome in 1957. When Britain joined the EEC in 1973 it was extended to us - people could move freely because we had joined. The sharper readers will note that 1973 was before the early 80s.

High levels of immigration and the consequent impact on unskilled wages, demand for / price of housing and the NHS were real issues. They concerned me. Ultimately though I voted remain because I thought if we left we'd lose all the EU benefits, disrupt the economy and gain nothing in return - because no government is going to stand up to industry demands and restrict the flow of cheap labour.
