Five times less than Fulham, Aston Villa and Sunderland. One third of West Ham and Stoke. Not sure why anybody is arguing against this - its been obvious for ages we've under performed on the commercial side - both hospitality and sponsorship - and now the new Chairman has confirmed it is his most urgent priority.

My favourite bit was when it was let known that global giants Mercedes were going to be sponsoring us. Turned out to be the local dealer giving a minibus

Somebody taunted them last season with "your sons will wear our shirts". A lot of truth in that (along with Man U, Liverpool etc). A 50 something Pompey fan from Fratton won't switch but teenagers from Locks Heath, maybe even Fareham will.

So your reasoning is: "I don't know how they did it; or why they did it; or how they kept it secret; or why Britain colluded but I'm prepared to give it more credence than pilot error / hijack / accident". Remember how convinced you were that you were right about Barry Sanchez? This is the same.

1. The Ukraine government is a national emergency coalition. Yes there are a few ultra nationalists in it but the very large majority are mainstream parties. Their prime minister is Jewish. 2. Similarly the opposition to Assad consists of many disparate groups. If the EDL and Socialist workers both wanted to reduce car tax does that make them allies? 3. Why would the US risk world outrage and condemnation, with the active support of Britain, to abduct and presumably kills 250 people? For two tonnes of mangos and some laptop batteries?

Diego Garcia will be routinely photographed and monitored by the Chinese. The idea that the Americans captured a civilian airliner and flew it to Diego Garcia is nuts in itself, without even factoring in the Chinese reaction.

Its a weak cohort of politicians from all parties. You'd have difficultly filling a whole government with competent people even by cherry picking from the Tories, Labour, Liberals, UKIP and Greens.

Ive pretty much stopped flying in Europe because of the hassle - and ended up having some great holidays in places I wouldn't have normally gone to because of it.

Works for me!

The voice recorder, which is arguably the most important of the two in this case only records for two hours. Since the flight lasted for at least seven hours all the recordings of the critical phase of the flight, the first five hours, will have been lost. Flight reporting technology is woefully out of date on many dimensions.

Who were his three friends?.....

Why are you a low ranking employee in a declining division of a troubled bank then?

Everybody relax. Barker has a gameplan. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/news/34508/barker-i-have-a-gameplan

He's the number 2 (or three really behind KL) in a medium sized 200 employee provincial business. Not sure who people expect to appoint

And CL aspirations. As long as he says he wants CL thats good enough for me.

Does anybody know if Ralph Krueger is an executive Chairman (ie full time) or a non executive one (eg 1 day per week)? That would make a big difference to how much influence Rogers has.

Only thing I can think of is a small bomb in the toilet behind the cockpit which took out comms, depressurised cabin and injured flight crew.

Why would you sign a new contract now if your current one runs till 2018 and why would anyone worry now whether it was true or not? Its four years away ffs.

The Australian General in charge of the search said yesterday they weren't searching for a needle in a haystack, because they haven't found the haystack yet.

Er no. The reports never existed. It was made up. Unless of course the Maldives coastguard and defence force are in cahoots with the Malaysians and Austalians and Chinese and Americans and Inmarsat and the UK Air Accidents Investigations Branch and France and CNN and......

The Maldives coast guard told CNN it had no reports of such sightings and had not even been requested to conduct a search. The acting Malaysian transport minister also declared the reports false. "I can confirm that the Malaysian Chief of the Defense Force has contacted his counterpart in the Maldives, who has confirmed that these reports are not true," Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said at a press conference. The Maldives Ministry of Defense and National Security also confirmed that their radar systems and surveillance mechanisms show no indication of the missing plane. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/19/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-plane-ground-witnesses/

The real problem is that people with skills and or qualifications trade down during times of high unemployment. During the boom times Aldi would likely be lucky to attract 50 applicants who could read and write well. Now almost certainly more than 50 of those 1,500 applicants had previous retail experience and a stack of qualifications. Against that background people with mental difficulties and all that goes with it (usually disrupted education, poor work history) wont get employed.

I agree - all input is valuable, especially from those with first hand experience of the subject in hand. At times I have been guilty of misinterpreting things as I'm sure all other posters have too. The post is directed at those who would have us believe governments knew where it was all along but chose not to say.
